BIGIF, Stop-Violence Against Women In Politics Campaigners Counsels Women To Go Out To Vote.

The Balm In Gilead Foundation For Sustainable Development, the promoters of the Stop-Violence Against Women In Politics campaign has counselled and advised women in Ekiti State to trooped out enmasse to cast their votes in the Governorship election scheduled for tomorrow Saturday.

The Executive Director for Balm In Gilead Foundation For Sustainable Development, BIGIF, Mrs. Tunmininu Adedeji dropped the message at the Live Town Hall Meeting held in Ado Ekiti on Friday. 
Tunmininu Adedeji while speaking with Journalists at the event advised women in Ekiti State to mobilized themselves enmass on Saturday to cast their votes for the person's of their choice.

The BIGIF Executive Director posited that the organization is a non - governmental organization and a non partisan one.

She went on to encouraged women, both old and young and all the population of the women in the State to come out and cast their votes for the person's of their choice at tomorrow's election. 

She stated that, if the population of the women in Ekiti State refused to come to vote in the election, they will continue to be irrelevant in the scheme of things in the State. 

She revealed further, that, during the period of election, we don't count prayers, we only count votes. 

She urged them not to consider to sit or sleep at home on the election day. "Women should not just sit down or be sleeping at home. They should also add their voices to leadership and governance by coming out tomorrow to vote for the person's of their choice. And in case of any violence in their polling units, we have a toll free line that they can call to report", she retorted.

According to the Executive Director, she said, "the Stop Violence Campaign has a Situation Room in partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC situated at their Headquarters along Ikere Ekiti road. Every Service Provider are ready to receive distress calls and to attend to it swiftly". 

"We have all apparatus ready for that work tomorrow. Anybody can call into our toll free line on 08003003333".

She charged the women of Ekiti State not to fear coming out to cast their votes because of violence on the election day. 
"We know that the fear of violence, always put women away during elections".

She went further to tell the women of Ekiti State not allow any voters apathy but to make use of their enormous strength and population to improve the election participation. 

"We are encouraging and wants them to know that, security apparatus are on ground. We have Survival Support Centre. We have the Toll Free Line where they can report cases of violence against them. We are assuring our women that by the Grace of God, there will not be violence against them during the election. Women can come out and add their voice to this election tomorrow by going out to cast their votes. Women also should conduct themselves in a peaceful manner".
