Legislators Advised to Shun Personal Interest and Allow Hitch-Free Passage of Impactful Legislative Bills in the Interest of Constituents: As Dr. Jayeola Speaks Loud On Crest 96.1FM, Akure.

Legislators Advised to Shun Personal Interest and Allow Hitch-Free Passage of Impactful Legislative Bills in the Interest of Constituents: As Dr. Jayeola Speaks Loud On Crest 96.1FM, Akure.

Today Monday, 21st April 2025 the leading aspirant for the seat of Member, Ondo State House of Assembly for Akure North in the state constituency come 2027, Omoluabi Dr.Jayeola was a guest on the Crest 96.1FM as he did justice to the topic 'Legislation, Governance and Politics in the Nigeria State'.

He stressed the need for a mutual understanding between the executive and the legislative armat both state and national level. The idea of causing unnecessary logjam and bottle necks for the passage of bills which are supposed to benefit the people is an old fashioned style of legislation. The university don advised that personal interests should be subdued, while the collective interest of the people who gave the mandates to their representatives should be the priority of ideal legislators.

In his analogy, he said a clear comparison of the Bukola Saraki led Senate was a serious problem for the immediate past president, Muhamud Buhari as alot of critical bills which were meant to address pressing situations and needs of the people was made to perish in the hallowed chamber. He said Nigeria now enjoying a smooth rapor between the incubent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Akpabio who heads the Senate chamber at this time , should be applauded. Today a lot have been achieved from such collaboration between the executive  and the legislative arm. He said Akpabio's conduct as a Senate President should not be taken for a rubber stamped Senate President. He has an outstanding political history and rich cv that portrays him as a qualified Senate President who can identify right from wrong.

In the case of Ondo State, he advised that the good people of Ondo State should allow His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa take his time to make appropriate choices of his commissioners as long as it is still within the gestation period of 180days from the date of his swearing-in. Dr. Jayeola said since government is a continuum, all ongoing projects should be continued with or without commissioners. He used the medium to appeal to Mr. Governor who at the moment is the father of the state, to complete all inherited projects while His Excellency was applauded for embarking on the Akure-Idanre road dualization project.

Omoluabi Dr. Jayeola, applauded political leaders at party hierarchy for giving the youths ample opportunities to play roles in governance. He said this is a welcome idea as leaders of tomorrow should be given the  sense of responsibility and made to learn the routine of leadership and public service. He applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the leverage for youths to emerge under his watch and mentorship.

On a closing note, Dr. Jayeola said all handsmust be on deck to make Nigeria and Ondo State a better place by encouraging our democracy to continue to grow till we get there as a people.
