Ekiti First Lady Celebrates IFTAR With Muslim Women.
....Canvasses Support for Husband's Developmental Strides.

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has solicited the support of the Muslim Community for the sustenance of developmental strides being witnessed under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Dr. Oyebanji made the call Thursday night when she hosted Muslim women to an Iftar at the Lady Jibowu Hall of the Government House, Ado Ekiti in continuation of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Addressing members of the various Muslim women groups during the breaking of the fast for the day, which was also attended by the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Adubiaro among other dignitaries appreciated the support of the Muslim Community so far for the administration led by her husband.

She described the Muslim Community as an important bloc and Ekiti Muslims prominent stakeholders in the task to develop the state and actualize the shared prosperity vision of the Governor for the enhancement of the citizens' standard of living.

The First Lady said her pet project, Widows and Orphans Hope (WAOH) and the recently launched Adire Ekiti Hub are initiatives to take many citizens out of poverty, boost human capital development and improve their worth, value and dignity.

According to her, Governor Oyebanji is determined more than ever before to make Ekiti a reference point in governance, development and investment in Nigeria and would need the support of all and sundry to achieve the feat.

While noting that she doesn't take the support of the Muslim Community, especially its womenfolk for granted, the First Lady said the Iftar offered her an opportunity to appreciate their support and solidarity with the Oyebanji Administration.

Speaking earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, expressed the gratitude of the Muslim Community to the Governor for appointing Muslims to key positions and also supporting the election of more Muslim candidates to elective positions.

Dr. Adubiaro recalled the gesture of Governor Oyebanji and his wife towards Muslim women during the Ramadan of last year and for hosting them again to an Iftar during the ongoing Ramadan which she noted has given them a sense of belonging in the state.

In his own remarks, the Chief Imam of the Government House Mosque, Alhaji Abdulfatah Olohunkemi, commended the Governor for fulfilling the promises he made to the people of the state during the electioneering campaign and living up to the expectation of the citizens.

The Muslim cleric noted that Governor Oyebanji is lucky to be blessed with a good wife who supports her husband in alleviating the suffering of the masses predicting that the couple would go places by the time they might have completed their assignment in Ekiti.

The Muslim women had earlier held prayers for the Governor, his wife, peace, progress and development of the state at the Government House Mosque before celebrating the Iftar with the First Lady at Jibowu Hall.
