In an attempt to fully domesticate the BAO'S shared prosperity agenda at the grassroots level in Ekiti State, The Executive Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Amb) Prince Michael Ogungbemi fcpa paid an official working visit to the office of Her Excellency, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji to bond ties on women grassroots development.  



The meeting had in attendance, Erelu Engr. Kemi Elebutte-Halle, the recently inaugurated BOT member, BAO 2026 Agenda in Ekiti State where strategic partnerships were sought to initiate and complement the women mobilization drive at the grassroots level in Ekiri State.

The impressive efforts of Her Excellency were deeply appreciated in empowering a large body of widows and orphans across the state, Adire Ekiti hub and petty traders across the length and breath of Ekiti State in the last 22months in office.

Erelu Engr. Kemi Elebute-Halle in her usual mobilization drive assured the wife of the Governor to support/assist in the empowerment and mobilization programme towards BAO continuity in office till 2030.

Complimentary roles, bond and ties were solidify in its replication at the grassroots level to bring our women out of obscured poverty into the light of prosperity in Ekiti State.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has revealed the plan of his administration for an Ado Ekiti New City project which would be a well planned residential neighborhood that exist side by side with the traditional section of the state capital. 



Governor Oyebanji said the ongoing Ring Road project which links Iworoko Road with the International Agro Cargo Airport was embarked upon to develop new areas with the long term emergence of a new city where development is controlled without altering the Ado-Ekiti traditional setting.


The Governor disclosed this on Monday during the commissioning of three new road projects in different parts of Ado-Ekiti. 

The three new roads that were inaugurated are: Jimoh Aliu-Adewumi Road along Adebayo area, Hospitals Management Board/Doctors' Quarters Road; and Obisesan-Oke Ala Link Road along Basiri area of the city. The new roads were also complemented with solar-powered street lights to facilitate illumination and boost nightlife.

The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, Aladesanmi III which was a special guest at the event cut the tape declaring one the Jimoh Aliu - Adewunmi Road; while the Hospitals Management/Doctors' Quarters Road was commissioned by the Governor himself. Obisesan-Oke Ala Link Road was commissioned by an elder stateswoman, Chief (Mrs) Ronke Okusanya; who resides on the street. 



The inauguration of the road projects in the three locations was turned to carnivals by the appreciative residents, landlords associations, transport union members, community and religious leaders, youths and students who all expressed their readiness to support the Governor for a fresh term in office.

House owners, private and commercial vehicle drivers, commercial motorcyclists hailed the Governor for spreading development and distribution of amenities to inner neighbourhood noting that transportation, commercial activities and security of lives and property have been boosted with the development.

Speaking at all the three locations, Governor Oyebanji who revealed that no fewer than 16 road projects are ongoing in different parts of the state in addition to comprehensive renovation of 11 general hospitals. 

The Governor said the communities have roles to play in the maintenance and longevity of the new roads by not blocking the drains with refuse which could render the roads waterlogged thereby damaging the roads.

He charged the landlords associations in the areas to prevent blockage of the drains and also clear them to prevent damage to the roads.

Unveiling his plan for the Ado Ekiti New City project, Governor Oyebanji said the project would cement the status of Ado Ekiti as a rapidly developing metropolis and deeply entrench modernity in the state capital while still maintaining its status as an ancient city.

He said: "Our intention is to develop Ado without altering the traditional setting because it is in our interest to keep Ado the way it is while we give people the opportunity for a new town. That is why we are constructing the Ring Road and once the Ring Road is commissioned, people are free to take positions.

"The place is going to be developed as a New City for Ado so that those that are interested in living a very well-designed environment can go to that place, build their house and development will be controlled. So, we retain the traditional Ado and we have Ado new city."


The Governor pledged that Agric Olope Road and New GRA Extension Phase One Road would be commissioned as part of activities marking the second anniversary of his administration in October while a contractor has been mobilized to site for the construction of Faglo-Basiri Road in Ado Ekiti.

He lauded the residents of the neighborhoods where the roads were commissioned and the entire people of the state for their support for his administration which he described as pivotal to execution of people-oriented polices, programmes and projects.

The Ewi, Oba Adejugbe, commended the Governor for starting well noting that the love the people of the state have for him and his administration is unprecedented because "he has been performing very well to the admiration of the people."

The royal father who also described Mr. Oyebanji as a "well brought up person" said he was not surprised that Vice President Kashim Shettima recently described him as the type of governor Nigerians need also rallied more support for him as he nears the midterm of his administration.

Other community leaders like Chief Okusanya, Chief Afolabi Ogunlade and Mr. Olusegun Arifalo who spoke on behalf of the leaders and residents of the benefiting communities assured the Governor of support for a second term bid for the good work to continue in the state.

In a bid to alleviate the long-standing water scarcity in Itagbangba Community within Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman, Prince Michael Ogungbemi, has successfully rehabilitated the abandoned hand pump borehole, restoring access to clean and potable water for residents.


The initiative, which underscores the chairman’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure in the region, has been widely applauded by the community, whose search for a reliable water source had persisted for years.



Speaking at the commissioning of the rehabilitated borehole, Prince Ogungbemi reiterated his administration's unwavering dedication to promoting development in Ajoni LCDA through targeted infrastructural projects aimed at improving the quality of life. According to him, "This rehabilitation is just one step in our broader strategic plan to ensure sustainable community development. Providing clean water is key to safeguarding the health and well-being of our people."



The rehabilitation of the Itagbangba borehole is not the chairman’s first foray into resolving water supply issues within the LCDA. The people of Ipao-Ekiti have also benefited from similar intervention efforts. The LCDA management team, under Ogungbemi’s directive, restored the community’s central motorized borehole, much to the relief of residents who had struggled with water shortages.



The chairman’s actions have further strengthened his administration's reputation for prioritizing basic amenities. As the adage goes, "He who gives water gives life," and Prince Ogungbemi has proven that with his efforts to provide this essential resource across the LCDA.

Residents of both communities expressed their gratitude for the chairman's work, commending his focus on infrastructural growth and sustainable development in Ekiti State.

This rehabilitation project stands as a testament to the ongoing progress in the Ajoni LCDA under Ogungbemi’s leadership, as efforts to tackle water scarcity issues continue to expand across the region.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, will on Monday commission three road projects in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, for use by the people of the state.

The three new roads, according to a statement by the Soecial Adviser ( Media) to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, join the harvest of people-oriented projects so far inaugurated for public use by the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji Administration in fulfilment of the fifth leg of the six-pillar agenda which is Infrastructure and Industrialization.

The new roads billed for inauguration are Hospitals Management Board-Doctors Quarters Road; Obisesan/Oke Ala Road; and Jimoh Aliu-Adewunmi Street. They are  expected to boost economic, commercial and social activities in the benefiting communities and also make commuting easier for the residents.

Governor Oyebanji has made infrastructure development a cornerstone of his administration's development agenda in order to attract investment, boost commerce, tourism and transportation.

The Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has preached religious harmony among Nigerians, warning that fanaticism is a potent destroyer of prosperity and progress of a nation.

Oyebanji pledged his unflinching commitment to maintaining a strong  balance and equality among all religions in the state to further entrench the culture and spirit of unity among diverse Nigerians.

The governor said these in Ado Ekiti, on Saturday, during the 50th Priesthood Anniversary of the Primate of the Jerusalem Church of the Lord International, Ado Ekiti, Her Eminence, Dr. Iya-Ewe Babayemi.

Oyebanji, represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, saluted the world acclaimed Cleric for her exemplary contributions to the spiritual growth of Ekiti citizens and across global community.

He described Dr. Babayemi as one of the the few priests whose imprints had been felt in the pivotal areas of community development, human empowerment and building of high social and spiritual morality.

Speaking about his unshaken believe in the doctrine and principle of religious tolerance, Oyebanji said: "Let me restate here that our governor is one leader who stoutly believes in peaceful co-existence among all the religions in the state.

" He has been preaching and exhibiting this in his actions and by way of building the spirit of brotherhood with all religious leaders, regardless of denominations. 

"This underscored that a state cannot profit anything from religious intolerance. Let us continue to see ourselves as one people in God specially created to serve Him and humanity in the most peaceful and progressive way. This is the best way to build a society we can all be proud of".

Oyebanji congratulated Dr. Babayemi for her unbruised five decades of exemplary service in God's vineyard, describing her as a honest, selfless and spiritually endowed leader in temple of God.

" 50 years of service to God Almighty is highly remarkable and worth celebrating. This particularly worths celebrating in the sense that while others are wasting away and indulging in criminalities and sins, our mother  decided to follow the light and path of truth.

"This Ministry has contributed immensely to the spiritual growth of Ekiti people, and has helped in reshaping the lives of many citizens for better. Our government and the entire citizens  are proud of the series of empowerments that had been undertaken by this Church and other special contributions that have impacted positively in the lives of Ekiti populace".

Primate Babayemi, who appreciated God for keeping her Ministry strong and blossoming for five decades, urged Nigerians to be fervent in prayers, so that the current economic situation can be reversed in no distant time.

The Cleric commended the state government under Governor Oyebanji for ensuring peace among all religions, saying this was responsible for the steady progress being witnessed in the state. 

"I believe there is nothing God can't do. Our situation is not beyond what God Almighty can do. We need prayers in our land. But let me remind you that nothing profits a man like serving God. Since I turned to Him, I have seen His glory, mercy and grace upon my life since I began this journey. I thank God it was glorious in the end".

Dr Babayemi promised to continually deploy the Ministry to ensure spiritual rebirth for citizens and contribute more to the growth of human capital resources in the state. 

"On the 3rd of March 1988, the foundation of the present main church building was laid. On the 18th of March 1989, the Lord made the pronouncement that the Church shall henceforth be named and called “Jerusalem Church of the Lord International ”. I have seen God's goodness, I believe He is kind to those who serve Him faithfully".

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Bolaji Olagbaju,  Secretary to the State Government, Dr Habibat Adubiaro, top government officials, men of God across denominations, among others.

Riding on the crest of the shared prosperity, Governor Biodun Oyebanji prioritised critical infrastructure in health, road construction, social intervention programs, massive empowerment , amongst others. Ekiti people have witnessed unprecedented development in various sectors, including social support for many vulnerable in Ekiti State. The people were fascinated by the pro-masses policy thrust of his government that placed premium on social investments and access to quality essential services like healthcare.

Even in his convergence of interest, the governor has kept to the promise and so far endeared himself to all stakeholders and the masses in Ekiti State through his unique governance style.
