Group Rallies Support for BAO’s Re-election, Empowers Ilejemeje Residents.
Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State was a hub of political and humanitarian activity over the weekend as the Progressive Support Group embarked on event aimed at promoting the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and extending support to grassroots residents.
The weekend commenced with a solidarity walk tagged BAO Walk on Saturday, drawing large participation from community members. The highlight, however, came on Sunday with the Giving Back to the People outreach organized by the Progressive Support Group.
Leading the team was the group’s General Coordinator and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Mrs Babatunde Rachael, who briefed the crowd on Governor Oyebanji’s achievements and the administration’s plans for the future. She emphasized the need to sustain the development strides of the current government by supporting the governor’s second-term ambition.
“Our mission is two-fold — to sensitize the grassroots on the need to re-elect Governor Oyebanji and to demonstrate the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people,” Mrs Babatunde said.
As part of the outreach, bags of rice, garri, and other food items were distributed to residents. Selected beneficiaries also received cash empowerment as a means of economic support.
Other dignitaries on the train included Dr Makanjuola Olabode, Mrs Awotona, Mr Bamidele, and Mr Adeuya, all of whom joined in engaging and encouraging the community members.
In his remarks, the Ilejemeje coordinator of the group, Mr Oyetuyi Jeremiah, expressed appreciation for the gesture, pledging the group’s unflinching support for the governor's re-election bid. He described Governor Oyebanji as a "leader with a human face" whose policies have positively impacted the people.
The event reached its climax when members of the community and beneficiaries unanimously declared their endorsement of Governor Oyebanji for a second term in office.
“BAO as Ekiti State Governor uninterruptedly till 2030,” the crowd echoed in unison.
“With God, the deal is done,” Mrs Babatunde affirmed.
