The Executive Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Hon. Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga Stephen, popularly known as Chenco, has felicitated Christians and residents of the local government as they celebrate the Easter season, urging them to embrace peace, love, and unity as the guiding lights for sustainable development.
In a goodwill message personally signed by him on Saturday, the chairman described Easter as a sacred season of reflection, hope, and spiritual rebirth, noting that the lessons from the resurrection of Jesus Christ remain relevant in addressing the challenges of betrayal, hatred, and disunity in society.
“This season reminds us of the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ, which signifies victory over death, the triumph of light over darkness, and the ultimate expression of love and hope. We must do away with all forms of betrayal, hatred, and division that have held us back in the past. Negativity, untimely death, and backwardness are over in our homes and communities, as prophesied by Jesus Christ,” the statement read.
Oluwatuyi, who has championed people-oriented policies and infrastructure development across the LG, called on the people to recommit themselves to building a stronger Irepodun/Ifelodun through mutual respect, cooperation, and shared vision.
He further prayed for peace, prosperity, and divine protection for every household within the local government, stating that with collective goodwill, the coming days would be marked by joy, progress, and unity.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, let us also resurrect the values that make us stronger as a people—honesty, sacrifice, and compassion. I urge us all to celebrate responsibly and continue to be ambassadors of peace and development,” Oluwatuyi added.
The chairman ended his message with heartfelt wishes for a joyful Easter celebration, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and the well-being of all constituents.
