As Nigeria marks another milestone in her democratic journey, the lawmaker representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, Hon. (AVM Rtd) Ojuawo Rufus Adeniyi, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence Day celebration, urging citizens to remain steadfast in hope, unity, and patriotism.
In a goodwill message issued by his media office to commemorate the occasion, Hon. Ojuawo described October 1 as a symbolic reminder of Nigeria’s resilience, hard-won freedom, and the sacrifices of her founding fathers. He emphasized that the anniversary should inspire all citizens to renew their commitment to nation-building and to the ideals of unity, peace, and progress.
Reflecting on the present political and economic climate, the retired Air Vice Marshal commended the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in championing bold reforms aimed at stabilizing the economy, strengthening national institutions, and accelerating infrastructural development.
He also extended his felicitation to Ekiti Kete on the 29th anniversary of the founding of Ekiti State. He lauded the transformative leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) in Ekiti State, noting his people-oriented governance style and unwavering commitment to inclusive growth.
“As a nation, we are faced with challenges, but we are equally blessed with opportunities. The policies of the present administration are laying strong foundations for sustainable growth, while Ekiti State under Governor Oyebanji continues to demonstrate the true essence of good governance that directly impacts the lives of our people,” Ojuawo stated.
The lawmaker further assured his constituents that his representation would remain people-focused, with priority placed on development-driven legislation, impactful constituency projects, and robust advocacy to attract greater federal presence and opportunities to Ekiti South Federal Constituency I.
He called on Nigerians not to lose hope but tohing embrace patriotism and collective responsibility as the bedrock of national rebirth.
“Our independence is not just a celebration of the past, but also a call to action for the future—to strengthen our democracy, to support reforms that will uplift our economy, and to build a Nigeria where every citizen has a sense of belonging and pride. The future is bright, and together we shall overcome,” he affirmed.
Hon. Ojuawo concluded by wishing all Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Independence Day celebration, while praying for continued peace, stability, and greater prosperity for both Ekiti State and the nation at large.
