The Members of Yoruba Socio-Cultural Organisation called AFENIFERE, ILOSIWAJU Yoruba, Osun state chapter held a meeting at the Ile-ife residence of their leader Sooko Adeleke Adewoyin, former Deputy Governor of Osun state, to seek the support for the APC Presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the February 2023 Presidential election.
In a statement released to the press through the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the organization Hon. Adebayo Temitope Fasanmi.
The AFENIFERE said that Asiwaju Tinubu remains the hope which Nigerians are hopefully looking forward to at this critical time of our Nation's Democracy ,going by his antecedents and impeccable track records, which includes but not limited to the followings:
1. He believes in the sanctity of a United Nigeria.
2. He was an active participant in the enthronement and consolidation of democratic Government in Nigeria.
3. As a consistent progressive leader he has championed the course of bringing the Yorubas to the main stream of Nigerian political space through numerous efforts and collaboration
4. He had supported Presidential candidates of the progressive parties of Northern extraction, in all previous elections.
5. He is a pacesetter in the developmental achievements and transformation of Lagos from being a mere state capital to a world class mega city of note.
6. He is an asstitute accountant who has engaged experts to raise the financial status of Lagos state from a regular dependant on the federal allocation to a sustainable state with huge internally generated revenue , which he has put to use for the benefit of the state and its people through the provision of high quality infrastructures, security, education , health,land and physical development and social welfare projects amongst others.
7. He has opened up Lagos to investors with the investment masterplan put in place during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State since 1999, which is still working to date.
8. He is a leader who has built leaders and has continually invested in human capacity building.
9. He is a forward looking gentleman of God’s great gifted resources.
10. He is a respected and internationally recognized leader who will make the much expected difference that will take Nigeria to the promised land.
Going by the Yoruba adage that says “omo eni kose idi bebere Kafi ileke si idi omo elomiran” (we cannot say that because one’s daughter does not have a robust buttocks and therefore abandon her to decorate another person’s daughter buttocks with the precious bead”.
AFENIFERE therefore, admonish all Yoruba sons and daughters to support and vote for their own, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , the APC Presidential candidate , come February 2023.
