The ongoing completion of the massive Civic Centre in Ise-Ekiti, facilitated by Senator Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, marks another significant intervention aimed at providing the people with a modern, spacious and functional facility for civic, cultural, social and community activities.

The intervention reflects Senator Adaramodu’s commitment to supporting community development through infrastructure that will serve generations, while providing a befitting platform for major gatherings, public engagements, cultural celebrations and other activities that contribute to the social and economic life of the community.



A similar intervention is also being undertaken in Ikere-Ekiti through the 5,000-capacity Adegoriola Hall at the Palace of the Ogoga of Ikere.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti South Senatorial District has inaugurated a seven-member reconciliation committee to promote peace, unity and understanding among party members in Senatorial District Constituency 1.

The committee, constituted by the APC South Senatorial District Executive under the leadership of High Chief Akindele Akinbobola, is saddled with the responsibility of strengthening internal harmony and resolving disagreements among members at the grassroots.



The committee is headed by Apolola Richard as Chairman, while Engr. Fakoyede, Engr. Omole, Barrister Bayo Idowu, Hon. Atere and Hon. (Barr.) Amire will serve as members. Afuye Oluwaseun will serve as the Secretary.

The inauguration is part of efforts by the party leadership to deepen reconciliation, foster unity and ensure that members work together in the overall interest of the APC and the development of Ekiti South Senatorial District.

Speaking on the initiative, the party leadership said the committee would work closely with stakeholders and members across the various units to identify areas of disagreement, promote dialogue and encourage peaceful coexistence.

The committee is expected to take its peace-making efforts to the grassroots, particularly the various wards and units within the constituency, with a view to strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements.

The initiative is also expected to reinforce the commitment of the APC South Senatorial District leadership to inclusive leadership, internal democracy and a united party structure capable of delivering on its political objectives.

The reconciliation committee has therefore been charged to approach its assignment with fairness, maturity and dedication, while putting the collective interest of the party above individual interests.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) State Congress Committee has been formally inaugurated at the State Party Secretariat, with members charged with the responsibility of overseeing and coordinating the conduct of the forthcoming State Congress.

The eight-member committee is chaired by Chief Alaba Abejide, while Rt. Hon. Karounwi Oladapo serves as Secretary. Other members are Hon. Aladeg­bami, Bar. Ade Omonijo, Hon. Femi Awe, Mr. Mike Akinleye, Chief (Mrs.) Ronke Okunsanya, who represents the women bloc, and Chief (Mrs.) Kemi Olaleye.

The committee comprises representatives drawn from the various federal constituencies, with Chief Alaba Abejide representing North Federal Constituency 1 as Chairman; Hon. Aladegbami representing North Federal Constituency 2; Bar. Ade Omonijo representing South Federal Constituency 1; Hon. Femi Awe representing South Federal Constituency 2; Mr. Mike Akinleye representing Central Federal Constituency 1; and Rt. Hon. Karounwi Oladapo representing Central Federal Constituency 2.

Inaugurating the committee, the party chairman charged members to carry out a thorough and credible assignment, urging them to consider all tendencies within the APC.

He also noted that matters relating to party discipline remain at the discretion of the party, stressing the need for members of the committee to operate within the party's established guidelines and directives.

Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Chief Alaba Abejide, expressed appreciation to the party leadership for considering the members worthy of being entrusted with the responsibility.

Abejide assured the party and the Governor that the committee would not fail in the assignment, stressing their readiness to engage stakeholders across the party.

“We are prepared to move out, to consult, to dialogue.”

Also speaking, the Secretary of the Committee, Rt. Hon. Karounwi Oladapo, thanked the Governor for entrusting the committee with the assignment.

Karounwi assured that the committee would discharge its responsibilities diligently, promising that there would be no cause for regret over the confidence reposed in them.

The committee, which is expected to ensure that the State Congress is conducted in accordance with the APC's guidelines and directives, swiftly swung into action immediately after the inauguration and commenced work.

The members are expected to embark on consultations and dialogue with relevant stakeholders as part of efforts to ensure a smooth, credible and orderly congress process.

SENATOR YEMI ADARAMODU DELIVERS ICT CENTRE IN OMUO-EKITI, COMMITS TO DIGITAL LITERACY FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.



Senator Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, has delivered and fully equipped a modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in Omuo-Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government Area, as a strategic intervention to expand digital access, equip young people with relevant technological skills and position constituents to take advantage of opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital economy.


The completion of the ICT Centre comes at a significant time, as Senator Adaramodu is also championing the proposed Artificial Intelligence Academy in Omuo-Ekiti through a Bill currently before the National Assembly. The Bill has successfully scaled the public hearing stage and is now set for further consideration by the Senate, with the objective of transmitting it to the President for assent.



With the ICT Centre and the proposed AI Academy, Senator Adaramodu is laying the foundation for a stronger technology ecosystem in Ekiti South, demonstrating a forward-looking approach to representation that goes beyond conventional infrastructure to invest in digital literacy, innovation and the knowledge and skills required to prepare the next generation for the future economy.

The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Prof. Tomola Obamuyi, has commended the Governor and Visitor to the institution, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, for approving 60 percent increment of subventions to the University and the immediate implementation of the Federal Government agreements with staff unions.

The announcement of the interventions was made on Monday, August 17, 2026, in a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan.

In his response, Prof. Obamuyi described the approvals, which take immediate  effect, as timely and  welcome developments that would restore normalcy to the campus and preserve academic integrity and the academic calendar.

The VC said, "The announcement is heartwarming. And coming two weeks after the governor approved N1.1 billion bailout for our University,  it shows that the governor has listening ears and is concerned about the welfare of members of the university community and the education of the students.

"With these interventions, we can all heave a sigh of relief as they will put an end to the ongoing strike action of the academic staff and nip in the bud the proposed industrial action by the other unions.

These subventions, which are for all the state-owned institutions, speak to the love the governor has for education.

"We assure Mr Governor that the subventions would be judiciously utilised."

Prof. Obamuyi added that the development would lift staff morale and lead to increased academic and administrative output.

 In a bold push to institutionalize inclusive growth and expand socio-economic frontiers for women, the Ekiti State Government has flagged off a strategic five-day workshop dedicated to the development and domestication of the Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy.

Running from August 17th to 21st, 2026, at the Ministry of Women Affairs Multipurpose Hall within the Secretariat Complex in Ado-Ekiti, the high-level engagement brings together top-tier government functionaries, technocrats, and development experts.

The strategic sessions are hosted by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in collaboration with the Nigeria Governors' Forum under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq. The initiative aims to formulate localized framework indicators carefully tailored to the state’s distinct economic peculiarities, ensuring that women across the grassroots and urban sectors are structurally integrated into wealth creation pipelines.


The opening phase of the workshop drew an impressive roster of key state actors and institutional leaders committed to mainstreaming gender parity. Among those in attendance were the Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi; the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Otunba Kayode Fasae; and the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Princess Adetoun Agboola. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security was represented by its Permanent Secretary, who stood in for the Commissioner, Mr. Babatope Ojo.


Providing vital technical direction for the policy domestication process are distinguished consultants, including renowned WEE Policy Consultant Prof. Olabisi Aina and Dr. (Mrs.) Yemisi Afolabi.

The robust multi-sectoral dialogue also featured critical contributions from the Director-General and Special Adviser for the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Engr. Moyo Ekundayo; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Dr. Sunday Omoya; and the Ekiti State Statistician-General, Mrs. Dolapo Dasola-Ojo.


Operating under four foundational institutional pillars, Agriculture, Labour, Wealth Creation, and Emerging Industries, the newly minted framework positions the Ministry of Women Affairs as the central coordinating midwife. It is tasked with overseeing seamless data and information sharing across all partnering sectors.


To transition from conceptual blueprint to actionable execution, participating ministries are mandated to constitute dedicated four-person delegations. These teams must incorporate a designated technical expert charged with aligning institutional operational realities with sustainable, long-term pathways for women's economic integration.

Delivering her remarks on the vision behind the roadmap, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Pastor Olapeju Babafemi, expressed profound optimism regarding the profound positive impact the policy framework will yield for women across the Land of Honour. She emphasized that the Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration remains resolute in translating policy commitments into tangible, life-transforming opportunities that bolster household livelihoods and drive sustainable community development across Ekiti State.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has charged leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State to remain united and mobilise total support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election

The Governor gave the charge on Monday at an APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado Ekiti, where an eight-member committee was set up to oversee preparations for the ward, local government and State congresses scheduled for September this year. 

The committee is headed by Chief Alaba Abejide, Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.


Addressing the stakeholders at the meeting , Governor Oyebanji explained that the congress would be crucial to the party’s preparation for the December local government election, as well as the 2027 general elections. He urged the stakeholders to embrace unity and inclusivity with a view to stabilizing and strengthening the party at the grassroots.

The Governor stressed that the forthcoming congresses must be handled in a manner that would accommodate all interests within the party, noting that a peaceful, transparent and inclusive process would further strengthen the APC at the grassroots and fortify the stability which the party currently enjoys in the state.


While commending the leaders and members of the party for their collective efforts and unity that produced victory for the part in the June 20 governorship election, the Governor said the congresses must be conducted in a way that would position the party for victories in successive elections beyond 2030.

Governor Oyebanji said “we have broken the jinx of consecutive tenure, we have to break another jinx when I leave in 2030, another APC person must emerge and the foundation for that is this congresses.

“This congress has implication for a lot of things; it has implication for the local government election in December, it has implication for the presidential and the national and state assembly in January and febuary respectively. We have a tradition that have worked for us and that is what we are still going to follow. The leaders must do everything to ensure that we have a strong party that will in another four years produce another governor.”

Speaking further, Governor Oyebanji said he had absolute confidence in Chief Abejide’s ability to do a good job.  

“Once again I appeal to us all that we need to give our best to our President, he has been so good to us, he has been extremely supportive and this is the only opportunity to say thank you”, he added. 


Earlier in his remarks, APC State Chairman, Mr Sola Elesin congratulated the Governor on his re-election, describing the victory as historic as it marked the breaking of the jinx of a sitting Governor securing second term in office in Ekiti state

The Chairman commended party leaders and members for their commitment and contributions, which he said were instrumental to the overwhelming victory secured at the pool. He urged them to sustain the momentum by ensuring a massive turnout of voters in the subsequent elections, stressing that the party must remain focused and committed to mobilizing the electorate particularly ahead of the 2027 general election. 

Also in his remarks, former Governor Segun Oni, who stressed the need for all stakeholders to rejig their strategies and strengthen their mobilization efforts ahead of the forthcoming presidential election, urged them to focus on increasing voter turnout by deepening grassroots engagement and ensuring that supporters are adequately mobilized to participate in the election.



Also present at the event were, the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, Secretary to the State Government, Prof Habibat Adubiaro, Chief of Staff, Mr Niyi Adebayo, and Leaders of the Party across the state.
