VENITE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TAKE LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM.

On Tuesday, 29 September 2026, students of the Department of Criminology and Security Studies, Venite University, Iloro-Ekiti, visited the Ekiti State High Court and the Ekiti State Police Headquarters, Ado-Ekiti, as part of the University’s commitment to experiential learning and real-world industry experience.

The academic field visit was organised by the Academic Engagement and Linkages Committee, Venite University, Iloro-Ekiti.

At the Ekiti State High Court, students observed court proceedings and saw the administration of justice in practice.

They witnessed how cases are called, how evidence is presented, and how fair hearing and the rule of law are upheld.

At the Ekiti State Police Headquarters, the students received practical lessons on crime prevention, community policing, professional crime management, and responsible citizenship.

The visit connected classroom theories with real-world practice and gave students firsthand exposure to key institutions within the criminal justice system.

The delegation included the Chairman of the Academic Engagement and Linkages Committee, the representative of the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ayo Atunramu, the Dean of the College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences, the Heads of Programme for Criminology and Security Studies and Mass Communication, and other members of the Linkages Committee.

Dr. Atunramu commended the Ekiti State Judiciary and the Ekiti State Police Command for their partnership and support in providing practical learning opportunities for Venite University students.

Venite University strongly believes learning goes beyond the classroom. Students should gain the knowledge, exposure and practical experience needed to thrive in the real world.
