IILG Unveils 7th Children Parliament Leaders Amid Academic Excellence And Vision.

The atmosphere at the Irepodun Ifelodun Local Government (IILG) Legislative Chamber today was a compelling blend of brilliance, discipline, and academic excellence, as students from Ekiti Baptist High School, Igede; Okunsusi/Jemiriye High School; and Awo Community High School converged to demonstrate leadership capacity and intellectual depth.
The event, centered on the emergence of leaders for the 7th Children Parliament, provided a platform for the students to articulate visionary ideas on governance and leadership. Each participant showcased not only academic strength but also a profound understanding of responsibility, character, and service—qualities essential for future legislative leaders.
In his address, the Executive Chairman of Irepodun Ifelodun Local Government, Honourable Oluwagbenga Oluwatuyi (CHENCO), commended the students for representing their schools with distinction. He charged them to remain bold, visionary, and purposeful, emphasizing that "leadership begins with courage and clarity of purpose." He encouraged them to make their families, the local government, and Ekiti State proud by striving for excellence.
Also speaking, the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Daramola Mubo, described the opportunity as a rare privilege and a foundational step in nurturing future leaders. She noted that" such exposure will help students identify their strengths and weaknesses while refining their skills in writing, speaking, and critical thinking,'. She further appreciated the Chairman for his humility and unwavering support for youth development.
Similarly, the Head of Legislative Affairs (HLA), Mrs. Akinbobola Deborah-Bosede, urged the participants to stay focused and motivated, reminding them that the nation looks up to them as catalysts for growth and transformation.
In addition, nine other outstanding participants were selected, bringing the total number of representatives to eleven for the 7th legislative session in Irepodun ,/Ifelodun Local Government,they are: Idowu Samuel, Olabode Happiness, Akindele Simeon, Kosomolate Israel, Adesina Adebola, Egunjobi Blessings, Oladele Toyosi, Ayodele Janet, Akomolafe Morayo, and Adekunle Kehinde.
In her closing remarks, the Director of Community Services, Mrs. Adeniyi L.T., encouraged the newly selected representatives to live up to the expectations of leadership and to pursue excellence with determination, while assuring those not selected that greater opportunities lie ahead.
In a heartfelt response, the newly sworn-in Leader, Honourable Aladesua Elizabeth, expressed deep appreciation to the Chairman and stakeholders for their guidance and support, pledging that the team would rise to the responsibility and deliver beyond expectations by the grace of God.
The event concluded on a high and emotional note with the administration of the Oath of Office, marking the official inauguration of the 7th Children Parliament representatives—a symbolic and inspiring beginning of a journey toward leadership, service, and impact.
