The President, in his statement, emphasizes the importance of Ambassador Akawor's extensive experience in contributing to the comprehensive reformation of processes. The focus is on ensuring the efficient and productive utilization of allocations to all three tiers of government in Nigeria.

The nomination of Ambassador Desmond Akawor reflects the President's commitment to appointing individuals with a proven track record of public service and dedication to the betterment of the nation. The next step involves the confirmation process by the Nigerian Senate.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, issued the press release on November 23, 2023, underscoring the importance of this appointment in advancing effective fiscal management in the country.
