Oluwatuyi Urges Staff to Graciously Re-Elect Governor Oyebanji's Sustaining Progress.

Oluwatuyi Urges Staff to Graciously Re-Elect Governor Oyebanji's Sustaining Progress.
By Asubiojo G. O.

The Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga (popularly known as CHENCO), has charged staff of the Local Government and the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) to remain united in appreciation of the transformational leadership of  Governor Abiodun Oyebanji.

Addressing staff on Tuesday, the Chairman described the Governor’s administration as humane, objective, and unprecedented in advancing the welfare of Local Government workers across Ekiti State.

According to him, there was a time when leave bonus was treated as a privilege rather than a right. He noted that prior to the emergence of Governor Oyebanji, the Local Government system grappled with months of unpaid deductions, stalled promotion letters without financial backing, and irregular salary payments.

“To the glory of God,” he said, “those challenges have now become history in the annals of the Local Government Service.”

Expansion of Local Government departments from seven to thirteen.

Increase in the number of Permanent Secretaries from one to three, appointed from among qualified senior officers.

Regular and structured promotion exercises with corresponding financial benefits.

Improved access to vehicle and housing loans for staff.
Consistent staff training and capacity development initiatives.

He emphasized that these reforms reflect the Governor’s pragmatic and people-centered leadership style, stressing that such achievements deserve overwhelming support from staff and the general populace of Ekiti State.

The Chairman further noted that significant recruitment exercises have been carried out across Local Governments and LCDAs, including Irepodun/Ifelodun, strengthening service delivery at the grassroots.

Also speaking, the Zonal Executive Inspector for Ekiti Central in the LG Service Commission, Barrister Ayodele Aluko, urged staff to demonstrate unwavering support for Governor Oyebanji’s second-term bid. He expressed confidence that the Governor would surpass his first-term achievements if re-elected.

Barrister Aluko also advised staff to exercise caution in their social media engagements and encouraged continuous academic and professional development to take advantage of emerging opportunities within the Service.

Similarly, Mrs. Akinbobola Deborah-B, HLA of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, called on staff to give total support to the Governor’s re-election, describing him as a father figure whose policies have positively impacted workers across the state.

The management team also commended Honourable Oluwatuyi for aligning local initiatives with the Governor’s development agenda. They praised ongoing projects in Awo and Igede Ekiti, particularly the near-completion of the Post-Natal Delivery Ward at Aaye Street, Igede Ekiti, and the forthcoming grading of township roads.

The gathering concluded with appreciation for the Chairman’s endorsement for a second term in office, citing his pragmatic performance and visible developmental strides.

Oyebanji Reaffirms Commitment to Ekiti Women’s Empowerment, Says Effective Implementation of NFWP-SU is Non-Negotiable.

Oyebanji Reaffirms Commitment to Ekiti Women’s Empowerment, Says Effective Implementation of NFWP-SU is Non-Negotiable.

The Ekiti State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to women’s economic empowerment through the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU), describing the initiative as a strategic platform for inclusive growth and sustainable development. Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is deeply passionate about implementing this program, viewing it as a significant step toward grassroots transformation. The administration is investing in the NFWP-SU because of its firm belief that when a woman is empowered, she is positioned to uplift her home, leading to the overall development of the community and the state at large.

The Chairman of the State Multi-Sectoral Coordinating Structure and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo, gave this assurance at the opening session of a three-day team-bonding workshop organised to strengthen networking and collaboration among NFWP-SU officials. Adebayo reiterated Governor Oyebanji’s strong support for the project, noting that the administration remains committed to policies that advance women's economic independence. He emphasised that the effective implementation of the scale-up phase requires the right attitude, professionalism, and teamwork, urging all actors to remain focused on achieving a measurable impact on livelihoods.

In her keynote address, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Olapeju Babafemi, described the programme as a transformative intervention designed to empower grassroots and improve household livelihoods through the Women Affinity Groups (WAGs) and other platforms. She charged participants to uphold transparency, accountability, and integrity, ensuring that the resources invested by the state government reach the intended grassroots beneficiaries. This focus on integrity was echoed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Sola Adeluyi, who highlighted the importance of institutional synergy and strict adherence to operational guidelines to ensure the initiative's long-term success and sustainability.

The Ekiti State Project Coordinator, Mrs Toyin Familoni, explained that the ongoing training aims to enhance unity and coordinated service delivery. The event also featured a delegation from Ogun State, led by their Project Coordinator, Mrs Bolanle Fadairo, who shared best practices to promote inter-state learning. By fostering this environment of collaboration and rigorous field coordination, the Ekiti State Government is ensuring that Governor Oyebanji’s vision for a prosperous "Land of Honour" begins at the household level, where empowered women serve as the primary drivers of socio-economic progress.

Oyebanji swears in five high court judges, harps on deepening state’s justice system.

Oyebanji swears in five high court judges, harps on deepening state’s justice system.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji on Monday, sworn in five newly appointed high court judges with a promise to continue to strengthen the state’s judicial administration and deepen the justice system, stressing the importance of a fair and transparent administration of justice through upholding of high level justice standards.

The five new high court judges are: Justices Adegoke Olanike Caroline, Bamise Julius Sunday, Bamidele Ajibare Julius, Akinyede Stephen Rotimi, and Anoma Adefunke Helen.

Governor Oyebanji, at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Conference Hall,  Governor’s office Ado-Ekiti, said their elevation was a call to service having been entrusted with the sacred duty to uphold the Constitution and act without fear, favour, affection or ill-will.

Governor Oyebanji affirmed that only the presence of efficient, effective, accessible, impartial and reliable dispensation of justice can guarantee peace, order, and sustainable development, stressing that his government would ensure that all necessary human and material resources needed by the judiciary are made available at all times.

He used the opportunity to charge the new Judges to remain examples of equity, fairness and integrity at the highest level pointing out that  the standards of behaviour and practice expected of Judges are among the highest and most stringent all over the world as all eyes are on them to effectively dispense Justice speedily with fairness and impartially.

Governor Oyebanji further assured members of the Bench that his government will continue to provide the necessary impetus for the judiciary to thrive in an atmosphere that will allow them dispense justice impartially and to remain a voice for the voiceless and the last hope for the hopeless.

He appealed to friends and associates of the Judges not to become clogs on the wheel of justice through corruptive influence and undue pressures.

“As you are aware, Section 271(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) places a solemn constitutional responsibility on me, as Governor to appoint Judges of the State High Court on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council. This provision reflects both authority and restraint. It is not merely a responsibility, but one that must be exercised with fidelity to the rule of law, and, in the best interest of justice. It was for this reason that we put machinery in motion to fill the available vacancies in the Ekiti Judiciary in line with relevant laws.

“I therefore feel honoured to have the privilege of swearing-in the distinguished legal luminaries, who have scaled through the rigorous constitutional procedures to have been appointed as new judges on the Bench of Ekiti State High Court. With the addition of the five new judges, I am doubly convinced that the Ekiti Judiciary is strengthened, reenergized and repositioned for better, effective and timely dispensation of justice.

“To get to this stage, each of our new judges has demonstrated exceptional competence and integrity. They earned their nominations and appointments to the High Court of Ekiti State on the strength of their competence, sound character, impeccable credentials and invaluable experience in their respective areas of engagement.

“Their appointments are a testament to our confidence in a judiciary that mirrors the values of Ekiti State as a Land of Honour. With these appointments, we are further strengthening the foundations of our legal system. Their dedication to upholding justice will undoubtedly enhance the confidence of Ekiti kete in our judiciary.”, The Governor stated.

Earlier, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Dayo Apata SAN, commended Governor Oyebanji on his various efforts at repositioning the Justice sector for effective service delivery including an amendment of law for an increase in the statutory number of Judges in the state; approval of a new national minimum wage for judicial staff; completion furnishing of two new courts within the High Court premises in Ado Ekiti as well as the commencement of the construction of a new high court complex in Ado Ekiti among others.

The Attorney General expressed the gratitude of the judiciary for the provision of five brand new 2025 model SUV for each of the judges, adding that  the executive, under Governor Oyebanji, has not, in any way, interfered with the affairs of the judiciary but upholding the principle of separation of powers and safeguarding the independence of judiciary.

Justice Adegoke, who responded on behalf of her colleagues, expressed appreciation to Governor Oyebanji for upholding the recommendations of the NJC and giving them the opportunity to serve as judges in the State.
He said they remained grateful for privilege to serve the state in this capacity promising to continue to discharge their duty with unwavering integrity, impartiality and diligence with commitment to administering justice without fear or favour.

Mrs. Titilayo Toba - Ojo — “Mother General”.Mrs. Titilayo Toba - Ojo — “Mother General”.

Mrs. Titilayo Toba - Ojo — “Mother General”.
...A Gentle Giant Bids the Service a Golden Farewell.

In the quiet corridors of the Ekiti State Local Government Service, there walks a woman whose presence has never been ordinary.

Mrs. Titilayo Toba _Ojo, fondly and reverently called "MOTHER GENERAL", stands as a living testimony that leadership is not merely a position—it is a calling wrapped in compassion, competence, and character.

Colleagues describe her as pragmatic yet poetic in reasoning, logical yet tender in heart. She did not wear.

professionalism like a garment to be removed at sunset; she lived it as a creed. In meetings, her voice was calm but decisive. In moments of tension, her wisdom steadied the room. In seasons of uncertainty, she became both compass and anchor.

Where others saw routine, she saw purpose.

Where others saw limitations, she envisioned possibilities.

Her legacy is not archived in dusty files or sealed within office cabinets. It breathes in the lives she touched. It speaks in the confidence of officers she mentored. It shines in the academic pursuits she inspired and the moral standards she upheld.

When others saw impossibility or expectations, she envisioned a empirical reality.

When others overlooked potential, she nurtured greatness.

When many hesitated, she propelled her team toward academic conquest and personal elevation.

For Mother General, mentorship was not administrative duty—it was spiritual stewardship.

In a system often defined by policies and protocols, she introduced humanity.

Political and civil service heavyweights may debate power and structure, but none can dismiss her astonishing brilliance—civil, social, Christian, and domestic.
She is generous without noise.

Humorous without effort.

Intelligent without arrogance.

Humane without boundaries.

Her office became more than a workspace—it became a sanctuary of guidance, encouragement, and growth.

As the month of February ,gently draws the curtain on her civil service journey, gratitude fills the atmosphere. Yet this is not an ending. For Mrs. Titilayo Toba -Ojo, retirement is not a sunset—it is a sunrise.

Because women like her do not merely retire.

They transition into deeper relevance.

They ascend into broader purpose.

Her influence will continue to ripple through the Local Government Service and far beyond, shaping conversations, inspiring reforms, and uplifting families.

We celebrate not only an administrator but a mother, mentor, and moral compass. A woman whose Christian virtues illuminated her public service. A woman whose social brilliance balanced discipline with empathy. A woman whose name will echo long after office keys are handed over.

Let the applause rise gracefully.

Let the tributes gather like morning dew.

Let the celebration of greater heights begin.

For this farewell is only the tip of the iceberg.

Soon, echoes of a grander celebration will resound far beyond the service corridors.

To our formidable and dynamic Mother General of the LGSC—
Your story continues.

Your impact endures.

Your light remains.

Ekiti First Lady Rallies CSOs to Groom Women for Political Participation.

Ekiti First Lady Rallies CSOs to Groom Women for Political Participation.

The Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has called for deliberate and sustained engagement of women in politics, particularly those in tertiary institutions and at the grassroots, to entrench political participation as a culture rather than a seasonal ambition.

She made the call in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, at a strategic engagement with civil society organisations (CSOs) themed "Collaboration for Enhancing Women’s Political Participation", where she outlined practical steps to boost women’s representation across all tiers of governance in the state.

Dr Oyebanji said early political orientation and structured mentoring would help demystify leadership for young women and build their confidence to participate actively in governance.

“To achieve meaningful inclusion, we must begin to groom our girls and young women early, on our campuses, communities and local councils  so that participation in politics becomes a natural progression and not an afterthought". She said.

The First Lady proposed a multi-pronged approach to advancing women’s political inclusion, including increasing women’s representation at all levels of governance, establishing a Women’s Caucus in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, creating structured mentorship platforms for aspiring female leaders, and investing in political capacity-building and leadership skills training.

According to her, women in Ekiti possess the competence, resilience and leadership capacity required to contribute meaningfully to governance but often lack the institutional support and encouragement needed to step forward.

“Our women are ready. They are capable and strong. They simply need support and sometimes, a little encouragement to step forward". She aded.

She commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for what she described as a firm commitment to inclusive governance, citing the increased number of female appointments under his administration.

She, however, urged stakeholders to complement the administration’s efforts with deliberate policies and coordinated action.

Speaking further, Dr Oyebanji explained that the engagement with CSOs was strategic, given their proximity to women at the grassroots in markets, community associations and faith-based centres to position them as key partners in mobilising, mentoring and advocating for greater female participation in politics.

She called on civil society groups to intensify advocacy campaigns, collaborate rather than compete, and train women as election monitors to safeguard electoral integrity and ensure their voices are protected throughout the democratic process.

Earlier in her remarks, Ekiti State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Peju Babafemi, emphasised the need to dismantle structural and cultural barriers limiting women’s access to leadership positions.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro, the Head of Ekiti State Civil Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi and the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Bolaji Olagbaju, also underscored the importance of empowering women through policy reforms, political education and institutional backing.

Participants at the forum engaged in solution-driven discussions, identifying key challenges such as limited funding, cultural stereotypes and inadequate political exposure, while proposing practical strategies to strengthen networks, mentorship and advocacy structures for women.

The engagement also featured a shared commitment among stakeholders to work collectively toward building a more inclusive political landscape in Ekiti State,  one where women are not only participants but decision-makers to shape the future of the state.

Ramadan, Lent: Ajayi Urges Ekiti Residents To Pray For Peace Ahead Of Guber Poll.

Hon. Bayo Ajayi has urged residents of Ekiti State to take advantage of the coinciding Ramadan and Lenten season to seek God’s guidance and blessings for the state and Nigeria at large.

In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, the Emure Ekiti-born politician described the rare overlap of the two sacred periods in Islam and Christianity as a unique opportunity for spiritual renewal, unity, and collective intercession for the peace and progress of the state.

Ajayi emphasised the need for Muslims and Christians to demonstrate love, tolerance, and kindness towards one another, irrespective of political or religious differences. He noted that genuine development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual respect.

With the forthcoming governorship election in the state, he called on citizens to pray fervently for peace and stability, stressing that violence-free polls remain a shared responsibility.

He also assured residents of the state government’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful and secure environment before, during, and after the election.

Ajayi wished Muslim and Christian faithful a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan and Lenten season, praying that God would accept their supplications and grant them their heart’s desires.

EKITI FIRST LADY ENGAGES WITH CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS ON WOMEN'S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION.

EKITI FIRST LADY ENGAGES WITH CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS ON WOMEN'S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION.

In a decisive move to enhance women's political participation,  the First Lady of Ekiti State, H.E (Dr) Olayemi Oyebanji convened a strategic meeting with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), as she proposed strategies aimed at enhancing women's political participation.

Speaking on Wednesday at a high-level engagement with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at the Adunni Olayinka Women Centre, Dr Oyebanji asserted that while the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has broken records with an impressive number of female appointments, the work must now transition to measurable grassroots impact. "History will not remember how many meetings we held; it will remember what we changed," the First Lady declared. "Our women are ready. They need more support and,  encouragement for enhanced participation in politics."

To bridge the gap between participation and decision-making, Dr Oyebanji proposed a structured roadmap designed to produce tangible outcomes. These strategies include a massive drive to register new women voters across the state and the creation of a Mentorship Hub for young women to nurture the upcoming generation of female political leaders.

Additionally, the strategic action includes the establishment of a formal Women’s Caucus in the State House of Assembly, the training of women as election monitors to safeguard democratic integrity, and vigorous advocacy for legislative reforms that institutionalise female representation at all levels of governance.

The event featured a powerful show of solidarity from Ekiti’s top female executives and political stakeholders, and representatives of CSOs demonstrating a unified front for the cause.

The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Olapeju Babafemi, delivered a stirring address highlighting the "level playing field deficit" caused by political violence, limited financing, and entrenched stereotypes. She praised the First Lady’s vision as a vibrant social worker and advocate who understands that policy must meet community welfare to be effective. Similarly, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, alongside the Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, commended Dr Oyebanji for her strategic collaboration with CSOs, identifying them as the most effective "bridge" for carrying the message of inclusive governance to the grassroots.

Adding significant weight to the gathering were notable leaders and dignitaries, including Chief Mrs Ronke Okusanya; the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bolaji Olagbaju Egbeyemi; and the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Princess Adetoun Agboola. Also in attendance were the Director General of the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa; the Director General of Community Communication, Mrs Mary Oso Omotosho; and the Spouses of House of Assembly Members led by the wife of the Speaker, Mrs Nike Aribasoye. The engagement further saw the participation of the wives of Chairmen, Female Local Government Chairpersons, and various key political stakeholders.

Responding to the call for action, representatives of various CSOs and NGOs expressed their enthusiastic support for the roadmap. In their feedback, the advocates commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for setting a high bar in women's involvement through significant political appointments, officially declaring the current administration a "women-friendly and CSO-friendly Government." They pledged their full cooperation with the Office of the First Lady to ensure the message of political participation reaches every corner of the state.

Furthering the call for action, Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa delivered a lecture titled "Collaborating for Enhancing Women’s Political Participation." She noted that while Ekiti currently ranks high nationally with a 0.752 score on the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Index, the transition to elective offices remains the final frontier. The First Lady concluded the engagement by urging all stakeholders to choose "collaboration over competition," committing her office to champion enhanced female participation in politics and public administration.

Oyebanji hails President Tinubu on roads infrastructure in Ekiti.

Oyebanji hails President Tinubu on roads infrastructure in Ekiti.
… As Afenifere reaffirms endorsement of President, Oyebanji for re-election.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the construction and rehabilitation of some inter and intra-state federal road to boost the economy and general well-being of residents of the state.

Governor Oyebanji who stated this on Tuesday, when he received leaders of the Ekiti State chapter of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere led by its chairman, Elder Yemi Alade, in his to office, said Ekiti State in the last three and a half years has received more than what the President promised the State.

The Governor said the road projects, when completed, have the potentials to drive economic growth and development of the State and the Southwest region, as some of the road projects are linked to other states like Ondo and Osun.

The Governor spoke just as the Afenifere leaders re-affirmed their endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji for re-election, citing the purposeful leadership provided by the President and the Governor for their support.

Oyebanji who hailed the group for their support for President Tinubu, said he remained tankful to the President for fulfilling all his promises to the state, leading to an unprecedented infrastructure development in Ekiti.

“I also want to appreciate the President for his support for Ekiti, and I want to thank you for endorsing his re-election. Mr. President has fulfilled more than he promised us.

“As I speak now, Akure to Ado-Ekiti is now 35 minutes. He did it, and with his support, we completed the airport. With his support, we have rehabilitated the Ado-Iworoko–Ifaki federal road. He has also approved the construction of the road from Osun State border to Aramoko, the value of that contract is N153 billion because it's going to be concrete pavement.

“Mr President has also directed and approved reconstruction of Aramoko-Ijero-Ido road, as well as Omuo – Ikole –Ifaki road, very soon, I know that work is ongoing in ensuring that we are linked to Osogbo rail line so, when you cumulate all these things, he has done well for us. But, unfortunately, we still have some of our children, maybe because of ignorance or what they will eat, their actions still portray Ekiti as ungrateful people. We need to caution such people. I am not against politics but they shouldn’t play politics with facts.”

Speaking further, Governor Oyebanji described Afenifere as the custodian of Yoruba traditional values and culture, and thanked the Yoruba socio-cultural group for endorsing him and President Tinubu for second term. He promised to continue to deliver the best policies and programmes to further improvement the socio-economic lives of the people.

The Governor said: “On behalf of myself and Mr President, I thank you for the open endorsement, Because Afenifere is the custodian of our values, political values and our culture. So, for you to come out openly to say this is where they are, I do not take it for granted and I'm extremely grateful on behalf of myself and the President. The endorsement was based on facts you know, I'm aware that you went through all the projects and that is what separates Afenifere from other groups, you are meticulous, you are not partial and you say things the way it is.”

The Governor said further that he had been able to deliver on campaign promises to Ekiti people, adding that he would continue to champion the principle of party supremacy, which entails carrying the party along in some key decisions, especially on political appointments.

Earlier, the Chairman of the group, Elder Yemi Alad,  affirmed the endorsement of Governor Oyebanji saying the decision was premised on his unprecedented and monumental achievements aimed at repositioning the state for socio-economic development of the people through the shared prosperity agenda of his administration.

Elder Alade highlighted the achievements to include the administration’s plausible economic policy, impactful infrastructural development, vibrant agricultural policy, regular payment of workers’ salaries and pension as well as enhancement of youth and women empowerment.

“Based on the above and convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that greater achievements will be recorded to renew your mandate during your second tenure, Egbe Afenifere resolved to organized the endorsement programme as pace-setting.

“Ekiti State chapter of Egbe Afenifere assures your excellency of our continued unflinching support, unfailing cooperation and unwavering loyalty during and after the forth-coming election. We remain with you to work devotedly for your election victory. We also prayerfully wish His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a resounding election victory in 2027 for second term tenure to move Nigeria forward.”

”we hereby reiterate our wish to dissociate ourselves from the fake, irresponsible group parading themselves as Afenifere Ekiti. It is not only a condemned group of impostors but a reflection of strange bed-fellows of doubtful characters. Ours is a genuine, purposeful and progressive group. We remain very solidly with your Excellency. Elder Alade asserted.

Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga Measurable Developmental Strides in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government.

Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga Measurable Developmental Strides in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government.
By Asubiojo G.O

The administration of Hon. Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga, Executive Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, has recorded measurable strides across key sectors, with interventions reflecting a deliberate focus on grassroots development and service delivery.

Since assuming office, the chairman has prioritised infrastructure renewal, agricultural revitalisation, healthcare improvement, educational support and social welfare initiatives, all aimed at delivering tangible benefits to residents.

In the area of infrastructure and environmental management, solar-powered boreholes have been installed in several communities, expanding access to potable water and improving public health standards. The council has also embarked on the clearance of slums, erosion-prone areas and blocked road passages to enhance environmental sanitation, ease internal road movement and strengthen community safety.

A notable institutional upgrade under the administration is the reconstruction and modernisation of the Local Government Traditional Council Royal Assemblage. The facility, now ICT-compliant, tiled and properly furnished, is designed to improve administrative efficiency while preserving the dignity of traditional authority structures within the council area.

Agricultural development has also received significant attention, in alignment with the food security drive of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. The council raised and distributed improved cocoa and oil palm seedlings to farmers to enhance long-term productivity and boost export-oriented output. The promotion of yam and cassava cultivation has further strengthened staple food production within the local government.

In addition, the establishment of piggery pens has created alternative income streams for residents, improved access to animal protein and encouraged local agribusiness development. These interventions, stakeholders say, are contributing to rural wealth creation and improved livelihoods.

Healthcare delivery has equally witnessed improvement. The construction of an Antenatal and Delivery Centre at Aaye Street, Igede Ekiti, has expanded maternal and child healthcare services, improving access to safe delivery and prenatal care. The provision of essential equipment, including deep freezers for storing temperature-sensitive drugs and vaccines, has strengthened immunisation efforts and enhanced the functionality of primary healthcare centres in the area.

Educational and social welfare programmes have complemented these physical projects. Primary and secondary school pupils have benefited from the distribution of school bags and financial support to ease academic burdens and promote school retention.

The wife of the chairman, Mrs. Oluwatuyi Hellen, has also led humanitarian initiatives targeted at vulnerable groups. Less privileged children have received assistance with school fees and educational materials, while widows across the local government have been supported with food items, financial tokens and advisory engagements aimed at fostering economic resilience and social inclusion.

Community leaders, civil servants and beneficiaries have commended the administration’s efforts, describing the projects as impactful and people-oriented.

Through structured planning and coordinated implementation, the Oluwatuyi-led administration has continued to set developmental benchmarks within Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, reinforcing the principle that effective grassroots governance is measured by visible and verifiable results.

Oyebanji’s Agricultural Revolution: Ekiti Eyes Forex Boom Through Palm Oil, Agro-Exports.

Oyebanji’s Agricultural Revolution: Ekiti Eyes Forex Boom Through Palm Oil, Agro-Exports.
By Olamide Akinwumi

Ekiti State is steadily positioning itself as a frontline player in Nigeria’s agricultural renaissance under the purposeful leadership of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, with deliberate investments targeted at boosting production, enhancing value chains and unlocking export opportunities.

In a strong validation of the state’s strategic direction, the Agricultural Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (AMEAL) team recently visited Ekiti to understudy how the government is redefining the future of agriculture through evidence based policies and prudent public spending.

A major highlight of the visit was the inspection of the 200 acre Alayna Joel Memorial Farm in Ipoti Ekiti, established by former President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Dr Segun Ajibola. The integrated farm stands as a model of modern agribusiness, combining oil palm, cassava, banana and yam cultivation with a fully operational palm oil processing mill.

The initiative aligns with Governor Oyebanji’s vision to deepen partnerships with private investors to scale agricultural productivity. With oil palm as a focal point, Ekiti is charting a bold course toward reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imports and positioning the state as a major contributor to foreign exchange earnings.

For decades, Nigeria has lagged behind global competitors in palm oil production, relying heavily on imports from countries such as Malaysia. Ekiti’s renewed drive in the oil palm sector signals a strategic shift that seeks to restore Nigeria’s pride of place in global palm oil markets while cutting import expenditure.

In a major institutional call, key federal financing bodies such as the National Agricultural Development Fund and the Bank of Agriculture must strongly provide financial and technical support, the beauty of their backing will further enhance Ekiti’s agricultural transformation agenda.

Beyond the Alayna Joel Memorial Farm, Ekiti is also home to Agbeyewa Farms, further reinforcing the state’s emergence as an agricultural investment hub. With the operationalisation of the Ekiti Cargo Airport, the stage is set for seamless agro export, opening new windows for revenue generation and global market access.

The Oyebanji administration’s approach reflects accountability, sustainability and long term economic thinking, hallmarks of responsible governance.

As Ekiti harvests the gains of deliberate agricultural reforms, one message rings clear, continuity will consolidate these gains, expand export frontiers and secure prosperity for generations to come.

BAO till 2030. Sustaining the Agricultural Revolution. Securing Ekiti’s Prosperity.

Unity in Action: Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji’s Strategic Role in Solidifying the Oyebanji Administration’s Legacy.

Unity in Action: Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji’s Strategic Role in Solidifying the Oyebanji Administration’s Legacy.

In Ekiti State, a dynamic and purposeful partnership is doing more than just driving progress; it is laying a sophisticated foundation for sustainable governance. Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his visionary spouse, First Lady Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, have emerged as a formidable team. Their synchronized efforts are yielding transformative results that resonate across every local government area, painting a compelling picture of an administration that has earned the right to continuity.

Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji has distinguished herself as a pivotal strategist, successfully mobilizing Ekiti women—a critical electoral demographic—behind the Governor’s vision. Through meticulously curated initiatives, she has unified women across all social strata, creating a grassroots movement that champions the Governor’s second-term bid. Her outreach is a masterclass in inclusive leadership, ensuring that the voices of the people are not just heard, but woven into the fabric of policy.

A Foundation of Faith and Ethical Governance:
At the heart of the Oyebanji partnership lies a deep-seated commitment to spiritual and ethical integrity. The First Lady has ensured that state activities are underpinned by a sense of divine purpose, integrating moral considerations into the daily business of governance.
The now-celebrated monthly praise and worship sessions have become a cornerstone of the state’s cultural calendar. These gatherings serve as a powerful testament to an administration grounded in hope and transparency. This spiritual alignment fosters a sense of moral accountability that mirrors Governor Oyebanji’s promise of "leadership with a conscience," earning the profound trust of the Ekiti populace.

Empowering the Vulnerable, Elevating the Economy:
Through her acclaimed Widows and Orphans Hope (WAOH) Project, the First Lady has moved beyond traditional charity toward holistic empowerment. By providing over 400 vulnerable individuals with modern working equipment and financial grants, she is directly advancing the Governor’s poverty alleviation agenda.

Furthermore, her strategic initiative to train hundreds of citizens in Adire fabric production is a brilliant dual-purpose masterstroke:
●Economic Self-Reliance: It creates sustainable livelihoods and fosters local entrepreneurship.

●Cultural Preservation: It positions Ekiti as a hub for indigenous textile arts, showcasing the administration's commitment to industrial growth.

Her advocacy has also led to a historic milestone: Ekiti State now boasts the highest number of elected and appointed female officials in Nigeria. This achievement is no accident; it is the result of an enabling environment fostered by the Governor, proving that under this administration, gender equity is a reality, not just a campaign slogan.

A United Front for Continued Progress:
The seamless synergy between the Governor and the First Lady is a rare example of administrative stability. As Ekiti State approaches the next election cycle, Dr. Oyebanji’s influence remains a key driver in maintaining the enthusiastic support of the electorate. With women constituting a substantial portion of the voting bloc, this united front is more than a political advantage—it is a promise of stability and accelerated development.

A Legacy of Visionary Leadership:
The story of the Oyebanjis is one of dedication and undeniable impact. It demonstrates that when faith, unity, and a commitment to selfless service converge, transformative leadership is the result. As Ekiti State looks toward the future, this duo—fortified by a proven track record—stands ready to steer the "Land of Honour" toward even greater heights of prosperity.

Indeed, the best is yet to come.

Most recently, he has led Agbeyewa Farms, the largest cassava farm in Africa, where he is implementing a 12-point transformation agenda aimed at modernising cassava farming and addressing food insecurity in Nigeria.

Prince Ayorinde Ejioye Rallies Ekiti Youth; Reaffirms Unalloyed Loyalty to BAO and Tinubu.

Prince Ayorinde Ejioye Rallies Ekiti Youth; Reaffirms Unalloyed Loyalty to BAO and Tinubu.

In a vibrant display of solidarity and renewed purpose, Prince Ayorinde Ejioye hosted a cross-section of Ekiti youth today, effectively consolidating his base following the recent leadership friction within the City Boy Movement. The atmosphere was charged with high spirits as the Prince addressed the controversy surrounding his 2025 appointment, choosing to focus on the future of the party and the state rather than dwelling on the ongoing leadership crisis.

Recall that Prince Ejioye was officially appointed to lead the City Boy Movement in August 2025. However, a period of administrative ambiguity followed, during which a parallel appointment was made without the formal withdrawal of Ejioye’s initial mandate. Rather than allowing the situation to breed division, Ejioye has utilized this period to strengthen his grassroots support and reinforce his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing the energetic crowd, Ejioye expressed deep gratitude to the youth who championed his cause during what he described as a "trial period." He noted with emotion that despite not having met many of them personally until recently, the organic and overwhelming support he received was a testament to their shared vision for Ekiti.
"The support wasn’t just about a position; it was about the collective voice of Ekiti youth," Ejioye remarked. "That genuine love is what fuels my resolve. I am not discouraged; if anything, I am more determined than ever to ensure the continuity of the progress we are seeing in Ekiti state and our nation."

Ejioye was categorical about his political trajectory, stating that his primary objective remains the re-election of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) in the 2026 gubernatorial polls and ensuring a landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. He lauded Governor Oyebanji’s unprecedented youth-centric administration, highlighting that currently, more than 35% of the Governor’s appointees are young people. Ejioye projected that a second term for Gov. BAO could see youth representation rise to 70%, effectively transitioning the "leaders of tomorrow" into the "drivers of today." He emphasized that under the "Biodun Abayomi Vision," Ekiti youth are no longer spectators but active participants in governance.

While his commitment to the Governor and the President remains non-negotiable, Ejioye revealed that he is currently in deep consultations with APC elders and stakeholders across the state. These deliberations concern his next move regarding the unsettled leadership of the City Boy Movement. He extended special appreciation to the APC leadership for their timely interventions, as well as to Seyi Tinubu and the Honorable Olawande Ayo Wisdom, Minister of Youth Development for their genuine passion for youth empowerment and promising to domesticate their national vision right here in Ekiti.

Ejioye concluded by teasing a robust roadmap of activities designed to mobilize the grassroots for the upcoming election cycles. He assured the youth that these strategies are already finalized and will be unveiled in the coming weeks. "We are not backing out," Ejioye declared. "We are only getting started. The manifesto for the youth movement in Ekiti is ready, and when we hit the ground, it will be clear that our tomorrow has started manifesting today." Representing the youth at the gathering, various spokespersons assured Prince Ejioye of their unwavering loyalty, pledging to stand by him "come rain, come shine" as he navigates the next phase of his political journey.
