"I am happy that our people in Ikere Ekiti are reciprocating what Governor Oyebanji has done. The Ado-Ikere dual carriage way is wearing a new look, while the Moshood road in the heart of this town had been reconstructed with asphalt overlay.

"The reconstruction of Ikere-Ilawe road and Ikere-Igbara Odo road are nearing completion. These are besides the series of appointments given to our people.

"The governor deserves our support and we must reciprocate his good deeds by showing commitment to the success of his administration .

"As of now, Ekiti has about 20 ongoing road projects across the three senatorial districts.

"Our governor is a friend of everybody: the opposition, civil servants, traders, drivers, teachers, vulnerable groups are all his friends, no discrimination. He doesn't oppress anybody with power, so he deserves our respect and support, let us give it to him in the interest of our dear state", she said.

Mrs Afuye described Adegboye dynasty as respectable royal family, who has contributed to Ikere Ekiti in all ramifications, urging the family to sustain the legacy of the late patriarch by eschewing hatred for them to retain the respect being accorded the lineage.

"This family is known for honour, honesty, sincerity, integrity, and valour, let us sustain all these virtues. The Ekiti State Government has intensified efforts to boost agriculture and youth participation in agribusiness by clearing 3,000 hectares of land for mechanised farming.

The Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, disclosed this during a radio programme in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday. He noted that the initiative aligns with the government’s strategy to drive job creation and economic growth through agriculture.

"The state government will continue to develop agribusiness and attract youths to farming, to create employment and empower the people in the state," Olatunbosun said.

He added that the 2025 budget prioritizes agriculture, underscoring the administration's commitment to positioning Ekiti as a hub for agribusiness and food security.

The commissioner also cautioned residents against indiscriminate bush burning during the dry season, emphasizing the risk of fire outbreaks and property damage.

"This warning is crucial to prevent unnecessary loss of lives and property to fire," Olatunbosun stated. He further warned, "The government will not hesitate to bring offenders to justice."

In a related development, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, revealed ongoing interventions to sustain food production systems.

"As of last week, we mobilised another 24 local contractors for land clearing for youths, communities, and cooperatives. Most of them have moved to the sites. No holidays in food production systems," Boluwade said.

He stressed the need for consistent and sustainable interventions to address the state’s food deficit and ensure food security.

"Effective 2025, we will start seeing the outcomes of these initiatives by the populace in our food systems and a downward food inflation curve with the activation of Ilu Eye Trading Company, which has commenced agri-products aggregation from farmers and clusters," Boluwade added.

With these measures, the Ekiti State Government is demonstrating its resolve to strengthen agriculture, create job opportunities for the youth, and address food security challenges effectively.

Speaking with Journalists shortly after the visit, the Senate Leader noted that Governor Oyebanji’s inclusive leadership style has created a new Ekiti where everyone feels valued and important, stressing that the development has now built trust and mutual respect among the citizens.

He maintained that the Governor has banished politics of acrimony and has instead fostered a sense of belonging among all Ekiti people.

While acknowledging that the Governor’s administration has been marked by significant progress in the areas of Infrastructure, education, and human capital development, Senator Bamidele said these achievements were made possible by the Governor’s deliberate efforts at ensuring peace and inclusivity in governance.

He urged Ekiti people to rally round the Governor so as to be able to sustain the ongoing transformation the state is witnessing.

“Well, I am here to pay homage to my Governor, and to God be the glory we are now enjoying the new Ekiti that God has given to us and when I say we are enjoying the new Ekiti, I mean we now have a state where everyone feels and nurses a sense of belonging, there is no outcast, no division, not even in our party, its no longer about whether you are for or against the Governor.

“A lot of people who ordinarily would have been afraid to even go pass my street not to talk of coming to my house were there to celebrate Christmas with me, this truly goes to show we are indeed having a new political order in Ekiti and if you were not involved in the acrimony of the past you will not understand what it means.

“For the first time in the history of this state, we have a Governor who does not draw a line of demaction between the ruling party and opposition party. The Governor noted that the state’s diversity is its strength, just as he urged citizens to prioritize their collective goals over individual interest.
