OJUAWO HOLDS ANNUAL IFTAR WITH MUSLIM COMMUNITY.
…Urged to run for another term.
In keeping with his long-standing tradition of promoting unity, religious tolerance, and inclusiveness within his constituency, the Honourable Member representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency I, Hon. (AVM Rtd) Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo, recently hosted his annual Iftar with members of the Muslim community in Ise/Orun Local Government Area.
The event brought together Muslim faithful, community leaders, and clerics under the leadership of Sheikh Ayolo Usman Bakare, Vice President of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ekiti State and the Chief Imam of Ise Central Mosque. The gathering provided an opportunity for spiritual reflection, communal bonding, and prayers for the continued progress of the constituency. The Muslim leaders and faithful also used the occasion to encourage Hon. Ojuawo to run for another term in order to consolidate on the developmental strides recorded in the constituency.
In his remarks, Hon. Ojuawo expressed deep appreciation to the Muslim community for their unwavering prayers and support. He urged the clerics and faithful to continue praying for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Ise/Orun, Ekiti State, and Nigeria as a whole.
According to him:
“God has a unique way of doing things that often goes beyond human understanding. It is remarkable that this year the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent commenced around the same period. This presents a rare opportunity for both Muslims and Christians to come together in prayer and reflection for the peace and progress of our communities.”
He further encouraged the Muslim faithful to use the holy month of Ramadan as a period to intensify prayers for the people of Ise/Orun, Ekiti State, and the nation at large, particularly as the state prepares for its forthcoming gubernatorial election.
In his response, the Chief Imam, Sheikh Ayolo Usman Bakare, described Ramadan as a sacred period devoted to devotion, charity, repentance, and spiritual renewal. He commended Hon. Ojuawo for his consistent engagement with the Muslim community and his commitment to fostering unity and development across the constituency.
Special prayers were also offered for Hon. Ojuawo’s continued success in leadership and for divine guidance as he prepares to seek a second term in office.
The clerics equally prayed for leaders at all levels and for sustained peace, unity, and prosperity among the people of Ise/Orun and Ekiti State.
