We are now faced with the birth of a new season and year that comes with promises of good tidings. 2022 is gone and has become a past we have to put behind us all. However, the challenges and troubles that came with 2022 has finally been buried with it. Nigerians again now have a clean slate to write on as the year 2023 creeps in a numerical order of arrangement. Nigerians well noted for their tolerance, zealousness, ability to weather the storm and a special breed of people with a unique stamina to absorb shocks under all circumstances, it is an attribute that has continue to keep the country going since 1999 till date. No wonder, Nigerians are being described as the happiest people on earth.
Fellow compatriots and tribesmen, we can only hope for better as the journey into 2023 has just begun today 1st January, 2023. Leaders should turn a new leaf by putting into consideration first the welfare of citizens. The provision of good roads, quality water, qualitative education, employment and other good welfare packages are responsibilities of government in all nations around the globe, while the respect for basic and fundamental human rights is a must in a sane society. All these are indeed the rights of Nigerians. Regular payment of workers' salaries and emoluments is a right that should not be politicized at all. God sure have a way of compensating good and godly leaders who make the welfare of the masses a priority. The year 2022 like 2020 has been tagged to be worrisome years for Nigerians as the country ' s economy became so unfriendly to all. Myriads of challenges like economic instability, downturn, collapse and total closure of some corporate and private organizations who could not cope with cost of diesels for power generation and worst of it all the closure of Nigerian universities for eight(8) months which led to a collapsing system in a manner that calls for urgent attention.
The country no doubt need attention and has to be repositioned to avoid a further collapse in all sectors. We have the chance to collectively correct the wrongs of last year beginning from this moment. We must continue to look forward to getting our hope renewed as a people, we must shun leaders whose policies and ideologies are anti people and give room for leaders with sustainable visions, plans and understand economy. Leaders who knows too well how to run a system that will be beneficial to all irrespective of ethnic, religious and language heterogeneity. Nigeria is a giant, blessed, endowed with both human and natural resources. We must collectively resolve to make Nigeria habitable for us all and unite ourselves than ever.
Way forward for Nigeria in 2023 is to allow us all reflect the tenets of our Omoluabi(better pikin) in us across all categories of persons who are passionate and committed to refix our nation, which is suppose to be a home to all Africans and and a choice destination for expatriates.
Let the masses speak in one voice through the ballot and decide who provides leadership to the country as we go into the poll for the general election this year.
God bless the Southwest(Oodua a gbe wa oo)
God bless Nigeria.
May the good spirit of Omoluabi never depart from us all(Amen)
