EKSCOTECH Rector Felicitates Owa Ajero on 2026 Ita Ajero Festival.
The Rector of Ekiti State College of Technology (EKSCOTECH), Ijero-Ekiti, Dr. Olufemi Olubamise, has extended warm felicitations to the Owa Ajero of Ijero Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adewole Adebayo, and the entire sons and daughters of Ijero Kingdom, both at home and in the diaspora, on the occasion of this year’s Owa Ajero Festival.
Dr. Olubamise described the festival as a significant cultural celebration that reflects the rich heritage, enduring traditions and strong communal bond of the people of Ijero Kingdom.
According to the Rector, the annual celebration provides an important avenue for the people of Ijero to honour their heritage, strengthen their bond with one another and collectively appreciate the progress and development of the kingdom.
He commended the Owa Ajero for his exemplary leadership and efforts towards preserving the cultural values and traditions of Ijero, noting that traditional institutions remain vital to the promotion of peace, unity and sustainable development within their communities.
The Rector further acknowledged the importance of cultural festivals such as the Owa Ajero Festival in attracting visitors, fostering social interaction and creating opportunities for economic activities, particularly in the areas of hospitality, transportation, entertainment, crafts and local commerce.
He expressed optimism that with the continued support of the traditional institution, government, private organisations and other stakeholders, the festival would continue to grow in prominence and contribute meaningfully to the cultural and economic development of Ijero Kingdom and Ekiti State.
Dr. Olubamise congratulated His Royal Majesty, Oba Adewole Adebayo, the Owa Ajero-in-Council and the entire people of Ijero Kingdom on the celebration, wishing them a peaceful and memorable festival.
He prayed for continued peace, unity, prosperity and accelerated development in Ijero Kingdom, while reaffirming EKSCOTECH’s commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the traditional institution and the people of its host community.
