The Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District and spokesperson of the Senate, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has delivered an Information and Communication Technology centre in Omuo-Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State, in fulfilment of his promise to expand access to digital infrastructure across the district.
The project, according to the senator's media office, is part of efforts aimed at promoting grassroots development and empowering young people through technology and digital education.
In a statement made available to journalists on Monday, the media office said the ICT centre was conceived to serve as a hub for education, innovation, entrepreneurship and digital skills acquisition for residents of Ekiti East Local Government and other parts of Ekiti South Senatorial District.
The statement noted that the facility had been fully equipped and configured to provide students, youths and aspiring entrepreneurs with access to computers, internet facilities and other digital resources necessary to thrive in a technology-driven world.
It added that the centre would play a vital role in bridging the digital divide by creating opportunities for learning, innovation and capacity development among young people in the district.
The statement read, "The delivery of this ICT centre is a testament to Senator Yemi Adaramodu's unwavering commitment to fulfilling his promises and ensuring that the people of Ekiti South Senatorial District are adequately positioned to benefit from the opportunities presented by the digital economy.
"The facility will serve as a platform for digital literacy, innovation, entrepreneurship and human capital development, particularly among youths and students."
The media office further stated that the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to promote sustainable development and improve access to technological opportunities across communities in the senatorial district.
Residents and stakeholders in the area have described the project as a significant intervention capable of enhancing educational development, promoting innovation and creating pathways for economic empowerment among young people.
The ICT centre is expected to provide beneficiaries with the digital skills and exposure required to compete effectively in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.I can also make it even more "Punch-like" by adding reactions from beneficiaries, local leaders, and background context on Senator Adaramodu's previous constituency projects.
