Ekiti Assembly Passes Vote Of Confidence On Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
....Appropriation bill for year 2024 presented to the House for consideration.
The Ekiti 7th House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji led Administration following a motion moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon.Tolu Ige representing Ekiti South West II and seconded by the Minority Leader Hon. Dele Ogunsakin member representing Ekiti East I at the plenary on Friday 13th October, 2023.
According to the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Oke, the mover of the motion submitted that the continuous growth in the State through the efforts and commitment of the Governor is worthy of recognition by the House.
“Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s achievements in the last one year are laudable, remarkable and worthy of commendation.”
At the plenary the Governor also presented a budget of over 159 Billion Naira christened “Budget of Sustainable growth and Development” in line with Section 121 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended.)
According to the Governor, 55% of the budget covers Recurrent Expenditure while 45% is for Capital Expenditure.
The Governor explained that the budget would address the present economic situation of the country which would lead to shared prosperity and quality service delivery.
The Governor promised to respect separation of power among the three arms of Government and solicited for more collaboration in order to serve Ekiti better.
Earlier, the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye applauded the Governor for his unwavering commitment to serve Ekiti people.
The Speaker noted that the budget was a testament to the dedication and passion of this Administration.
The House adjourned its plenary to Monday 16th October, 2023.
