Borno State Govt Reopens Schools in Bama, Inaugurates Women/Girls Entrepreneurship School.

In a significant move towards educational revival, the Borno State Government has reopened Government Technical College and Vocational Training Center in Bama, which had been closed for over a decade due to insurgency. The Shehu of Bama, Dr. Umar Ibn Kyari Umar El-Kanemi, expressed commendation for the government's effort in reopening these educational institutions.



Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, highlighted that in addition to reopening the two schools, the government inaugurated the Zainab Gimba Second Chance Women/Girls Entrepreneurship School. This initiative utilized facilities built by the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and was sponsored by Honorable Zainab Gimba, the member representing Bama, Ngala, Kala-Balge in the National Assembly.


As a demonstration of commitment to education, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum sent 3,000 "Back to school" items, including books, uniforms, shoes, socks, bags, and textbooks, to all school children in Bama. The package also includes free meals and bus services for the students.



Hon. Baba Mala Sunoma, the Member Representing Bama Central in the Borno State House of Assembly, and Transitional Committee Chairman of Bama LGA, Hon. Grema Terab, expressed gratitude for the government's efforts in revitalizing education in the region.


Bama Emirate Progressive Associations, represented by Audu Maaji, contributed by donating money and school items, with additional contributions from Hon. Aji Kolo Gujja, the Muttawali of Bama.



The occasion was marked by the unveiling of a plaque, distribution of "Back to school" materials, and an inspection of the facilities by His Royal Highness the Shehu of Bama.
