Women Inclusion at Work: APC Leaders Back Kemi Elebute Halle for House of Representatives.
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti North Federal Constituency I have endorsed Engr. Kemi Elebute Halle as the preferred candidate for the House of Representatives seat ahead of the party primaries.
The endorsement, according to party stakeholders, was part of efforts to promote gender inclusion and ensure that women are adequately represented among Ekiti State’s delegation at the Green Chamber.
Elebute, an engineer, entrepreneur and grassroots politician, recently concluded her ward tour across the constituency with a visit to wards in Ikole Local Government Area, where party members and supporters received her warmly.
Described by supporters as experienced, intelligent and community-driven, the female aspirant is said to possess strong leadership qualities, administrative competence and a deep understanding of the developmental needs of the constituency.
Party leaders who spoke during the tour noted that her consistency in party activities, accessibility to the grassroots and passion for youth and women empowerment distinguished her among other aspirants contesting the seat.
They added that her educational background, professional experience and commitment to human capital development positioned her as a credible candidate capable of delivering effective representation at the National Assembly.
Elebute, who remains the only female aspirant among several male contenders for the Ekiti North Federal Constituency I seat, thanked party leaders for the confidence reposed in her and promised not to disappoint the people if elected.
She pledged to justify the trust placed in her by attracting meaningful development, promoting inclusive governance and giving priority attention to women, youths and vulnerable groups across the constituency.
Speaking at the conclusion of the ward tour, Elebute said the growing support from party leaders and members reflected the desire of the people for competent, compassionate and people-oriented representation.
Political observers within the constituency described her endorsement as a bold step towards strengthening women’s participation in politics and advancing gender balance within the ruling party.
The development also appeared to align with the recent position of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the need for greater inclusion of women and youths in the nation’s political process.
In a statement issued ahead of the commencement of the APC primaries nationwide, Tinubu urged party leaders and delegates to give “special consideration” to women and youths, stressing that the country could not afford to relegate the two critical demographics.
“The inclusion of women and youth is dear to my heart,” the President stated. “We cannot afford to relegate the two significant demographics of our population.”
The President further encouraged party leaders at all levels to ensure fairness, unity and a level playing field during the primaries, while commending consensus-building efforts within the party.
Supporters of Elebute maintained that her endorsement reflects the APC’s commitment to progressive politics, inclusiveness and merit, noting that her emergence would further encourage women to actively participate in leadership and governance.
