Senator Cyril Fasuyi  Awards ₦10M Scholarship to UTME Top Scorer, Daniella Owoeye, to Pursue Medicine Degree.

In a powerful display of leadership and commitment to youth development, the Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, has stepped in to transform the life of 17-year-old Miss Owoeye Daniella Jesutosin by awarding her a ₦10 million educational scholarship.

Daniella, an indigene of Erinmope-Ekiti in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State, made history by emerging as the overall top candidate in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with an extraordinary score of 372 out of 400—scoring 98% in English Language, 98% in Chemistry, 94% in Physics, and 82% in Biology.

Despite her brilliant mind, Daniella’s dream of studying Medicine at the Lagos State University (LASU) hung in the balance due to severe financial hardship.
Moved by her exceptional academic feat and touched by her humble background, Senator Fasuyi announced the ₦10 million intervention to fully cover her medical education, ensuring that financial constraints do not derail her potential.
Speaking on the gesture, Senator Fasuyi emphasized that education remains the single most effective tool for social mobility and poverty eradication:
"As the Senator representing Ekiti North, it is my duty to ensure our brightest minds are not constrained by their background. Education is the ultimate equalizer and the quickest path out of poverty. Supporting a star like Daniella with this annual N2millon grant each for five years is an investment in the future of Ekiti State and Nigeria at large."

Daniella’s path to academic excellence was far from easy. Raised by salary-earning parents struggling to cater to four children, her education was repeatedly threatened by financial strains, including debts incurred during family emergencies that nearly forced her out of secondary school.
Determined to succeed, she relied on public library sessions, group tutorials, and personal discipline. Having sat for the UTME previously without securing admission due to fee constraints at available institutions, she spent the last year reading day and night to rewrite her story.

Her dream is to become a pediatrician—a passion inspired by a childhood desire to care for sick and vulnerable children.
"I came from a very humble background and couldn't attend prestigious private schools, but I made the most of every lesson teacher and tutorial available. Last year, I couldn't proceed because my parents couldn't afford the fees. Today, on my 17th birthday, God has used Senator Cyril Fasuyi to give me a future." — Daniella Owoeye

Senator Cyril Fasuyi’s prompt intervention not only lifts a massive financial burden off a hardworking family but also sends a clear message across Ekiti State: hard work, brilliance, and perseverance will always be rewarded.
As Daniella prepares to begin her medical journey at LASU, the entire Ekiti North constituency and well-wishers across the country applaud Senator Fasuyi for his foresight, generosity, and dedication to raising the next generation of Nigerian leaders.
