It was a carnival of joy, cultural display, and heartfelt appreciation in Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga, rolled out a first phase of empowerment items to hundreds of constituents, marking a significant milestone in grassroots development.

The event, held at the council secretariat, was graced by traditional rulers, political stakeholders, government officials, and jubilant residents, many of whom chanted praise songs and danced to the rhythm of talking drums in gratitude for the chairman’s gesture. Women in colorful attires ululated, while youths hailed him as a true disciple of the performing governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).

In his speech, Hon. Oluwatuyi expressed deep appreciation to his supporters, describing their unwavering trust and massive votes as the bedrock of his emergence. “Without the love and support of the good people of Irepodun-Ifelodun, I wouldn’t be here today. Since the inception of this administration, the backing I’ve received has been overwhelming,” he declared.

He urged the beneficiaries — who received technology gadgets, artisan tools, and energy-based equipment — to make judicious use of the items to support their livelihoods and contribute to societal growth.

“This empowerment is a token of gratitude to my loyalists, supporters, and indeed the people of this local government. Please, don’t sell these items. Use them to build your future,” he pleaded.

The chairman assured that the empowerment is just the beginning. “This is only the first phase. More are coming. I am determined to follow the footsteps of my mentor and leader, our amiable Governor BAO, who has redefined people-centered governance in Ekiti State.”
