President Bola Tinubu Nominates Two New Youth Ministers.

In a recent development, President Bola Tinubu has nominated Dr. Jamila Ibrahim and Mr. Ayodele Olawande to key positions in his cabinet. Dr. Jamila Ibrahim has been nominated to serve as the Minister of Youth, pending confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Mr. Ayodele Olawande, on the other hand, has been nominated to serve as the Minister of State for Youth, also pending Senate confirmation.

This announcement was made public by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released on Sunday, titled ‘President Tinubu nominated new ministers for federal ministry of youth.’

Notably, this move comes on the heels of Tinubu's recent decision to redeploy Abubakar Momoh, who was initially nominated as Youth Minister, to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, 37, is a medical doctor with a commendable track record. She most recently held the position of President of the Progressive Young Women Forum and has previously served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals.

Mr. Ayodele Olawande brings a wealth of experience as a community development expert and youth leader within the ruling All Progressives Congress. His recent role was in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation, spanning from 2019 to 2023.

These nominations mark the latest additions to President Tinubu's 47-man cabinet. In a statement, President Tinubu urged the nominees to embody the dynamism, innovative spirit, and unwavering productivity that are characteristic of Nigeria's youth as they take up their responsibilities.

This development is expected to be closely watched as the new ministers prepare to contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria's youth and the nation as a whole. Confirmation by the Senate will be the next crucial step in the process.
