Ekiti Speaker Felicitates Christians At Christmas.
...Urged Ekiti people to love one another.
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba, has congratulated Christians in the state for witnessing this year's Christmas.
Rt. Hon. Adelugba in a statement by her Special Adviser on Media, Odunayo Ogunmola, described Christmas as a global festival to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who was sent to the world to save the mankind from their sins.
The Speaker described the birth of Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of an age-long prophecy of the coming of a Saviour that would positive change the course of human history and reconcile man with God.
The Speaker who noted it was love that made God to send Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, into the world urged Christians to be filled with love to one another and to adherents of other faiths.
She pointed out that showing love to one another, as exemplified by the coming of Jesus Christ, would make the society a better place to live because God whom we all claim to worship is love.
Rt. Hon. Adelugba also noted that the Christmas season also offers an opportunity for sober reflection on man's relationship with God and his relationship with fellow human beings.
She urged privileged individuals to assist the less privileged ones by giving them cushion to lean on by blessing their lives with something worthwhile that will make Christmas meaningful and memorable.
While noting that being alive to celebrate this year's Christmas is a special grace from God, Rt. Hon. Adelugba admonished a moderate celebration of the festival.
The Speaker urged the people of Ekiti State to use the period to pray for the success of the state government and a peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.
