The inauguration of the Ekiti State Governorship Campaign Council has further boosted confidence within the All Progressives Congress as the party intensifies preparations for the June 20, 2026 gubernatorial election. The composition of the council, which brings together prominent political leaders and key stakeholders from across the state, has been widely described as a strategic move aimed at positioning the party for a decisive victory at the polls.

The campaign council is chaired by the Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, whose vast political experience, leadership strength, and deep understanding of Ekiti’s political terrain are expected to play a crucial role in coordinating the party’s campaign activities throughout the state.

Reacting to the development, Bayo Ajayi, a professional engineer and politician from Emure-Ekiti, commended the leadership of the APC for assembling what he described as a formidable, inclusive, and result-oriented campaign structure capable of delivering victory for the party in the forthcoming election.

Ajayi noted that the composition of the council clearly reflects the unity, strength, and strategic depth of the APC in Ekiti State. According to him, bringing together experienced party leaders, respected political figures, and grassroots mobilizers under a single platform demonstrates the party’s determination to run a well-coordinated and impactful campaign.

He further stated that the appointment of Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as chairman of the campaign council is a clear recognition of his proven leadership ability and commitment to the growth and development of Ekiti State. Ajayi expressed confidence that under Bamidele’s leadership, the council will effectively mobilize party members, strengthen grassroots support, and properly project the achievements of the administration of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

While reiterating his support for the governor’s second-term ambition, Bayo Ajayi also pledged to commit his personal resources and political influence toward mobilizing widespread support for the “BAO Second Term” project, assuring that he will work tirelessly to ensure the continuity of Governor Oyebanji’s administration till 2030.

He explained that the inauguration of the campaign council is a strong indication that the BAO second-term movement is firmly on course, noting that Governor Oyebanji’s performance in office has continued to earn admiration and support from Ekiti people across political and social divides.

According to Ajayi, the governor’s inclusive leadership style, dedication to infrastructural development, and people-centered policies have laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth in Ekiti State. He added that these achievements will form the central message of the APC’s campaign as the party seeks a renewed mandate from the electorate.

Ajayi also called on party members, stakeholders, and supporters across the sixteen local government areas of the state to rally behind the campaign council and work collectively toward securing a landslide victory for the APC in the June 20, 2026 election.

“With the calibre of leaders assembled in the campaign council and the capable leadership of Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, there is no doubt that the APC is strongly positioned to achieve victory at the polls,” Ajayi said.

He further urged party faithful to remain united, dedicated, and focused throughout the campaign period, stressing that unity within the party remains its strongest weapon for electoral success.

The inauguration of the campaign council marks a significant milestone in the APC’s preparations for the gubernatorial election, strengthening optimism among party supporters that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji will secure a second term and continue the developmental strides currently being witnessed across Ekiti State.
