GOVERNOR BIODUN ABAYOMI OYEBANJI: A SYMBOL OF UNITY, VISION, AND CONTINUITY IN EKITI STATE.

GOVERNOR BIODUN ABAYOMI OYEBANJI: A SYMBOL OF UNITY, VISION, AND CONTINUITY IN EKITI STATE.
By Hon. (AVM Rtd) Ojuawo Rufus Adeniyi
Member, House of Representatives, Ekiti South Federal Constituency I.

“True leadership is not about self-glory, but about service that touches lives. In Governor Oyebanji, Ekiti has found a humble, visionary, and unifying leader.”
— Hon. (AVM Rtd) Ojuawo Rufus Adeniyi

A Legacy of Continuity and Progress

When His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) assumed office three years ago, he made a solemn pledge — to serve Ekiti people with humility, integrity, and purpose. Today, that promise has translated into visible achievements across every sector of the state.

From day one, Governor Oyebanji made continuity the cornerstone of his administration. He understood that governance is a relay, not a race; a process of building upon foundations laid by predecessors to ensure lasting development.

Rather than discard the projects initiated by former Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi, he completed and expanded them. The Airport project, which has received Federal Government clearance to commence full commercial operations, stands as a resounding testament to the principle of continuity. As one of the pioneer Technical Advisers on the project, I must sincerely thank Mr. Governor for not abandoning it. This singular act reflects his unwavering commitment to the growth and sustainable development of our dear state.

The  rejuvenation of the Ekiti Knowledge Zone, and the ongoing Ekiti Ring Road Project stand as visible evidence of a leader who values progress over pride.

This spirit of continuity has restored public confidence in government and ensured that every tax naira counts. Through his prudence and discipline, BAO has stabilized the state’s finances while ensuring equitable development across all local governments.

A Unifier of Leaders and People

If there is one quality that distinguishes Governor Oyebanji, it is his extraordinary capacity to unite people. In a political climate often clouded by rivalry and division, BAO has emerged as a bridge builder — reconnecting leaders, reconciling factions, and rekindling brotherhood among Ekiti’s political class.

His door is always open. He consults widely before making key decisions, and he listens attentively to advice regardless of party affiliation or social status. Under his watch, Ekiti has witnessed unprecedented political harmony and collaboration.

Through his humility, he has redefined leadership — making it more accessible, more humane, and more inclusive. Traditional rulers, political office holders, and grassroots leaders all testify to his fairness and genuine love for the people.

“BAO has proven that unity is not a slogan — it is a tool for progress. Under him, Ekiti speaks with one voice again.”

Tangible Achievements Across Sectors

Governor Oyebanji’s record of performance in just three years is remarkable. His administration has touched virtually every aspect of human life in Ekiti State.

Infrastructure and Roads:
Massive road rehabilitation and new constructions have linked rural communities to major towns, opening economic corridors and facilitating trade. The revitalization of boreholes and electricity projects across local governments has improved living conditions for thousands.

Education:
Education remains one of BAO’s strongest pillars. His government has provided modern learning facilities, recruited qualified teachers, and sustained the free education policy. Ekiti continues to rank among the top-performing states in national examinations, proving that his investment in human capital is yielding results.

Agriculture and Food Security:
Through strategic partnerships, Governor Oyebanji has revived farm settlements and provided soft loans and tools for young farmers. He is turning agriculture into a profitable business, reducing unemployment and strengthening food security.

Power and Technology:
Collaborating with experts, his administration is expanding access to sustainable energy, thereby boosting small-scale industries and attracting investors.

Welfare and Governance:
Under his leadership, Ekiti workers receive regular salaries, while pensioners have regained dignity through consistent payments. His commitment to transparency and accountability continues to earn the trust of citizens and development partners alike.

A People-Oriented Governor

Beyond policies and projects, Governor Oyebanji connects deeply with his people. He attends community events, engages youth and women groups, and supports cultural development across the state.

He is a governor who listens. Whether in Ado Ekiti, Ise/Orun, Ikere, or Emure, his presence is felt not through distant promises but through tangible action. The people see him, hear him, and trust him.

As a representative of Ekiti South Federal Constituency I, I have witnessed the transformation firsthand — in the roads rehabilitated, boreholes restored, schools upgraded, and local empowerment programmes launched. BAO’s leadership is not theory; it is action, compassion, and results.

Why He Deserves a Second Term

As we started another political season, one truth stands clear: Ekiti cannot afford to break the chain of progress.
Governor Oyebanji’s second term is not just a political necessity — it is a developmental imperative.

He has planted seeds of growth that require time and stability to mature. From infrastructure and education to industrialization and youth empowerment, his projects are long-term in vision and deep in impact.

A second term will allow him to consolidate these gains, attract more investments, and fully implement his economic transformation blueprint for Ekiti. With BAO at the helm, the future is not only promising but secure.

“Continuity is the soul of development. BAO has begun a good work; it is our duty to help him finish it.”

A Call to Collective Support

Now is the time for all Ekiti sons and daughters — home and abroad — to unite behind this noble cause. Let us rise above partisanship and support a leader whose only ambition is to see our state prosper.

Our unity is our strength. Our collective support for BAO is the assurance of a greater tomorrow. Let every ward, every community, every voice stand firm behind this man of peace and progress.

Together, let us sustain the vision, deepen the transformation, and secure a brighter future for the generations to come.

Conclusion: A Leader Worthy of Trust

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has redefined what it means to lead — with humility, integrity, and compassion. His leadership has restored unity, promoted development, and given Ekiti a new identity of peace and progress.

As a lawmaker and a proud Ekiti son, I, Hon. (AVM Rtd) Ojuawo Rufus Adeniyi, lend my full support to his cause. I urge every patriotic citizen to do the same.

Let us march together, in unity and faith, towards a greater Ekiti under the steady, trustworthy, and visionary leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his numerous developmental strides across the country, describing them as clear evidence of the President’s commitment to good governance and his deep affection for Ekiti State.

Speaking on Fresh FM in Ado Ekiti, Ojo highlighted several of the President’s major initiatives, including the removal of fuel subsidy, the establishment of cancer treatment centres across the six geopolitical zones, financial autonomy for local governments, the introduction of over loan support for students, and renewed efforts toward regional development, agriculture, and road construction; including key projects like the Ikere - Akure road and other critical coaster routes.

On the ongoing Igede - Itawure road project, the former lawmaker assured listeners that President Tinubu is already aware of the situation and would take necessary action to address it.

Ojo attributed the wave of federal appointments and opportunities coming to Ekiti to the combined influence of President Tinubu’s love for the state and the strategic efforts of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

“No governor has been able to attract so many federal appointments and projects to Ekiti like Governor Oyebanji. It is a reflection of President Tinubu’s affection for our people and the respect he has for the governor’s leadership,” Ojo stated.

He praised federal appointees of Ekiti extraction for their outstanding performance, noting that they have been working tirelessly to support party members and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

Ojo further explained that the key difference between Governor Oyebanji and past leaders is his deep understanding of the state’s history and his inclusive approach to governance.

“Governor Oyebanji was part of the struggle for the creation of Ekiti State. He’s a true son of the soil who understands our challenges. That’s why he doesn’t discriminate, he is not the governor of APC alone, but the governor of Ekiti,” he said.

Ojo’s remarks echoed the growing public sentiment that Governor Oyebanji’s humble, inclusive, and development-driven leadership deserves continuity beyond 2026, with many across party lines calling for him to stay the course till 2030.

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its forthcoming governorship primary election in Ekiti State, commendations have continued to trail the National Working Committee (NWC) for its firm, fair, and constitutionally guided approach in handling matters involving Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Engr. Kayode Ojo, and other aspirants.

The NWC’s recent verdict has been widely described as a courageous reaffirmation of party supremacy, fairness, and democratic discipline—an action that stands above public emotions and sectional sentiments. The decision, according to political observers, has restored confidence in the APC’s internal process and reinforced its image as a party of order, transparency, and justice.

Reacting to the development, the Ekiti Advancement Frontier praised the NWC for maintaining balance, impartiality, and respect for the rule of law, noting that its firm stance has created a peaceful and credible political atmosphere ahead of the October 27 primary election.

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, described as a man of peace and inclusiveness, has also continued to demonstrate rare political maturity and unwavering loyalty to the party’s constitution. His leadership style—marked by humility, continuity, and shared prosperity—has further strengthened unity within the APC fold in Ekiti.

The Ekiti Advancement Frontier therefore calls on all party members and supporters to maintain the spirit of peace and sportsmanship as the state heads into what promises to be a transparent, credible, and unifying primary election.

With the NWC’s fairness and Governor Oyebanji’s exemplary leadership, Ekiti APC remains a model of progressive democracy and responsible governance—a reflection of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the inclusive governance policy of Governor Oyebanji.

Ekiti 2026: Continuity of Good Governance Is Catalyst for Development, Prosperity ~OSV.

Ekiti 2026: Continuity of Good Governance Is Catalyst for Development, Prosperity ~OSV.

The Oyebanji Street Vanguard (OSV), a prominent grassroots political movement in Ekiti State, has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the continuity of good governance exemplified by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration till 2030, describing it as the only path to sustained progress, development, and prosperity in the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Convener of the group, HC Ade, called on all citizens and party faithful to massively support Governor Oyebanji’s bid in 2026, stressing that the governor’s track record of achievements makes him the right leader among the list to drive Ekiti to greater heights.

“Governor Oyebanji has delivered beyond expectations. From major infrastructure projects to grassroots development, he has shown what visionary and committed leadership looks like. BAO till 2030 stands for continuity, progress, development, and prosperity in Ekiti,” the group said.

Reacting to the development news on the completed Ekiti State Cargo Airport, which was recently approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for full commercial flight operations, the group described the project as a major economic breakthrough for the state under Governor Oyebanji’s watch.

“This is a landmark achievement for Ekiti people. The Cargo Airport is not just a project; it is a gateway to new opportunities in commerce, agriculture, logistics, and tourism. It will create jobs, open up markets, and place Ekiti on the national and global map. Only a government with foresight and sincerity can deliver such a milestone,” the group noted.

They stressed that such achievements underscore the need for continuity in leadership, stating that no other aspirant or political interest can match the credibility, stability, and developmental focus that BAO brings to the table.

The group also cautioned party members and the public to remain vigilant and ignore any misleading information or rumour being circulated by what they described as “regular other aspirants' media teams,” who, according to them, are bent on sowing seeds of discord within the party and among progressive people in the state.

“Propaganda, innuendos, fake and unsubstantiated news, falsehood, fabrications, etc., are usually willing weapons in the hands of any weak aspirant or political party in a period like this when election is at hand.

Whereas, it is obvious that all party leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the ward level to Abuja are fully in support of BAO's continuity till 2030,” they affirmed.

The group urged party faithful to remain united, focused, and loyal, applauding Governor Oyebanji for his inclusive leadership and genuine relationship with stakeholders at all levels.

“BAO is not just a performing governor, he is a true party man. He has stood by all members, from the grassroots to the national level, with love, humility, and unwavering commitment. He is the only Omo Ologo capable of taking Ekiti and our great party to greater heights,” he added.

The group — OSV — reiterated their commitment to sustained grassroots mobilization across all the nooks and crannies of the 16 local government areas in the state, assuring that it will work tirelessly to ensure overwhelming victory for BAO in the 2026 elections and beyond.

As the 2026 political calendar draws near, the group noted that the reality and imperative of continuity of good governance, anchored on the platform of political stability, is no doubt the clear path to economic development and progress for the state.

Oyebanji’s Administration Setting Ekiti on Path of Economic Greatness - COS.

Oyebanji’s Administration Setting Ekiti on Path of Economic Greatness - COS.
....as govt unfolds activities marking 3rd anniversary.

The huge investment of the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in aviation, agriculture, heathcare and  infrastructure in the last three years, have succeeded in ramping up public facilities and  setting the state firmly on the path of economic greatness.

Accordingly, the Governor is not going to relax in the implementation of his six-pillar development agenda. Instead, his administration is poised to do a lot more in the coming year.

This was disclosed in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, at a press conference marking the third anniversary of the Biodun Anayomi Oyebanji administration.

Addressing journalists at the press conference, the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, who is also the Chief of Staff to the Governor, saluted the citizens for their commitment and support in the execution of government policies, describing this as a veritable impetus to deliver the best for Ekiti populace.

Adebayo said the administration has made tremendous impact in the areas of road infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, rural development and other thematic sectors of the economy, thereby making Ekiti a destination of choice for investors and tourists.

To mark the administration's third anniversary, Adebayo  revealed that many life-changing projects, like: Ikere- Igbara-Odo road, Ogotun-Ikogosi road, Isinbode-Ara-Ikole road, Ado Ekiti Ring Road Phase 1 that traversed over six major towns, Omu-Ijelu-Itapa road, spotless hotel road at GRA Area, GRA Third extension road, and others, will be commissioned to add value to the state's economic fabrics.

In the area of human services, he added that five general hospitals that were recently given comprehensive rehabilitation and equipped with state of the art facilities, would inaugurated for use by the people.

In the area of agriculture, Adebayo disclosed  that over 5,000 youths had been encouraged to fully engage in commercial agriculture through cluster farming taking cognisance of Ekiti's favourable comparative advantage in farming.

He maintained that the geometric increase in the level of food product  accounted for why the state was rated as having the least incidence of food inflation in the country by the National Bureau of Statistics.

"Road infrastructures were being strategically provided to open up the state to new economic opportunities. Knowing our strength in agriculture, we are doing free land clearing and encouraging the youths into commercial farming.

"Go round the cluster farming sites that we have provided, we are  building dormitories that were  reminiscent of the farm settlements provided by Chief Obafemi Awolowo's administration during the old western region. These were meant to encourage our youth and for Ekiti to assume food security status.

"Over 5,000 of them have been brought in and fully engaged and we are still looking at encouraging more. You can imagine the economic impact of removing such huge number of youths from the unemployment market in a state like ours.

"While celebrating, we are not going to rest until Ekiti is fully placed on the path of economic prosperity. We will keep on delivering the dividends of democracy to our people in line with the shared prosperity vision of this government".

Adebayo congratulated the citizens over approval granted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA) for full -fledged commercial operation of the Ekiti State International Cargo Airport.

He averred that  this milestone will help in transforming the landscape and serves as a springboard for the the state's economic  potentials.

The Governor  described aviation industry as a way of creating a leverage for the state in terms of businesses and investments' competitiveness nationally and globally and a window to market its potentials to investors who can change the economic narratives through effective diversification process.

Other members of the planning committee at the briefing include the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Habibat Adubiaro, Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi; State Chairman of APC, Barrister Sola Elesin; Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Rt.
