The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele, has extended his condolences to the Chancellor of the institution, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, over the passing of his wife, Mrs. Gbemisola Olutayo Olowolafe.
Ayodele, in a statement on behalf of the university’s Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff, and Students, described the loss as a great tragedy, noting that Mrs. Olowolafe passed away at a time when her contributions were still much needed by her family and the EKSU community.
He lamented that her death had created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill for a long time, while praying for the peaceful repose of her soul. The vice chancellor also urged Dr. Olowolafe to take solace in the belief that her passing was in accordance with God’s will.
Describing the deceased as a strong pillar of the Olowolafe dynasty, Ayodele prayed that the Almighty would grant strength and comfort to her husband, children, and grandchildren in this difficult time.
In the statement signed by Bode Olofinmuagun, Deputy Registrar of the Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, the university community expressed their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
