Ajoni Council Chairman, Prince Ogungbemi hails Gov Oyebanji’s security milestones.
The Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area, Hon. Prince Michael Ogungbemi, has hailed Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s achievements in the security sector describing it as a remarkable development in Ekiti State.
Prince Ogungbemi stated this on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti during the interactive S’etigbo multicast anchored by the Bureau of Community Communications.
Ogungbemi noted that the governor’s heavy investments and landmark achievements in the security and infrastructure sectors such as the establishment of military formations, approval for the construction of a new Divisional Police Headquarters in Ipao-Ekiti, and other security initiatives has greatly reduced incidents of kidnapping and banditry in the area.
He acknowledged the Governor’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stressing that the administration has strengthened security along the state’s border communities to prevent criminals from infiltrating Ekiti.
The council chairman explained that the LCDA established a local security network to complement conventional security agencies in protecting lives and property, combating banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.
Prince Ogungbemi revealed that upon assuming office, he established a joint security arrangement involving neighbouring local governments and border communities adding that, with the approval of Governor Oyebanji, regular meetings are held with adjoining states to strengthen regional security cooperation.
He added that significant developmental projects have been executed in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and other sectors, attributing the progress to the improved security situation across the LCDA.
Hon. Ogungbemi disclosed that Ajoni LCDA has established agricultural initiatives aimed at reducing youth unemployment while commending Governor Oyebanji for promoting modern agriculture and youth empowerment programmes across Ekiti State.
He assured residents of Ajoni LCDA and the entire people of Ekiti State that government remains committed to sustaining the fight against kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities, assuring that security agencies will continue to protect lives and property.
