Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort: Inside John Olajide’s Remarkable Rebirth of Nigeria’s Best Resort.

Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort: Inside John Olajide’s Remarkable Rebirth of Nigeria’s Best Resort.

The breathtaking transformation of the iconic Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort in Ekiti State once again took centre stage on Thursday and Friday as a team of social media influencers and renowned journalists embarked on an exclusive tour of the revitalised destination. The visit offered a firsthand look at the renewed vision powering what has become one of Nigeria’s most iconic and fast-rising tourism assets.

The tour was at the instance of the Chairman of Cavista Holdings, John Olajide, a globally renowned industrialist and investor who believes that organising such a tasteful event is one of the best ways to appreciate the social media influencers' longstanding support for his investments in Nigeria. These investments include Glocient Hospitality, concessionaires of the Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort and Conference Centre, Agbeyewa Farms, Cavista Technology, and Payzeep—a Fintech company based in Abuja.

Welcoming the media team to the resort, the General Manager of Glocient Hospitality, Mr. Lanre Balogun, delivered a compelling address highlighting the depth of commitment, investment, and community empowerment driving the resort’s rebirth. He credited the unprecedented turnaround of the Warm Spring Resort to the visionary leadership of Cavista’s Chairman, Mr. John Olajide, and his brother, Ron Olajide.
According to Balogun, the resort might have been lost to neglect and failed takeovers “years ago” if not for Olajide’s determination, commitment, and capacity to revive the facility. “You don’t just take over an asset like this when you don't have the capacity and expertise for hospitality development,” he said. Recalling the rundown state of the facility before Glocient took over, he noted that it was a relic of its past glory—overgrown surroundings, decaying structures, and a complete absence of the vitality that once defined it.

Balogun described the remarkable improvements achieved in just three years—an evolution that has restored the resort to national prominence. Today, guests are greeted by tastefully furnished rooms, world-class landscaping, colourful holiday décor, and upgraded leisure facilities, all reflecting the passion and heavy investment of a man globally recognised for excellence.
He further revealed that out of the over 200 staff of the resort, over 70% are drawn directly from the Ikogosi community and its surrounding towns—a testament to John Olajide’s commitment to using business and investment opportunities to create jobs, more jobs, and even more jobs in Ekiti and Nigeria as a whole. “Many of these youths were unemployed some years ago. Today, they have been trained and empowered, creating sustainable income and boosting the local economy,” Balogun said.

Speaking on Cavista Holdings’ broader operations, Balogun also highlighted the group’s expansive footprint, from Agbeyewa Farms—home to the largest cassava farm in the world—to Cavista Tech, one of Nigeria’s biggest employers of software engineers.
“John Olajide and his brother are people God has endowed to come into Nigeria for one purpose: create jobs, more jobs, and even more jobs,” he said.
Despite the huge commitment to the resort’s re-engineering project, Balogun revealed that the leadership has yet to make any profit from the investment, reiterating that they believe business as a force for good takes time to evolve. “Their motivation is simply impact, not immediate financial returns,” he insisted.

Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort has since earned national acclaim, winning Best Holiday Resort in Nigeria twice and recently clinching the award for Nigeria’s Most Unique Place to Visit, reaffirming its position as a premier leisure, nature, and adventure destination.
Balogun also announced an additional $2.5 million investment underway to upgrade Camp A of the resort—once a dead zone—which will soon surpass existing structures in comfort, design, and service delivery.

He proudly stated that all achievements at Ikogosi were realised without the involvement of foreign experts.
“Everything you see here, we did ourselves—no foreign hands,” he emphasised, highlighting Glocient’s reliance on direct labour and homegrown talent.
He further revealed that the resort is fully booked for December and the festive period, noting that internal adjustments had to be made just to accommodate the visiting media team. The revived resort has triggered massive economic activity in surrounding communities, resulting in a complete shortage of available accommodations.
He closed his remarks with a heartfelt appeal: “Let the world know about Ikogosi. Let people come and experience this place.”

Leading the visitors through the iconic sections of the resort were Alhaji Dauda Lawal (ADL), Director of Community Engagement for Agbeyewa Farms, and High Chief Ayo Ademiluwa, Communication and Community Engagement Manager at Glocient Hospitality.
The media team enjoyed an immersive tour of the resort, marvelling at the transformation of a once-abandoned facility now rising as one of Africa’s top destinations for leisure and wellness.

Addressing the visitors on behalf of the Chairman, ADL stated that the gesture was an act of appreciation for the support media influencers have shown to Cavista Holdings’ investments since January this year. “This is our way of saying thank you,” he told the group.
ADL praised the influencers and journalists for their unwavering support and commitment to Cavista’s investments in Ekiti and Nigeria at large. “Your commitment is part of the reason Agbeyewa Farms is today the number one cassava farm in Africa—and proudly number one in the world.”
Guests captured stunning visuals—from serene walkways to renovated chalets, the newly built Presidential Villa, the impressive swimming pool, outdoor lounges, and the legendary confluence where warm and cold springs meet.
He noted that three years ago, Ikogosi was just a shadow of its potential—overgrown paths, dilapidated buildings, no activity, and no hope. The turning point came when the Ekiti State Government entrusted the resort fully to private investor John Olajide. Unlike past government interventions that consumed billions with little result, this rebirth was funded 100% by Glocient Hospitality.
Lawal revealed that Olajide has already committed over ₦10 billion to reviving the resort and has stated that “what we are seeing today is less than 5% of what this place is destined to become.”

From the warm spring trail to the forest lounge, presidential suite, modern chalets, and recreational zones, visitors described the experience as “magical,” “energy-restoring,” and “better than expected.”
Influencers from Ekiti echoed these sentiments, calling Ikogosi the perfect escape from city stress.

Lawal agreed, describing Ikogosi as an “energy-reviving sanctuary” where Nigerians can regain strength. He highlighted Ekiti State’s peacefulness, business-friendly environment, and government support for investors.

“The best publicity we have received is from guests who come here and cannot stop talking about their experiences,” he remarked.
The tour climaxed with a lively evening of music, where media personalities danced to a live band while enjoying assorted refreshments—an unforgettable blend of rustic charm and premium hospitality.

Lawal also disclosed that several state governments have reached out to Glocient Hospitality to replicate the Ikogosi success story.
“Our Chairman has transformed economies across the world. What he has done elsewhere, he believes must also be done here at home.”

This philosophy birthed both Agbeyewa Farms and the Ikogosi re-engineering project—two ventures now reshaping Ekiti’s identity as a hub of innovation and sustainable development.
Some visitors remarked that Ikogosi now rivals international tourist destinations.

“Why travel abroad when Ikogosi gives you everything and more?” one influencer asked— a sentiment many agreed with wholeheartedly.
With upgraded rooms, captivating scenery, world-class service, and unmatched serenity, Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort stands firmly as a renewed jewel of Nigerian tourism.

Ekiti South Stakeholders Inaugurate Youth Campaign Committee for BAO/MCB/BAT.

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ekiti South Senatorial District have inaugurated the Ekiti South Youth Campaign Committee for the BAO/MCB/BAT Continuity Campaign, aimed at mobilising youth support for the party ahead of forthcoming political engagements.

The committee was formally constituted on Monday during a stakeholders’ meeting held in the district, with the APC Ekiti South Senatorial Chairman, High Chief Akindele Akinbobola, JP, and the Ekiti South APC Secretary, Hon. Afuye Oluwaseun, presiding over the event.

Speaking at the inauguration, Akinbobola charged members of the newly constituted committee to work diligently towards promoting the progress and continuity of the BAO/MCB/BAT political structure within the APC, stressing the need for loyalty, discipline and unity of purpose.

He warned against acts capable of undermining the collective ambition of the party, urging members to remain committed to grassroots mobilisation and peaceful political engagement across the district.

He further directed that individual coordinators across the six local government areas in Ekiti South should immediately commence the formation of the same youth campaign structure at the ward level to ensure effective coordination and widespread participation.

According to him, “The success of our party depends largely on how organised and united we are at the grassroots. The youth are critical to this process, and this committee must work assiduously to ensure victory for our party and its candidates.”

In his remarks, the Ekiti South APC Secretary, Hon. Afuye Oluwaseun, described the inauguration as a strategic step towards strengthening the party’s structure ahead of future elections.

“This is not just the inauguration of a committee; it is the formal activation of our youth strength across Ekiti South. The future of this party rests heavily on the energy, commitment and discipline of our young people,” Afuye said.

He urged members of the committee to remain law-abiding, focused and consistent, adding that the APC leadership in the district would continue to provide the needed support to ensure the success of the continuity agenda.

“You must see yourselves as ambassadors of our party in your wards, communities and campuses. Go out there, mobilise peacefully, defend our achievements with facts, and expand our membership base. Together, we will record another resounding success,” he added.

The newly inaugurated committee has Hon. Oluwaseun Adeboyejo as Chairman, while Abimbola Omotunde Alfred emerged as Secretary. Other members of the committee include all local government youth leaders, local government secretaries and local government public relations officers across the six councils in the senatorial district.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the committee, Hon. Oluwaseun Adeboyejo, expressed deep appreciation to the party leadership and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in the youth.

“I want to sincerely appreciate our leaders for this great trust. This responsibility is one we take with utmost seriousness. On behalf of the entire youth campaign committee, I assure you of our total loyalty to the party and unwavering commitment to the BAO/MCB/BAT Continuity Agenda,” he said.

Adeboyejo added, “We are ready to take this campaign to every ward, every street and every community across Ekiti South. The youth are mobilised, energised and determined to ensure total victory. By the grace of God, we shall not disappoint the leadership and the entire party.”

He further pledged that the committee would operate with discipline, unity and respect for party supremacy, while sustaining peaceful and issue-based engagement throughout the campaign period.

In their separate remarks, leaders of the youth campaign committee pledged total commitment to the objectives of the party, promising to intensify mobilisation efforts among young people in the district in support of the continuity agenda. The Undeniable Return: Why Ekiti North Constituency II Needs Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju.

The Undeniable Return: Why Ekiti North Constituency II Needs Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju.

The air in Ekiti North Federal Constituency II (comprising Ido/Osi, Moba, and Ilejemeje Local Governments) is thick with nostalgia and a fervent desire for the return of a true servant-leader: Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju (IBO). Though a manipulation of the political process led to his momentary exit from the House of Representatives after the 2023 election, his service trajectory and immediate elevation by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are compelling testimonies to a character that remains indispensable to his people.

Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju is widely recognized not just as a politician, but as a responsible father, a principled public servant, and a committed philanthropist. His good character is evident in his inclusive approach to politics and his unwavering commitment to his constituents.
He is A Responsible Father and Role Model: IBO understands that leadership begins at home. His dedication to his family mirrors his commitment to the collective welfare of the community, setting a strong moral and ethical standard for the youth in the constituency.
He is A Quintessential Philanthropist: Throughout his tenure and even now, his impact has transcended legislative duties. He has actively engaged in extensive empowerment programmes, including the provision of 200 Brand New Laptops and essential training for youths and teachers in Ekiti State, demonstrating a deep-seated belief in human capital development and the "Renewed Hope" agenda.

Hon. Olarewaju's solid academic background forms the bedrock of his pragmatic approach to governance. As an accomplished lawyer (Barr.), he brings a meticulous, constitutional, and law-abiding perspective to every challenge.
During his time representing the constituency in the 9th National Assembly, he distinguished himself as a lawmaker with substance, serving meritoriously as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Agricultural Production and Services. Notably, he ranked high among Ekiti State's federal lawmakers in terms of legislative productivity, sponsoring a significant number of bills. This proven capacity to contribute meaningfully to lawmaking is precisely what Ekiti North II is missing.

Justifying His Appointment
The most powerful justification for Hon. Olarewaju’s return lies in the immediate recognition of his value by the highest office in the land. Following the 2023 election, and despite the political maneuvering that led to his loss, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu immediately appointed him as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters.
This swift appointment was not a consolation prize; it was a strategic move rooted in necessity and trust. As noted by the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, the appointment recognized IBO's "steadfastness, political maturity and high level integrity," and the President’s need for an experienced, decent, and pragmatic politician to serve as the critical liaison between the Presidency and the House of Representatives. This immediate elevation confirms that the loss in the constituency was a political setback, not a repudiation of his competence or character. The President knows his value; the constituency should reclaim it.

The fact remains: Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju has established a track record of performance, accessibility, and developmental politics that resonates deeply with the people of Ido/Osi, Moba, and Ilejemeje. The missing link in the current representation is the dedicated and effective leadership that he provides.
IBO is A Champion of Empowerment: His consistent empowerment drives, even while serving in a federal appointment, prove that his connection to the grassroots is unwavering.
IBO is A Bridge to the Presidency: His current role has positioned him closer to the apex of power, giving him unparalleled access and influence to attract Federal projects and opportunities back to the constituency, a key advantage Ekiti North II should not forfeit.

Hon. Ibrahim Kunle Olarewaju’s return to the House of Representatives is not merely a political ambition; it is the logical next step for a constituency that deserves the very best of representation. It is time for the people to harness his high-level experience, political sagacity, and presidential trust to secure a brighter future.

…Launches Renewed Hope Initiative for PWDs.

The First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Wednesday empowered 250 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Ekiti State with N50,000,000 grant to boost their economic independence and improve their livelihoods.

Each of the PWDs was presented N200,000 cash at the event which held at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti.

Speaking at the event, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the Wife of Ekiti State Governor and RHI State Coordinator, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji,  highlighted the importance of inclusion and equal opportunity, stressing that the initiative was part of a broader national vision to ensure that no one is left behind in the social and economic development of the country.

Senator Oluremi, who also launched the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Economic Empowerment for PWDs to commemorate the International Day of PWDs, said the Economic Empowerment Programme which held simultaneously across the 36 states, would provide business recapitalization grants of N200,000 to 250 PWDs in each State and the Federal Capital Territory to help strengthen their existing businesses, enhance their livelihoods and achieve greater self-reliance.

While maintaining that the programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which seeks inclusive growth and shared prosperity, the Wife of the President explained that over the past two years, the initiative has supported more than 100,000 women petty traders and small business owners, support agriculture, education, health as well as provide emergency relief to vulnerable communities, victims of disasters and internally displaced persons across the country.

Expressing her profound gratitude to Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji and His Wife, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji for their support and for complimenting the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at ensuring that no one is left behind in the development agenda of the country, the First Lady also assured that the empowerment programe would now be an annual event for the PWDs to mark their day.

“Our nation grows stronger when every individual is empowered to contribute meaningfully. As Helen Keller, the renowned American disability rights advocate, once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” These words remind us that a truly inclusive society is built when we stand together, creating opportunities that empower everyone to contribute their unique gifts to our collective progress.

“Today, the Renewed Hope Initiative will provide the sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) Business Recapitalization Grants to two hundred and fifty (250) Persons with Disabilities in each State and the Federal Capital Territory to support small business owners to recapitalize their existing businesses and strengthen their means of livelihood.

“This programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which seeks to promote inclusive growth and shared prosperity by ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind, especially those whose needs are often overlooked and It is worth noting that, over the past two years, the Renewed Hope Initiative has supported over one hundred thousand (100,000) women petty traders and small business owners, including persons with disabilities, with direct financial grants to grow their businesses”.
