Ajijola Backs APC LG Chairmanship Candidates, Highlights Grassroots Development.
Chief Lateef Ajijola, popularly known as “Always Standing,” has reaffirmed his support for the APC chairmanship candidates in Ado Local Government, Ado Central LCDA and Ado North LCDA.
Ajijola, the Executive Director of the South West Development Commission, stated that his commitment to grassroots political development remained unwavering, stressing the need for leadership that would bring governance closer to the people.
In a statement issued by his Media Office, Ajijola endorsed David Taiwo for Ado Local Government, Tokunbo Adeparusi for Ado Central LCDA and Tokunbo Gbadamasi for Ado North LCDA.
He described grassroots governance as a critical foundation for meaningful development, noting that effective local administration should prioritise the needs of the people, strengthen community participation and create opportunities for inclusive development.
Ajijola said his support was rooted in his desire to see leadership at the grassroots level focused on people-oriented governance, community empowerment, responsive administration and sustainable socio-economic development.
He further stressed that strong grassroots institutions remained essential to translating government policies and programmes into tangible benefits for residents.
The statement added that Ajijola would continue to identify with initiatives and candidates whose political activities are presented as being focused on strengthening grassroots participation and advancing development across the communities.
The development comes amid growing political activities ahead of the local government elections, with stakeholders across the political divide engaging communities and expressing their positions on candidates and issues of local governance.
