Government Should Create Enabling Environment for Youths to Thrive — Engr. Bayo Ajayi.

The government at all levels has been urged to create a more enabling environment for young Nigerians to develop their talents, acquire relevant skills and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The call was made by an APC stalwart from Emure-Ekiti, Engineer Bayo Ajayi, while speaking as one of the guest speakers at the International Youth Day programme organised by the Nigeria Youth Congress, Ekiti State Chapter, in Ado-Ekiti, on Friday.

Ajayi, a passionate advocate for youth development, said youths remained critical to the future of the country and should be provided with the necessary opportunities and support to realise their potential.

He said, “Government should do more for the youth by providing an enabling environment for the youths to thrive and grow.”

The engineer urged government, private organisations and other stakeholders to invest more in youth development through education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, employment and innovation.

He also advised youths to remain focused and take advantage of various opportunities and empowerment programmes provided by government to improve themselves and become self-reliant.

Ajayi urged the youths to be proactive, hardworking and committed to personal development, stressing that government’s efforts could only yield the desired results when young people were prepared to utilise available opportunities.

He further advised them to shun drug abuse, violence, internet fraud and other activities capable of jeopardising their future, urging them instead to become agents of positive change in their communities.

“Your future is in your hands. Do not allow your present situation to determine your future. Learn a skill, improve yourself, identify opportunities and make good use of them,” he advised.

Engr. Bayo Ajayi, a lover of youths, promised to continue contributing his quota to youth development in Ekiti State.

He said he would remain committed to supporting initiatives and programmes aimed at empowering young people, developing their capacities and preparing them for greater opportunities.

The International Youth Day programme brought together youths and other stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting young people and explore ways of strengthening their participation in community and national development.
