The Executive Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga, popularly known as Chenco, has expressed deep appreciation to all stakeholders and staff for their overwhelming turnout in support of the second-term endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT), Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), and Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye (MCA).

Hon. Oluwatuyi described the event, held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, as a “historic and remarkable watershed” in the political history of Ekiti State. According to him, the endorsement rally was not a fairytale, fiction, or academic prose, but a visible and resounding political statement by the people of Ekiti.

The council boss commended the religious, political, and community stakeholders as well as the unprecedented presence of staff from Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government for their commitment to good governance and continuity. He particularly praised the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mrs. Akinbobola Deborah-B, the Directors, and the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), led by Comrade Aina Olawole Festus, for mobilizing their members in support of Governor Oyebanji.

“I am sincerely grateful to every single individual who stood with us. Your remarkable show of solidarity speaks volumes and I am confident that your loyalty and dedication to the cause of continuity will not go unrewarded. Together, we are laying a solid foundation for the future of Ekiti,” Hon. Oluwatuyi stated.

The Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Remi Alade, also expressed his delight at what he described as a “landmark show of love and belief” by the staff in the leadership of Governor Oyebanji. He encouraged the staff to remain steadfast in their support and commitment to the transformation agenda of the administration.

Similarly, the Executive Secretary of the local government, Hon. Sule Fatai, commended the staff for their active participation, stating that their unity and commitment are critical to the success of grassroots governance. “What you have done is not just political; it is a demonstration of hope, unity, and a desire to see continuity and development thrive,” he said.

In her remarks, Mrs. Akinbobola Deborah-B, the Head of Local Government Administration, was full of praise for the staff’s turnout, describing it as both inspiring and reassuring. “Your visible presence at the endorsement rally is a reflection of the unity, strength, and forward-thinking mindset of our local government workforce. This is the spirit we must uphold as we move towards a brighter and more prosperous Ekiti,” she said.

The event, which brought together thousands of supporters from across the state, has been widely hailed as a turning point ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election, with many calling for the momentum to be sustained for the sake of progress and political stability.
