Oluwatuyi Urges Staff to Graciously Re-Elect Governor Oyebanji's Sustaining Progress.
By Asubiojo G. O.
The Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga (popularly known as CHENCO), has charged staff of the Local Government and the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) to remain united in appreciation of the transformational leadership of Governor Abiodun Oyebanji.
Addressing staff on Tuesday, the Chairman described the Governor’s administration as humane, objective, and unprecedented in advancing the welfare of Local Government workers across Ekiti State.
According to him, there was a time when leave bonus was treated as a privilege rather than a right. He noted that prior to the emergence of Governor Oyebanji, the Local Government system grappled with months of unpaid deductions, stalled promotion letters without financial backing, and irregular salary payments.
“To the glory of God,” he said, “those challenges have now become history in the annals of the Local Government Service.”
Expansion of Local Government departments from seven to thirteen.
Increase in the number of Permanent Secretaries from one to three, appointed from among qualified senior officers.
Regular and structured promotion exercises with corresponding financial benefits.
Improved access to vehicle and housing loans for staff.
Consistent staff training and capacity development initiatives.
He emphasized that these reforms reflect the Governor’s pragmatic and people-centered leadership style, stressing that such achievements deserve overwhelming support from staff and the general populace of Ekiti State.
The Chairman further noted that significant recruitment exercises have been carried out across Local Governments and LCDAs, including Irepodun/Ifelodun, strengthening service delivery at the grassroots.
Also speaking, the Zonal Executive Inspector for Ekiti Central in the LG Service Commission, Barrister Ayodele Aluko, urged staff to demonstrate unwavering support for Governor Oyebanji’s second-term bid. He expressed confidence that the Governor would surpass his first-term achievements if re-elected.
Barrister Aluko also advised staff to exercise caution in their social media engagements and encouraged continuous academic and professional development to take advantage of emerging opportunities within the Service.
Similarly, Mrs. Akinbobola Deborah-B, HLA of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, called on staff to give total support to the Governor’s re-election, describing him as a father figure whose policies have positively impacted workers across the state.
The management team also commended Honourable Oluwatuyi for aligning local initiatives with the Governor’s development agenda. They praised ongoing projects in Awo and Igede Ekiti, particularly the near-completion of the Post-Natal Delivery Ward at Aaye Street, Igede Ekiti, and the forthcoming grading of township roads.
The gathering concluded with appreciation for the Chairman’s endorsement for a second term in office, citing his pragmatic performance and visible developmental strides.
