Ojuawo Commends President Tinubu for His Statesmanship Following Osun Governorship Election.

The Member representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, Hon. (AVM Rtd.) Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his commitment to the growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, through his Media Office, Hon. Ojuawo described President Tinubu as a true father to all Nigerians and praised him for demonstrating exemplary statesmanship following the recently concluded Osun State governorship election.

According to him, President Tinubu has consistently demonstrated his commitment to democratic principles by respecting the will of the people and putting national interest above partisan considerations.

“Honestly, we must commend President Tinubu for truly being a vanguard of democracy and for consistently practising what he preaches by standing with the people. The people of Osun State have spoken through their votes by electing Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office, and President Tinubu immediately congratulated the Governor on his victory and wished him well as he continues his work for the people.

His large heart and exemplary leadership are worthy of emulation by all, especially those of us in leadership positions. Democracy becomes meaningful when the votes of the people count and when their voices matter in the processes that directly affect their lives.

Once again, I say thank you to my President for ensuring the sustenance of the democratic process and the continued development of our dear nation.”

The retired Air Vice Marshal also congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election and admonished him to be magnanimous in victory.

Hon. Ojuawo urged the Governor to see his victory as an opportunity and a test of leadership, calling on him to embrace all citizens of Osun State, irrespective of their political affiliations.

He further advised Governor Adeleke to use his renewed mandate to promote unity, peace, inclusiveness and development across the state, stressing that effective leadership requires fairness and service to all.

“Victory is an opportunity to demonstrate true leadership. I therefore urge the Governor to extend a hand of fellowship to everyone and govern with fairness, humility and the fear of God,” Ojuawo added.
