Ekiti Commission Chairman Felicitates Staff On New Year Celebration

Ekiti Commission Chairman Felicitates Staff On New Year Celebration.
 ...... Solicits Honesty, Hardwork.

The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission Chairman, Mr. Samuel Alaba Abejide, has rejoiced with the entire local governments’ workers in Ekiti State for witnessing the New Year 2024. He described the year as a year of turn-around and recovery for them and the country at large. He urged the staff to exhibit honesty and hard work to deliver quality service to the state.

The Chairman, who stated this in his New Year message to the staff, commended them for being highly productive and resourceful, noting that despite the various challenges that characterized the year 2023, especially the fuel subsidy removal, the workers remained undeterred in service delivery.

Abejide lauded the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr.  Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for placing the welfare of public servants on the front burner, most especially that of the local government workers, as demonstrated through the steady offset of salary arrears owed workers and pensioners, payment of pensions and gratuity, purchase of vehicles for the use of the Executive Secretaries and Heads of Local Government Administration, assent of Mr. Governor to two critical local government administration bills following their passage by the House of Assembly and adequate funding of the local governments and local council development areas.

He added: “Today in Ekiti State, it is obvious that the outgoing chairmen of local governments and local council development areas are executing and commissioning various projects ranging from construction of classrooms, secretariat complexes, health centres, market stalls, drains and culverts, extension of electricity, tarring and grading of roads among many others.”

The chairman also expressed gratitude to the governor for making funds available for the completion of the Local Government Service Commission secretariat, which has reached appreciable stage of completion and would be ready for commissioning in the first quarter of year 2024.

Abejide assured the workers that his leadership of the commission will continually motivate the workforce for optimal productivity, stressing that their career growth would be prioritized and their expectations would be met as always in the year 2024.

He charged workers to be more diligent and committed to their duties, urging them to embrace honest and hard work in the year by supporting the shared prosperity mantra of the BAO administration as captured in the 6-Point Agenda.

The chairman, who wishes the staff and the good people of Ekiti State a robust, fulfilling and prosperous New Year, urged them not to despair but to continue to pray for the leaders and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to enable him succeed in the Renewed Hope Agenda for the country.
