Ekiti, widely regarded as one of the top ten safest states in Nigeria, has been a model for security and peace. However, the recent incident has raised concerns among residents and stakeholders.
The family of the abducted corps member disclosed that the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₦30 million, which was negotiated down to ₦10 million. Communication with the abductors has since been lost, leaving the family in despair.
Aare Adedara urged the Ekiti State Government, under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the Federal Government to collaborate and deploy necessary resources to ensure the swift rescue of the corps member.
He also appealed to the public to support security operatives by providing any relevant information that could aid the rescue operation. "The safety and security of every Nigerian must remain a top priority, and collective efforts are crucial to achieving this," he said.
The NYC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all youth in the state and reassured the family of its unwavering support during this difficult time.NYC Ekiti Condemns Corps Member’s Abduction, Calls for Urgent Government Action.
