Ekiti Agriculture Commissioner Inspects L-PRES Livestock Projects, Urges Communities to Protect Facilities.

Ekiti Agriculture Commissioner Inspects L-PRES Livestock Projects, Urges Communities to Protect Facilities.

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security,Mr Ebenezer Boluwade, has inspected completed livestock infrastructure projects built under the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) programme across the state.

During the visit, he urged host communities to take ownership of the facilities to ensure proper maintenance and long-term sustainability.

The inspection took the commissioner and his team to  Ijero-Ekiti, Ikere-Ekiti and Ilawe-Ekiti, where they assessed key livestock facilities provided through the L-PRES project to strengthen the livestock sector and improve hygienic meat processing.

Mr Boluwade visited the newly completed Ijero Veterinary Hospital as well as modern slaughter slabs constructed in Ikere-Ekiti and Ilawe-Ekiti.

He said the visit was aimed at evaluating the projects and ensuring they were ready to serve livestock farmers and residents.

According to him, the facilities were delivered under the L-PRES programme to improve veterinary services, strengthen animal health management and promote safe and hygienic slaughtering practices in the state.

Mr Boluwade noted that the long-term success of the projects would depend on how well the benefiting communities manage and protect them.

“These infrastructures were provided to improve livestock production and public health. Communities must take ownership, protect them from misuse and ensure proper maintenance so they can serve their purpose for many years,” he said.

The commissioner added that the projects align with the Ekiti State Government’s commitment to strengthening the livestock value chain, boosting food security and improving the livelihoods of livestock farmers.

Mr Boluwade was accompanied on the inspection by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Babatope Ojo, the State Project Coordinator of L-PRES, Olayinka Adedipe, and members of the project’s implementation unit.

A livestock processor, Adeyeye Adekunle, and a livestock farmer, Prince Dayo Ajayi, expressed appreciation to the Ekiti State Government and the L-PRES programme for providing the facilities.

They also pledged their support to ensure the infrastructure is properly utilised and protected for the benefit of the communities.

ADEQUATE REPRESENTATION: PUTTING THE RIGHT PEG IN THE RIGHT HOLE.

ADEQUATE REPRESENTATION: PUTTING THE RIGHT PEG  IN THE RIGHT HOLE.

Representation in a democratic society is not merely about occupying a seat in a legislative chamber; it is about giving voice, direction, and meaningful leadership to the people. True representation requires competence, vision, and the willingness to challenge the status quo in order to deliver tangible progress. As the race to the Green Chamber of the National Assembly intensifies, it becomes increasingly clear that the moment calls for thoughtful reflection and responsible decision-making. The people must look beyond tradition and familiarity and instead focus on electing the right individual capable of truly representing their interests.

For too long, Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1 has experienced a form of representation that has not fully translated into the level of development, advocacy, and legislative impact that the people deserve. The constituency, rich in potential and blessed with hardworking and resilient citizens, has not always received the quality of representation required to drive sustainable growth and meaningful change. Over the years, many voices within the constituency have expressed concerns about being shortchanged in terms of effective legislative presence, strategic development initiatives, and strong advocacy at the national level.

The time has therefore come for a new direction—one that prioritizes competence, integrity, and a clear vision for the future. Representation should not be about maintaining the status quo or recycling the same patterns that have yielded limited results. Instead, it should be about placing the right peg in the right hole: identifying a leader who possesses the capacity, experience, and commitment needed to transform challenges into opportunities for progress.
Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1 deserves a representative who understands the needs of the people and is prepared to champion those needs with courage and dedication at the national level. Such a representative must be accessible, proactive, and strategic in pursuing policies and programs that will benefit the constituency. The Green Chamber must not simply be a place where voices are heard occasionally; it must become a platform through which the aspirations of the people are consistently projected and defended.
This is why many stakeholders and supporters believe that the time has come to support a candidate who embodies these qualities. A leader who not only understands the responsibilities of representation but is also prepared to work tirelessly to ensure that Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1 receives the recognition, resources, and development it deserves.

In this regard, Arch. Tope Ogunleye (RST) stands out as a capable and committed individual whose vision aligns with the aspirations of the people. With a professional background that reflects discipline, planning, and development-oriented thinking, he represents the kind of leadership that can help reshape the narrative of the constituency. His candidacy symbolizes a fresh opportunity to pursue effective representation—one that focuses on empowerment, infrastructural development, youth engagement, and inclusive growth.

The race to the Green Chamber should therefore not be viewed as a mere political contest but as a crucial opportunity to reposition the constituency for greater progress. The people must ask themselves an important question: who among the contenders truly possesses the qualities required to represent them effectively and bring about meaningful change?
If the goal is to move beyond past limitations and embrace a future defined by purposeful leadership and tangible development, then the choice becomes clearer. Adequate representation demands courage, competence, and commitment. It demands the willingness to break away from patterns that have not served the people well.

The moment for reflection has arrived, and the responsibility lies with the people to make a decision that will shape the future of Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1. The call is simple but profound: put the right peg in the right hole and allow capable leadership to chart a new course for progress.

Arch. Tope Ogunleye (RST) represents that opportunity. And indeed, the time is now.

BAO’s Unprecedented Boost for Education: Ekiti Teachers Reach New Heights.

BAO’s Unprecedented Boost for Education: Ekiti Teachers Reach New Heights.
By Olamide Akinwumi.

The commitment of the Ekiti State Government to the advancement of education has once again been demonstrated through the promotion of over 5,000 primary school teachers, including 231 Head Teachers, to higher ranks in the civil service. Under the visionary leadership of Biodun Oyebanji, this historic step has elevated Head Teachers in public primary schools to Grade Level 16, a milestone never before achieved in the history of Ekiti State.

This landmark achievement reflects the fulfillment of a promise made by the governor to reposition the education sector and ensure that primary school administrators receive the recognition and professional dignity they deserve. By aligning the promotion structure of Head Teachers with that of their counterparts in the core civil service, the administration has reinforced the value placed on foundational education, which remains the bedrock of societal development.

While presenting the promotion letters, the Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, described the development as a monumental milestone in Ekiti’s education sector. According to him, the exercise clearly demonstrates the administration’s dedication to improving the welfare, motivation, and productivity of teachers who shape the future of the state’s children.

Indeed, Governor Oyebanji continues to prove that leadership is about impact, not mere promises. Through bold reforms, strategic investments, and people-centered policies, his administration is laying a strong educational foundation that will benefit generations to come. The promotion of thousands of teachers is not just a policy decision—it is a powerful statement that Ekiti values its educators and is committed to excellence in learning.

As Ekiti people witness these remarkable strides across sectors, it becomes increasingly clear that the state is on the path of sustainable progress under BAO’s leadership. For the sake of continuity, stability, and the consolidation of these transformative achievements, Ekiti Kete must stand united in support of BAO’s continuity till 2030. When purposeful leadership delivers results, the wise choice is to sustain it.

RST Intensifies Grassroots Campaign for Oyebanji, Receives Community Endorsement for House of Representatives.

A political stakeholder in Ekiti State, Hon. Architect Ronald ‘Tope Ogunleye (RST), has intensified grassroots mobilization in support of the re-election bid of Ekiti State Governor, , ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

Ogunleye made this known on Saturday during the regular meeting of the Faglo/Surulere Support Group for the governor, held in Ado-Ekiti, where landlords, members of the (APC), and community residents were in attendance.

Addressing the gathering, the APC Unit 027 Chairman, Mr. Olatunbosun Afolabi, appreciated the state government for several developmental interventions in the community. According to him, these include the provision of a brand new transformer with concrete poles and electric cables facilitated through the Senior Special Assistant on Citizens’ Rights to the Governor, Barr. Adesola Ogundele, installation of solar street lights, and the asphalt laying of the road linking Faglo/Surulere to Bawa Estate Junction.

Afolabi expressed gratitude to the governor for the projects and assured that the community would reciprocate the gesture with massive support, pledging that residents would deliver overwhelming votes for the governor in the forthcoming election.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Faglo/Surulere Support Group for Oyebanji, Pastor Yinka Akinlua, assured Ogunleye that members of the community were fully committed to mobilising residents to vote for the governor.

In his remarks, Ogunleye commended the unity and commitment of the community towards development. He urged landlords and residents to increase the voting strength of Unit 027, noting that stronger voter turnout would attract more government projects and infrastructure to the area.

As part of efforts to support community development, Ogunleye donated 50 bags of cement on behalf of Governor Oyebanji to support the ongoing construction of the Surulere Community Public Health Care Centre. He also made a cash donation to the Faglo/Surulere Support Group to assist with their meetings and mobilization activities.

The architect used the opportunity to formally inform the community of his aspiration to represent Ado/Irepodun Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, seeking the support and prayers of residents.

Responding, the Chairman of the Landlords’ Association, Mr. Olatunde Joseph, alongside other residents, expressed appreciation for the donations, noting that the gesture would significantly support the progress of the community health centre project and improve healthcare access for residents.

Members of the community present at the meeting subsequently endorsed Ogunleye’s aspiration for the House of Representatives seat.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Elder Olugbenro, followed by prayers for continued progress and sustained partnership between the community and government.

Who Changes A Winning Team?

Who Changes A Winning Team?

It's a wise saying the world over that you don't change a winning team. Not only because nothing else is needed other than winning for any team, but because in a world where talk is cheap, there are talkers more than doers and no wise man or woman would sacrifice a confirmed performer for a promise peddler.

Ekiti South Federal Constituency1 has been lucky, in fact blessed to have had a true representative and legislator in the last two and a half years in the green chambers. Even members of the chamber, drawn across the length and breath of Nigeria, made up of 360 Representatives have at different times attested to the capacity of Air Vice Marshal Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo (rtd).
Despite being a first timer in the chamber, a golden fish has no hiding place. Ojuawo has displayed uncanny capacity, performance, integrity and popularity that he became the darling of not just the members but a worthy representative of the Speaker at different fora. That's trust!
Perhaps, we should not be surprised at why Ojuawo has continued to deliver on his mandate of representation, legislation and oversight functions.

Why? The story of the Ekiti International Cargo Airport would not be complete or do we say may not even be told , if not for the dedication, forthrightness, influence and close supervision of the flying General who brought all that was needed to deliver a world class international airport in a record two years! That airport stands as a testimony and pride of Ekiti people and their resolve and ability to deliver wherever they find themselves!

Air Vice Marshal Ojuawo's activity in the green chambers since 2023 can only be achieved by a representative who came prepared. His many motions, leading debates, oversight functions in critical areas of national life and attracting dividends of democracy to his constituents and constituency are simply outstanding. (You may need to see some of these in the attached brochure).

Ojuawo has taken representation to a higher, loftier dimension, beyond tokenism and stomach infrastructure, to include community projects consisting of two large farms that have drawn the attention of global organisations, building roads, providing electricity infrastructure, facilitating medical equipment and hospital, building schools, capacity building and training for artisans/professionals and still supporting both party and individual members. All this on his honour and selfless service. Little wonder, his appellation among his colleagues in the house is 'Mr. Integrity'. In a world where everybody grabs for himself, it takes a man committed to the good of his people to stand tall and be a worthy representative.

The people of Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 can only wish that the good works continue, that the good man continues and a man who has displayed the same spirit like the performing Governor, His Excellency Biodun Oyebanji continues to deliver on an established mandate. Air Vice Marshal Adeniyi Ojuawo is the man, Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 is the mandate. Let's keep it intact!

POLITICAL STALWART HON. DE-LAW BRANDS CAMPAIGN VEHICLE FOR GOV. OYEBANJI’S RE-ELECTION BID; PREACHES PARTY LOYALTY AND CONTINUITY.

In a powerful demonstration of party loyalty and commitment to the "continuity" agenda in Ekiti State, a prominent grassroots Students' leader and former chairmanship aspirant, Hon. Comr. Lafiaji Lawrence Aanuoluwapo (popularly known as Hon. De-Law), has branded a campaign vehicle to support the re-election of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO). Hon. De-Law, a native of Ward 4 in Ayegbaju, Oye Local Government, unveiled the branded vehicle this week, citing the Governor’s "good governance and responsiveness to the needs of the masses" as the primary motivation for his support.

Despite recently vying for the Chairmanship of Oye Local Government and not securing the ticket, Hon. De-Law emphasized that his dedication to the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains unshaken. He stated that he is not discouraged by any temporary setback, noting that his belief in the party and the visionary leadership of Governor Oyebanji is far greater than any personal aspiration. He expressed a strong desire for continuity, citing the visible impact of the Governor’s work as the reason for his active involvement in the campaign.

Hon. De-Law is no stranger to public service and organizational management, bringing a wealth of experience to the campaign trail. He has previously served as the former national Speaker for the Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN), the former NANS (South West) Zone D Treasurer, and the former Stakeholders Chairman of Ekiti State University (EKSU). Beyond his political and student unionism background, he is also a successful entrepreneur as the CEO of DE-LAW MULTI RESOURCES COMPANY LIMITED.

The branding of this vehicle is seen as a significant morale booster for the BAO campaign within Oye Local Government. Hon. De-Law has pledged to do even more in the coming weeks, promising to mobilize voters across Ayegbaju and beyond to ensure a landslide victory for the incumbent Governor at the June 20, 2026 polls. By prioritizing the party’s collective success over personal political outcomes, "De-Law" continues to demonstrate selfless support for the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

OGUNLEYE RALLIES SUPPORT FOR OYEBANJI CONTINUITY, DECLARE READINESS FOR HOUSE OF REPS RACE.

OGUNLEYE RALLIES SUPPORT FOR OYEBANJI CONTINUITY, DECLARE READINESS  FOR HOUSE OF REPS RACE.

An architect and House of Representatives aspirant for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I, Ronald Temitope Ogunleye, has called on his supporters to remain loyal to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while sustaining support for the continuity agenda of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, beyond 2026.

Ogunleye made the call during a political meeting held on Saturday, March 14, at the Fajuyi Pavilion, where he sensitised members of his political structure and supporters on the importance of backing Oyebanji’s administration to consolidate ongoing development across the state.

Speaking at the gathering, Ogunleye emphasised that the progress recorded under the current administration should not be disrupted, stressing that continuity would enable the state to achieve greater socio-economic development.

Addressing his ambition to represent Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I at the House of Representatives of Nigeria, he assured his followers of his loyalty to the party and urged them to remain committed to his Divine Liberation Agenda, which he described as a vision to deliver effective representation and meaningful development to the constituency.

The aspirant cautioned supporters against being misled by what he described as “political jobbers” allegedly spreading falsehood that the party leadership had already endorsed a candidate for the constituency. According to him, such claims were baseless, adding that the party had not officially picked any candidate for the seat.

Ogunleye disclosed that he had earlier visited Governor Oyebanji, who gave him the green light to pursue his aspiration. He maintained that anyone claiming to have already been selected as the party’s candidate was misleading the public.

He further stated that he believed strongly in the leadership of the party to provide a level playing field for all aspirants. Ogunleye added that if the process eventually results in a direct primary election, he was fully prepared to participate and demonstrate his popularity among party members.

“If anyone is telling our followers that a candidate has been picked, you should also tell them that our principal has equally been picked,” he told supporters, urging them to remain focused and committed.

He also briefed his team on his earlier declaration of intention at his ward and across the constituency, reaffirming his determination to continue consultations with stakeholders and grassroots supporters.

Ogunleye concluded by seeking the prayers and support of all members of his political structure toward the realisation of his ambition, expressing confidence that unity, loyalty to the party, and faith in God would ultimately lead to victory.
