A renowned philanthropist and legal practitioner, Barr. Yemi Ayodele Ayeni has extended his generosity to a 19-year-old diminutive undergraduate, Olatunji Jumoke, by sponsoring her education at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti FUOYE, until graduation.

This announcement came shortly after he was honoured with a Meritorious Award for Outstanding Performance in Youth and Community Development during FUOYE’s 9th Convocation ceremony.

Jumoke, a 100-level student in the Department of Linguistics and Languages, shared her remarkable journey at the university.

She recounted how she had almost lost hope after being previously denied admission but was overjoyed to finally secure a place at FUOYE.

Due to her diminutive stature, she initially faced misconceptions from fellow students, who often mistook her for someone assisting a coursemate rather than being one herself.

Speaking on his decision to sponsor her education, Barr. Ayeni revealed that he came across a viral video of Jumoke being interviewed by a fellow student after someone drew his attention to her story.

Intrigued by her unique experience and unwavering determination, he felt compelled to support her dream of higher education.

"I saw an exceptional circumstance in her case. Despite her growth challenges, she exudes confidence and a strong resolve to succeed. I want her to know that no disability can hinder her from achieving her goals," he stated.

Ayeni, who has received multiple awards for his philanthropic efforts, described the recognition from FUOYE as particularly special, considering his roots as an illustrious son of Oye Ekiti.

He reaffirmed his commitment to uplifting lives and vowed to continue making meaningful contributions to humanity.
