The Chairman of Ado Central Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Toyin Ojo, has emphasized the potential of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of society.
Engr. Ojo made this statement during the graduation ceremony for 40 PWDs held at the Ekiti State Skill Acquisition Centre, Ilokun, Ado-Ekiti, called for prioritizing their welfare and utilizing their talents effectively.
Speaking about his dedication to PWD-related issues, Engr. Ojo revealed that his zeal stems from Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s passion and commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities in Ekiti State.
“As someone inspired by the governor’s actions, I decided to emulate his approach by giving PWDs a sense of belonging and putting smiles on their faces. Governor Oyebanji has made substantial investments in the affairs of PWDs across all clusters,” he said.
Highlighting the empowerment programme, the Ado LCDA's boss noted that the beneficiaries possess the passion and potential to excel, just like their able-bodied counterparts and expressed optimism that the equipment distributed during the ceremony would help the graduates achieve financial independence.
Looking ahead, Engr. Ojo pledged to replicate similar empowerment initiatives within his LCDA next year, reinforcing his commitment to fostering inclusivity and socio-economic development in the area.
