The Chairman of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Ekiti State Chapter, Aare Adedara Temitope Moses, has commended the Ladies’ Wing of the congress for their impactful menstrual hygiene outreach tagged Pad-Up-A-Girl-Child Initiative.

The initiative, which was spearheaded by the Deputy Chairman of the NYC, Lady Comrade Olowokere Mercy, provided free sanitary pads to young girls across the Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, as part of efforts to combat period poverty and ensure uninterrupted access to education for school-aged girls.

“The Nigerian Youth Congress stands firmly behind every effort that uplifts the lives of young people, especially girls. The Pad-Up-A-Girl-Child program is a testament to what can be achieved when we work together as a community to address the challenges that young girls face daily,” said Aare Adedara Temitope.

He continued, “I deeply appreciate the Hon. Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, and the Hon. Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Adesola Gold Adedayo, and more also our leader, Pastor Ademola Fasubaa, the chairman of the Advisory Council of the Nigerian Youth Congress — for their unwavering supports and commitments.”

Aare Adedara also lauded Comrade Fatoba Tolulope Ifemide, Ambassador Tosin Adeniran Adesuyi, and Comrade Adetunji Mandela Abe, who played active roles in ensuring the seamless execution of the program.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Ayomide Olanipekun, and the Chairperson of Pad-Up-A-Girl-Child 2025, Miss Ilesanmi Esther, were appreciated for having a very nice outing.

“In addition, I appreciate the Chief of Staff of the congress, Adedayo Abegunde, the General Secretary of the NYC, Amb. Ojo Temitope, as well as state excos. I won’t but appreciate the VC South, VC North, and VC Central of the Nigerian Youth Congress, Ekiti State, for their logistical and moral support,” he added.

According to Adedara, “The impact of the initiative would be far-reaching, particularly in giving underprivileged girls the confidence to stay in school and focus on their future.

“We are confident that this initiative will have a lasting impact on the lives of the girls who benefitted from it. It is a step towards breaking the barriers that prevent young girls from accessing education, and we are committed to supporting more programs like this in the future.

“May God continue to bless you and reward every one of you abundantly for your tireless efforts. May you continue to excel in your various endeavors and find divine favour in all that you do.”
