Ekiti citizens continue to express their deep affection for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and this admiration grows stronger by the day.

Even though the Governor has yet to announce any intention to seek a second term, remaining focused on making an impact without distraction, numerous associations and groups have already endorsed him, insisting that he must continue his good works with a second term.

Just like their counterparts in Ekiti West Local Government, in yet another expression of appreciation, teachers in Ekiti East Local Government trooped out en-masse yesterday in colorful attire to show their gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for his transformative initiatives and welfare packages for Ekiti teachers.

The teachers hailed him as the most teacher-friendly Governor they have ever had. They highlighted several groundbreaking initiatives he has championed, benefiting both primary and secondary school teachers across the state.

Among the many benefits teachers have enjoyed under Governor Oyebanji’s administration as highlighted by Mr. Apalowo Olutayo Sunday, the Education Secretary for Ekiti East local government are:

♻️ Approval of car and housing loans for primary school teachers, first of its kind in the state.
♻️ Upgrading of primary school teachers to level 16 cadre.
♻️ Clearing of all outstanding arrears and prompt payment of salaries.
♻️ Permanent payment of an additional ₦15,000 monthly incentive to teachers, initially approved for six months but now extended indefinitely.

In a remarkable show of support, the teachers not only endorsed Governor Oyebanji for a second term by passing a unanimous vote of confidence, but they also donated ₦500,000 towards the Governor's re-nomination form, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring his continued leadership in 2026.

According to Mr. Apalowo, the endorsement was not mere flattery, but a genuine recognition of the Governor’s significant contributions to the education sector, saying the Governor’s impact is felt by both teachers and other stakeholders across the sector.
