The Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security,Mr Ebenezer Boluwade, has inspected completed livestock infrastructure projects built under the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) programme across the state.

During the visit, he urged host communities to take ownership of the facilities to ensure proper maintenance and long-term sustainability.

ADEQUATE REPRESENTATION: PUTTING THE RIGHT PEG IN THE RIGHT HOLE.

ADEQUATE REPRESENTATION: PUTTING THE RIGHT PEG  IN THE RIGHT HOLE.

Representation in a democratic society is not merely about occupying a seat in a legislative chamber; it is about giving voice, direction, and meaningful leadership to the people. True representation requires competence, vision, and the willingness to challenge the status quo in order to deliver tangible progress. As the race to the Green Chamber of the National Assembly intensifies, it becomes increasingly clear that the moment calls for thoughtful reflection and responsible decision-making. The people must look beyond tradition and familiarity and instead focus on electing the right individual capable of truly representing their interests.

For too long, Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1 has experienced a form of representation that has not fully translated into the level of development, advocacy, and legislative impact that the people deserve. The constituency, rich in potential and blessed with hardworking and resilient citizens, has not always received the quality of representation required to drive sustainable growth and meaningful change. Over the years, many voices within the constituency have expressed concerns about being shortchanged in terms of effective legislative presence, strategic development initiatives, and strong advocacy at the national level.

The time has therefore come for a new direction—one that prioritizes competence, integrity, and a clear vision for the future. Representation should not be about maintaining the status quo or recycling the same patterns that have yielded limited results. Instead, it should be about placing the right peg in the right hole: identifying a leader who possesses the capacity, experience, and commitment needed to transform challenges into opportunities for progress.
Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1 deserves a representative who understands the needs of the people and is prepared to champion those needs with courage and dedication at the national level. Such a representative must be accessible, proactive, and strategic in pursuing policies and programs that will benefit the constituency. The Green Chamber must not simply be a place where voices are heard occasionally; it must become a platform through which the aspirations of the people are consistently projected and defended.
This is why many stakeholders and supporters believe that the time has come to support a candidate who embodies these qualities. A leader who not only understands the responsibilities of representation but is also prepared to work tirelessly to ensure that Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1 receives the recognition, resources, and development it deserves.

In this regard, Arch. Tope Ogunleye (RST) stands out as a capable and committed individual whose vision aligns with the aspirations of the people. With a professional background that reflects discipline, planning, and development-oriented thinking, he represents the kind of leadership that can help reshape the narrative of the constituency. His candidacy symbolizes a fresh opportunity to pursue effective representation—one that focuses on empowerment, infrastructural development, youth engagement, and inclusive growth.

The race to the Green Chamber should therefore not be viewed as a mere political contest but as a crucial opportunity to reposition the constituency for greater progress. The people must ask themselves an important question: who among the contenders truly possesses the qualities required to represent them effectively and bring about meaningful change?
If the goal is to move beyond past limitations and embrace a future defined by purposeful leadership and tangible development, then the choice becomes clearer. Adequate representation demands courage, competence, and commitment. It demands the willingness to break away from patterns that have not served the people well.

The moment for reflection has arrived, and the responsibility lies with the people to make a decision that will shape the future of Ekiti State Federal Constituency 1. The call is simple but profound: put the right peg in the right hole and allow capable leadership to chart a new course for progress.

Arch. Tope Ogunleye (RST) represents that opportunity. And indeed, the time is now.
