2023 Presidential Election: An Appeal to Jokers and Gamblers As APC Prepares for the Big Issue
The time draws nigh when the ruling APC makes a choice of who becomes the party' s Presidential flagbearer. It promises to be a moment when all progressives will keep sleepless nights to hear the good news as a breaking news indeed. The moments when delegates will match into the arena to choose just one of the aspirants who is considered the best for the country for another 8 years. However, it is going to be a moment of mixed feelings. A winner(just one) and others(losers) who are expected to take whatever becomes the result and forge ahead in the spirit of sportsmanship.

In all of these, it is important to sermonize to the conscience and minds of all aspirants from the southwest block  who probably are not aware that the forthcoming APC primaries is a BIG ISSUE not just to the party but to Nigerians who can't wait to see a change of batton at the Eagle square come May 29, 2023. At this junction, there is a common interest and an agenda that must be jealousy guided by all concerned stakeholders. I once reiterated in an article that all Southwest Presidential aspirants on the platform of the APC must agree to consensus. It is now out of place to talk consensus but to rather solicit for a ' step down'  from petty aspirants who are only out to jeopardize an agenda.  No doubt there are jokers and gamblers who don't realize that we are now facing a big issue that must be overcomed. An agent of conspiracy that propheses himself as PDP during the day but APC at night is trying to infiltrate a house he knows no background information about its foundation. That personality alone poses a great threat to the common interest of the entire southerners as he is seen to be foolishly playing a dirty game whose consequences will be a bitter story for him to tell. However, let us believe it is a rumour. Jokers, gamblers and even political toddlers who are still pushing before the day should be prepared to  voluntarily handover their resources,  delegates, political arsenals and machineries to the most promising aspirant,  who posses the qualities, stamina, physique, intellectual acumen, exposure, very good knowledge of economy, who can tackle insecurity using latest technology and above all has the popularity to weather the storm whose side by side with the PDP  presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku come February, 2023.
The interest of the southwest at this stage must be a priority and must be considered non- negotiable. To achieve this, Southwest elders and men who can appeal to these individuals should rise up to the situation now before it is too late. Our royal fathers should not be silent in all of this to save the Southwest from any show of shame caused by a divided house of aspirants at the APC primaries.

As a concerned progressive, I  want to put on record a clarion call on the likes of Vice President  Yemi Osibajo,  Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, Prof. Robert Ajayi  Borrofice and  Senator Ibikunle Amosun to reconsider their chances and step down for a National Leader and the Party's  National Leader who has the weapon to coast home a total victory for us. We want absolute win and not a gamble for a win at the expense of the happiness of a  million Nigerians who wants to get relieved so soon. Honestly, what shall be the lot and gain of a people who invested their intellectual prowress, finances, political strategies in forming a party that won a ruling party in 2015. If the region speaks in one voice the better chances we stand on the platform of the APC. Continuity will be achieved, re-engineering of the entire political, social and  economic system will be a task that must be done. If we allow the primary be a free for all, then we loose out and discard a golden opportunity that may not be easy to come by.

Let the game changers bring in their tool and agent of conspiracy to the venue, it won't work if we parade a united house because the southwest is known to.have  played a vital role in the emergence of a strong opposition party who took over the centre stage in 2015.

On this note, dear highly respected southwest APC aspirants do the needful to bring home the victory to compensate for the efforts of  our heroes past who have toiled to keep this country together for the benefit of all.

2023 Elections: CSO's Calls On Inec to Extend Online Continuous Voter Registration(CVR)
......Says Voters Interest Must be Prioritized
The recent surge of the citizens of the country to participate in the electoral process of the country may have received a boost as Civil Society Organizations (CSO's)across the Federation has launched a passionate appeal to the Independent National Electoral commission (Inec) to extend the  voters registration exercise  even as the Portal for Online registration and pre registration closes on  tMay 30th 2022 and June 30th respectively.

In a statement made available and signed by heads of various Civil Society Organisations dated may 30th 2022,  the body  believes that having granted an extension to Political parties in the appeal of Primary Elections, such should be allowed to people who wants to register for their voters card as well.
It argued, that the  people have come to realize the importance of participating in the electoral process of selecting who leads the country and priority should be given to those who are registering for the very first time, those who want to transfer their permanent voters card and those who want to replace lost or damaged ones.

The paper read inter alia: It is worthy to note that voters are critical stakeholders in the electoral process and should be treated as such, more so, we are certain that extending  the deadline for voters registration would be entirely in consonance with constitutional and International standards and the electoral act of 2022 as well.
The league of the CSO's include; Executive Director of Speak Out Africa Initiative Kennet Eze, Habeeb Tajudeen Team lead Yvote Naija,Daisi Omokungbe Executive Director Promad foundation, Emeka Lekuwa and Team Lead, Civily. Others are Ebenizar Wikina, Founder Policy shapers,Ephraim Ekenwa Executive Director, Lead Africa and Omowumi Ogunrotimi, Executive Director, Gender Mobile Initiative.

It called on Inec to make use of the fact that it is independent and should therefore be impartial by treating citizens equally and fairly  as perception of the public matters in deepening of the country's democracy.

"The journey of the last three years has been quite challenging, eventful and equally rewarding".

Speaking on the extension of Political Parties Primary Elections by one week, Bamidele said it is not a decision taken by the ruling party but the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a result of pressure mounted on them by IPAC to extend the deadline for the conduct of the political parties primary elections by one months .

According to him, "the decision to extend the deadline was not taken by the All Progressives Congress (APC), but by the Independent National  Electoral Commission (INEC), as a result of the pressure mounted on them by Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) to extend the deadline for the conduct of the elections and it will make the political parties to be more organized"

"Leadership comes as nature's gift basked in divinity".

According to the Constitution, citizens exercise their sovereignty through their elected representatives at the national and state level. At the State level, the people vote to elect the Governor as head of the executive.

Good leaders are like baseball umpires; they go practically unnoticed
when doing their jobs right, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, BAO is such leader to be given an opportunity to serve.

Our concerns currently must be on bringing to office a fit and productive Governor to champion a sound plan's and strategic for the absolute greater development of our dear State.

In order not to experience another set back and take this state to more greater height, Ekiti should on June 18 arise for Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the continuity of JKF good legacy. With Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, BAO Ekiti State will witness more greater developments.

Ekiti 2022 Guber Election

I can Vouch for Oyebanji's Pedigree and Competence- Sen Opeyemi Bamidele
The Senator Representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele has said loyalty to All Progressives Congress (APC) and his confidence in the ability and capacity of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) to provide responsible governance were the reasons he didn't challenge Oyebanji's victory in the January 27 primary election.

Speaking in Ado Ekiti on Friday as a Guest of Honour at an event organised by BAO's Anchor Organization to drum support for the APC guber candidate.

In his address at the event,  MOB said even though he contested in the primary, he had to embrace reconciliation as a loyal party member and work in the interest of the party the moment the winner had emerged.

Going down memory lane, Senator Bamidele reminded the crowd of favours the party had done him in the past, especially his emergence as Senatorial candidate in 2019 and the consensus agreement that has favoured him again to fly the party’s flag for the Ekiti Central Senatorial seat in 2023.

"I'm excited today because our party is waxing stronger  everyday. I'm here not only as Senatorial candidate but as a loyal party man who also believe in the competence and capacity of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to provide good governance in Ekiti State.

"Of course after the primary in January, many people thought we would challenge it in court but I knew that was not the way to go. I told my supporters that it's a family affair that must be treated within the family. I thank my brother, Governor John Kayode Fayemi, I thank the first lady and other leaders for the roles they played in making sure the family ties remain intact,"

Speaking on the preparation of the party to win the June 18 election, Bamidele commended the various groups for their selfless sacrifice which made  the event possible.
He said, "Today is memorable in the history of our great party and the state because what is happening is a demonstration of the fact that politics has indeed gone back to the people. I'm particularly excited because people have realized the need for participatory politics. I want to implore our people to move out and  preach the gospel according to BAO for us to be victorious on June 18.

Ekiti State First Lady, Erelu Bisi  Fayemi who spoke on the need for continuity at the event saluted all the support groups as well as the  Women Campaign Council for their efforts towards BAO's victory in the coming governorship election.

She pointed out that continuity would lead to the retention of various laudable achievements of the outgoing administration.

"You will all agree with me that Ekiti is not developing at the pace other developed states are developing. The reason is simple; there is no consistency in administrations as we see in Lagos and many other other states,"

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of BAO Anchor Organization, Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo said the Anchor groups were committed to ensuring that  total victory was record for the APC governorship candidate come June 18.

Also speaking at the event, a former APC State Chairman, Chief Jide Awe also admitted that there hasn't been anytime members of the public showed commitment to who governs them in Ekiti as being witnessed now.

Awe called on APC leaders and members not to relent in their efforts at recording a landslide victory in the coming election.

The APC governorship candidate, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in his response thanked members of the BAO Anchor Organization for their support and promised to fulfil all his promises to Ekiti people if emerged as governor come June 18.

"I stand before you today that I will not disappoint you. That I will fulfil all my promises," he stated.

The governorship candidate, who restated his committment to issue- based campaign, called on party members to refrain from any act of violence  during the electioneering period. He said the record of performance of the APC- led administration in the state and the massive support of the people were enough to earn the party victory at the June 18 election.

Stigmatization of Ex Convicts: A Humanitarian comes to the Rescue.

The story of corp member with a mission beyond serving.
When Anuoluwapo Balogun found herself as a corp member serving in Ekiti after getting redeployed from a Northern state, little did she know what fate had in store for her in the Land of Honour.

Anu came as a stranded Corper in Ado Ekiti when she could not get a "PPA" thanks to a redeployment go wrong and was hitherto thrown as a last resort to the Nigeria Union of Journalist Secretariat  in Ado Ekiti. One must give credit to Kayode  Babatuyi the Secretary of the NUJ for not rejecting this golden fish even though the Union was at that time incapacitated to take another corp member having have several others.
Just like Chinua Achebe said of Okonkwo in his book ' Things fall Apart'  'When a man says yes his chi also says yes', this is  the case of Anu who immediately familiarize herself with her environment and became friends with almost everyone at the NUJ secretariat. She is by far the most popular Corp member in that building  and this earned her the title " Chief corp member"
When She first  intimated me about the project, I was scared for her not because she will fail but I doubt if  she can pull through given her fragile body and small stature and indeed looks can be deceiving. I gave her all the encouragement whilst I pray inwardly for her to succeed because apart from being an emotional person she is treading one of the most dangerous and delicate path of human life dealing with Inmates of the correctional centre".
Anu nevertheless, started her journey visiting people, offices and personalities that could be of help in actualising her project. Going to the offices is another thing getting the right people and securing the cooperation of the personalities is another. There are many times Anu will come back to the office frustrated and in tears and trust me it was that time the devil in me will spring up to give her the disturbances of her life but I know if she looked back now she will definitely smile because she needed the assurance that all will be well.
Despite the obvious frustrations, this young lady never gave up and I was more than eager to accompany her to the correctional centre for her first session with the Inmates who were about completing their terms.
The story behind the walls of that community is "ethically" kept as a top secret else I get sued. But the intrigues will always be there, Anu has started a legacy in Ekiti and her project won't be for Ekiti alone in fact I call on the State and federal government to make Anuoluwapo Balogun's project a model and a prototype for the reintegration of ex inmates into the society in order to stop stigmatization and prevent  rescividism.
If the Federal government can rehabilitate ex Boko Haram members with full benefits then nothing should stop Ex convicts getting a shot in becoming better asset to themselves and the society.

Anu came with the idea of training Ex convicts, setting them up with basic skills and properly reintroducing them into the society whilst protecting their rights and enhancing their self esteem.
The session was a huge success and many Inmates who are not leaving anytime soon happily joined the training.

The highlights was that of a young man who wanted to be a writer got blessed with materials and a big Dictionary.
The sensitization programme itself was a huge success in every way. The NUP hall was filled to the brims on 18th May  2022 with the attendance of Dignitaries that graced the event. The programme in conjunction with the National Orientation agency(NOA) has the Director of NOA, the Comptroller General of the Prison Services, The NUJ chairman, The Vice President NUJ southwest B Zone and the NYSC state coordinator all in attendance.
Ex Inmates were empowered with tools worth hundred  thousands of naira while the facilitators sensitize the audience on the need to stay away from crime.
Anuoluwapo Balogun has laid a foundation that needed all the help it can get in executing more humanitarian projects not only in Nigeria but also beyond the shores of the country.

This young corper has brought unquantifiable ideas that will make our society a better place and it will be well deserving if Anu is given a state recognition and award especially by her Excellency Erelu Bisi Fayemi who is also a humanitarian crusader too.
People like her should be  encouraged in every possible ways even as I look forward to having her NGO take take off as soon as possible.

Ekiti Guber Election

Technology and INEC's  Quest for a Model Election
The  Election of Ekiti is here again and as usual the momentum is building as political parties are doing everything possible to emerge winners of the June 18th 2022 exercise.

Much has been said about the Political parties participating in the elections and according to the information at hand about 15 political parties will be slugging it out although 3 political parties namely; APC, PDP and the SDP are clearly ahead in the race.
At the end, the winners will jubilate and the runners up will be forced to lick their wounds for another 4 years that is, if ltigations will be avoided then Inec can heave a sigh of relieve for the first time.
Apart  from the 1999 elections which ushered in the Alliance for Democracy Candidate Otunba Niyi Adebayo as governor of Ekiti state, almost all the subsequent elections has got Inec busy during the post election saga and Inec in Ekiti has received more  blames than praises in the course of conducting Ekiti elections.

This time, it appears Inec is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring a free and fair election with its recent constant programmes of sensitization, awareness, campaigns and most especially the  use of technology that will replace the analogue form in the electoral process in Ekiti. If i am not mistaken, this will be the first time Inec will be electronically conducting an election with the ABIS and APIS  to forestall any electoral malpractices.

If will electronically transmit results directly from the polling units and people can log into the portal to get the results straight from the source. This will no doubt put a check on the spread of unverified results being circulated on social media which nearly misled the public in the last gubernatorial election when a sitting governor went on radio to announce a doctored result. This time around, information will be made available to all and sundry to avoid accusing Inec of  any complacency.
On the 18th of May 2022 Inec  invited stakeholders, Political parties and the general public to give an update on how far they have gone with the preparation of the election. The Inec Honorable commissioner  in Ekiti state Dr. Tella Adeniran gave a well detailed analysis on the preparedness of commission to ensure voters and their votes are well accounted for. Mrs Oladunjoye Abimbola from the Inec ICT Department in Abuja did Justice to the updated and upgraded system of voting with the card reader now discarded and voters will now  be cleared for voting  facially including the use   fingerprints which will be used to solve  the misunderstanding surrounding the failure of card readers in the last guber election.

Moreover, the commission recorded a huge success in the areas of having  complete data of voters in the state while doing away with multiple and non eligible voters. The commission has also laid to rest some malicious report from some quarters that Inec is distributing unclaimed PVC's to a political party.

At this juncture, it is important to let us know that  The Independent Electoral commission is just an umpire whose duty is to coordinate the process. It is not part of the players and just like a football match while the referee is to regulate the affairs and how the players plays will determine the outcome of the match. Inec as a regulatory body can only appeal to the political parties and their members to play by the rules and in most cases political parties play it very dirty and still blame Inec for the outcome.

The general public should know Inec's  sole responsibility is to make materials available  at the designated polling units, make sure that only eligible voters vote, transmit the results and declare the winner. No Inec official is permitted to carry  arms and participate in the elections reason  Corp members are drafted for the exercise because their  chance of being partisan is zero percent. Attacking Inec before, during and after the elections is like beating a  child for crying, he or she will only  cry more.

All the programmes being held by Inec and other concerned bodies are mostly being attended by the few  elites and few party officials and I doubt if they relay the message to their teeming members the need to follow the  rules and guidelines. The campaigns of Inec the umpire is being neglected while political parties jamboree is commanding large turnout of people.
I sometimes wonder if people realize the importance of listening to the body before the election because I won't be surprised if some parties have their agents rejected on the election day  for failing to register their agents on the portal for easy recognition and to hinder impostors who may want to disrupt the process.

And if Inec refuses the unregistered agents won't  there be uproar that Inec is partial?
A visit to the Inec office today shows people are more interested in this year's election than the previous years with over 900 thousand eligible voters and women taking 52% percent as at 18th of May 2022.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has therefore, set the stage  clearly for a hitch free exercise on Saturday 18th June 2022, it is therefore left for the gladiators to play by the rules  and I sincerely hope Dr. Tella Adeniran will have a cause to smile at the end of the day.

The Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) has rolled out the electronic voters register as part of her preparation for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.

The Deputy Director of INEC ICT  Abuja, Mrs Abimbola Oladunjoye who took the participants on a journey of upgraded methods of voting technically which is different from the previous elections held in the state.
According to Mrs Abimbola, The Independent Electoral Commission in its bid to curtail electoral crimes such as multiple voting, impersonating, multiple registration and manual transmission of election results have resolved to introduce  Bio metrics and ABIS( Automated Biometrics Identification system) which will make the process of identifying voters facially, finger prints and proper documentation of eligible voters. We Are Tired Of Being Marginalized, Odo-Otin Cries Out
One of the widely respected leaders in Odo-Otin, as well as a frontline politician in the Progressives fold, prince Hon. George Durosinmi has expressed his concern and chagrin in regards how the leaders in Progressive party have not been "fair" to the people of Odo-Otin in terms of sharing elective posts in respect of the pertinent three Local Governments.

He vouchsafed in the presence of the visiting ODO-OTIN PEOPLE'S CONCERN " He said the party leaders in  Ifelodun and Boripe have marginalized us in Odo-Otin. Hon. George Durosinmi confirmed that,  all the aspirants contesting in Odo-otin, have obtained the form of House of Representatives and had submitted and undergoing the screening at National Secretariat in  Abuja. They are  proudly from Odo-Otin. If the party wants to be honest and transparent to us in Odo-otin, the slot of House of Representatives ticket must be allocated and contested among Odo-Otin Aspirants."
Hon. George Durosinmi

In his analysis, Hon. George Durosinmi explained that, since the dispensation of this present Democracy, the post has been rotated between Boripe and Ifelodun. "I want us to check the history, late Hon. Oyetunji in 1999 was from Ifelodun,  he contested he won and in 2003 the same Hon. Oyetunji contested and loosed. While Hon. Wale Afolabi was given the ticket many times which he lost to the opposition. Even the late Hon. Alabi from Odo-Otin did not hold the ticket from Progressive Party, and Hon. Yinka Ajayi Boripe, held the ticket from 2011 till 2019. Now Ifelodun Hon. Rasheed Afolabi is also from Ifelodun 2019 till date".
Hon. Durosinmi continued and said, "that let us consider the people of Odo-Otin for the post of House of Representatives because it was marginalized since inception of politics since 1999, and in terms of voting strength Odo-Otin has a larger vote transcending the vote strength of other Local Governments in Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency. There is nowhere the leaders in Odo-Otin sat, deliberated, and denied the ticket of House Representatives".

Hon. George Durosinmi said all the aspirants  are competent candidates exceedingly transparent, accountable, and utterly dedicated to the service of humanity as second to none.
Hon. George Durosinmi

Therefore, since exception of politics 1999 till today Ifelodun was given the opportunity to contested for four (4) times while Boripe was given two (2) times but Odo-Otin was left out.

Hon. George Durosinmi exhorted the leaders to zone the ticket of House of Representatives to Odo-Otin.

He said, "It is the right thing to do. I assure the leaders of the  party that this will reinforce and boost the voting strength of the party in Odo-Otin. Hence we can forge ahead with dynamism, zest and progress,"

Ado Ekiti: A State Capital littered with wastes and excreta

The capital of any state is a model of all the other local governments in terms of infrastructure, population and well organised streets and quarters.

This is as a result of concentrated government presence, head of all state parastatals and private sectors. The commercial activities is another angle that makes the capital of any state different from any town or city as a large percentage of the population is  found there. It is therefore, notable that any infrastructural development will take it's roots firmly as the town or city will surely play host to any important events or personalities. These activities explains why  everything is always structured in any state capital to  meet up  with modern expectations.

A state capital is therefore expected to be neat, clean and its  environment attractive. But reverse seems to be the case of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti  state capital  where the town is littered with refuse, excreta and blocked gutters which has resulted in flood whenever it rains.

One wonders the effectiveness of the Ekiti state waste management board which has the sole responsibility of maintaining and ensuring a clean and healthy environment with customized pick up lorries going the length and breadth of Ado Ekiti to pack refuses deposited carelessly along major roads, markets and gutters in the state capita. But it appears the work is already  overwhelming the board either because the town is too big to be managed or the board itself is being poorly managed as one or two waste vehicle is mostly seen parading the streets.

Some areas in Ado Ekiti are very worse and there maybe fears of break out of environmental diseases because of the very many risk the environment is posing to the residents of the area.

The Atikankan area is the worse hit with open defecation, indiscriminate dumping of waste and the unhygienic practises of the residents mainly the Hausa/Fulani's who had made the area their abode.

Approaching Atikankan or Isato Isale as fondly  called, one can perceive the foul odour coming from the large drainage which comes from old garage through the market, Mosque to Atikankan and Ajilosun respectively. The mountain of refuse in this drainage which should ordinarily serve as erosion controller has blocked any possible free flow of erosion which most times result into flood affecting lots of places and sometimes flow out to the main road. One begins to wonder where the east management board visits or where the community health workers take as priority.

About two months ago, this reporter went to the office of the state waste management board to have a view of what actually is preventing the board to be effective in discharging its duties properly. But on getting there after going through a whole lots of stress to get through to one of the Directors of the Board who gave me an appointment with the sole administrator Mr. Bayo Keleku I was to meet with the biggest embarrassment of my life.

The sole administrator, Mr. bayo Keleku refused an interview and vehemently showed his intolerance to journalists. In his words " You journalists should go and write what you feel and I will write mine as well " no amount of explanation from me that my coming was in the interest of the board and the masses who are complaining bitterly that Ado Ekiti is far from being called a model city with the way wastes  litters the every corner and streets.  I was even prevented from taking pictures of waste lorries which were probably not in good condition even as they were lined up in front of the buildings.

Maybe this explains why the town is being filled up with refuses and garbage .
Till now, apart from the major roads Adebayo to Ajilosun to be precise there  hardly is any street in Ado Ekiti that is free from this menace.

This is rather embarrassing for the state known as fountain of knowledge or Land of Honour depending as the case maybe. A visit to Oja Oba market, Olujoda, Ajilosun  and the notoriously Atikankan  and one begins to wonder if Government is effective in curbing the indiscriminate disposal of refuse in the state capital.

The Atikankan residents are found of defecating openly and still cook their food beside the refuse with reckless abandon, I was lucky not to have my phone broken as I tried to take pictures of people defecating openly in the gutters.

I have tried unsuccessfully to get across to the community health workers on why Atikankan and some areas are always bypassed whenever a monthly sanitation exercises that always receives loud ovations on radios, television and other media outlets takes place.
It is not enough to speak on air but also enforce it even if it means going down to this aforementioned area to take a look at how worse things have become.

If drastic actions are not taken, the consequences ranging from flood and break out of environmental Diseases maybe inevitable.

ADP Chairman dumps party says National Letter suspending him has no title
......as Idowu Afuye gatecrashes into press conference as members disown him
By: Idowu Adebomi
The chances of the Gubernitorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election come June 18 may have suffered a setback as the embattled chairman of the party Pastor Olakunle Emmanuel has officially dumped the party.

In a press conference held at the NUJ Secretariat Oke Bareke on may 17th 2022, the Party chairman flanked by all his state executives and members addressed members of the press on the purported suspension by the National body of the party as a fluke even as he maintained that the party National body has no property at the state level.
In his statement, Pastor Abegunde said the letter was never at any point in time directed to him as he bears Abegunde Olakunle Emmanuel and not Adekunle Abegunde as addressed in the letter.
" when I rented office at a cost of 200,000 naira for the party last year, the National Headquarters addressed me as Pastor. The invitation sent to me was verbal which I received on Sunday and as a clergy man and could not go on such journey because I had to go to church and I begged for the meeting to be rescheduled but till now I got no reply. The allegations are therefore untenable and unfounded".
Pastor Olakunle also used the medium to disown the ADP deputy governorship candidate Idowu Afuye who has since teamed up with the All progressive congress.
" It was Kemi Elebute who on Friday 13 may 2022 declared that the purported defection was fake and that Idowu Afuye has written a letter of apology to her. In that case nobody was informed if he defected or not.
" We didn't know or support Afuye as her Deputy she brought him herself and till now i as the chairman never met Afuye except once when he came to apologise for not showing up in meetings.
I pastor ( Chief) Abegunde Emmanuel Olakunle Chairman of the Action Democratic party, Ekiti state hereby declare that I drop and quit the ADP as from this hour"
Asked if he will team up with the ruling party as Afuye has done, the ex Party chairman said members and state excos will determine his next line of action.

Meanwhile, the press conference was nearly ruffled up when the defected ADP Deputy governor aspirant comrade Idowu Afuye gatecrashed into the press conference with the cap of APC on his head even though members of the ADP disowned him and said he was never invited for the press conference.

Communique Released After the 2nd  Virtual Meeting Held By Omoluabi Team Alliance Socio- cultural and Political Group On  Sunday 15th May, 2022
The meeting which was presided over by the National Convener, Omoluabi Jayeola Afolabi witnessed the online presence  of members from various locations within the country. At the meeting critical issues were tabled for discussion. Of most concern to distinguished members is the state of the nation which begs for attention from all stakeholders especially the political class who have been saddled with the responsibility of providing leadership for the  country we all call our own. Critical issues of concern include
1. Hike in the pump price of PMS and other petroleum by- products
2.Prolonged ASUU Nationwide Strike
3. The death of Miss Deborah Samuel, Student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto.

1.Hike in the pump price of PMS:
On the issue of hike in the pump price of PMS, AGO and other petroleum by-products which has been the case across various states in the country as at the time of the last meeting of the group in March. The Group observed that the pump price of PMS has reduced moderately across the country as against the #250, #230 or #190 it was sold in almost all the filling stations across the country except for BOVAS, RANO and a few other independent oil marketers who have been consistent in selling as low as #165.00.
However, the Group pray that the price of petrol and other by-products  finally return to normalcy as soon as possible following the economic hardship Nigerians are currently being subjected to in recent times.

2. ASUU- FG Prolonged Strike
The  ongoing  negotiation between ASUU and FG have been described to be taking too much time at the detriment of students and research which the universities are expected to be actively engaged in at this age and time when universities in developed countries are burning the candle day and night to come up with cutting edge researches and innovations. The Group expressed worry  as members observed that the nationwide strike unfortunately is still on despite several appeal to government by stakeholders. Omoluabi Team Alliance expressed dissatisfaction at the attitude of government to education which is the right of every child. Members pointed out that the recent action of students through the directive of NANS is a reaction expected from students since they are the one affected the most. The The Group however use the opportunity to appeal passionately to Federal Government to do the needful as soon as possible to avert the possibility of breakdown of law and and other with the possibility of crises between student populace and government officials especially now that political parties are preparing for their primaries on or before June 3rd, 2022.

3. Death of Deborah Samuel:
Omoluabi Team Alliance will not hide its reactions to the recent killing of one Samuel Deborah, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto by a mob of identified moslem fanatics and extremist who unfortunately were reported to be students and colleagues of the deceased. Omoluabi Team Alliance is of the opinion that justice be served on students who led and participated in such heinous act. Such students or persons should be rebuked, punished, black listed, studentship cancelled and made to face the law. The group, Omoluabi Team Alliance however  condole with the parents,  family members and friends of the deceased. While all Nigerians irrespective of ethnic and religious background should condemn such animalistic act in a 21st century. The Group also demand that the Government of Sokoto State and the Federal Government by extension deploy security agencies to the street of Sokoto to immediately protect the lives and properties of Christians residing and doing their lawful business in a community known to be the  seat of caliphate.

EKITI2023:

I will not take my  unopposed ticket for Granted Senator Bamidele Assures  Constituents.
.....Promises to work for Party victory in guber Election
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Senator Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele has assured the good people of Ekiti Central constituency of his readiness to continue to build on the foundational legacy he has laid.
Opeyemi who also doubles as Chairman of Southern Senators Forum of the 9th Assembly also maintained that he would never take the decision of the leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State to return him back to Senate through an unopposed party ticket for granted.

MOB as he us fondly called  in a statement issued by his media office after he was screened by the APC Senatorial Screening Panel in Abuja pledged to do everything humanly possible to ensure that the party emerged victorious at the forthcoming June 18, 2022, Governorship Elections in the State.

He commended the Screening Committee for proper organisation and conduct of the screening process .
"I do not take it for granted that I am being returned unopposed as the Flagbearer of our party in the 2023 Ekiti Central Senatorial elections.
" It means so much to me, I am grateful to the leadership of APC in Ekiti State and grateful to the leadership of the party at the National level. I am also grateful to the people of Ekiti Central Senatorial District for this honor. I don't take it for granted at all.
That no one is running against me in this race for the ticket of the party is an endorsement of my humble efforts in ensuring effective representation in the Senate in the last three years. It is also an acknowledgment by the leadership of the party and members of the party that I could be entrusted with the position of an elected Representative of the people and one of the leaders of our people in this tough time"

"It is not that we don't have equally qualified people or eligible people who can obtain the form. But the fact that this has not happened and the leadership of the party has done so much to ensure that I am given a smooth ride to be the candidate of the party, is, to me a sincere and profound effort and from whom to whom much is given, much is also expected.
" It  is a call to further and greater duty.  I will do everything possible to ensure the unity of the party through meaningful reconciliation where it is still necessary to do so and to ensure to drive a process in which there will be integrity and mutual trust."

On Ekiti Governorship Election, MOB declared that he will be going back home, to an  immediate assignment, which is  to go and campaign thoroughly and vigorously to ensure the victory of our party in the June 18 Governorship Election in Ekiti
" I believe that is the next assignment I am looking forward to and I will put in my best in this regard by the Grace of God."
