Inclusive Politics, Governance Made You Succeed as Gov, Muslim Cleric Hails Oyebanji.

Inclusive Politics, Governance Made You Succeed as Gov, Muslim Cleric Hails Oyebanji.

The Grand Imam of Ekiti State and President , League of Imams and Alfas Southwest, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere Bello, has declared that strict adherence to the tenets of inclusive governance and politics, is responsible for the success recorded by Governor Biodun Oyebanji's administration.

Alhaji Bello disclosed this on Friday,  at a special Ju'mat thanksgiving Service held at the Central Mosque, Oja Oba, Ado Ekiti, in commemoration of the third anniversary of the Niodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration.

Alhaji Bello appreciated Allah for directing the Governor aright to be able to perform exceedingly well in three years, urging him to be thankful to God for giving him the strength and wisdom to serve at this auspicious time.

The Cleric appealed to all politicians to always exhibit humility before God and the people, saying they shall all be accountable for all their deeds on the judgement's day.

Alhaji Bello said Governor Oyebanji has performed creditably well in office , by being outstandingly inclusive in politics, governance and in gender promotion.

"I want to appreciate Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his Deputy for their humility. Many governors had ruled Ekiti, but we have a lot of lessons to learn from this Governor.

" He got experience by receiving tutelage from some former governors. He is not a leader you can deceive. He doesn't listen to sycophants or talk down on people anyhow.

"We have seen what he did in road infrastructures, in payments of salaries, pensions, gratuities and social services, particularly his help for the sick and needy in the society. He is indeed a leader you can trust and count on anytime.

"No wonder, all the four former governors are supporting him and pronouncing it openly. If you are in position of authorities and you are humble and accommodating like Governor Oyebanji, it will be easy for you to govern well. People will support you. Arrogance can't take you anywhere as a leader.

"He deserves our support. Let us continue to pray for him. Nobody is infallible, he can't do it all. But for him to succeed, he must continue in this good direction. He shouldn't derail from his focus", Alhaji Bello advised.

The Imam charged the governor and his team to continue to be steadfast and be fair to all indigenes, regardless of political and religious leanings.

Speaking at the special spiritual session, Oyebanji commended the Muslims Ummah in the state for their consistent support and sense of solidarity for his administration, boasting that his government will last in Ekiti till 2030.

Oyebanji said most astounding was the religious tolerance Muslims have exhibited, by cohabiting peacefully with other religious inclinations without crisis, describing this as an impetus to peace and stability being savoured by residents.

"I will beg all of us in politics not to be vindictive. We can't victimize anyone because of his political interest. We all have interest to become good in life and all APC members must stand united. I dont begrudge people based on.political interest. Let us spread a hand of love and fellowship to those who don't support us, they can support us tomorrow.

"I appreciate the Chief Imam and Muslims in Ekiti for their support and prayers. I will continue to stand with you".

Present at the special service are: Ekiti State Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, Speaker, House of Assembly, Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, Secretary to the State Government, Prof Habibat Adubiaro, commissioners, Special Advisers, among others.

....pledges sustenance of welfare programme for workers.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has said his administration would continue to maintain the culture of professionalism in the civil service and uplift it to a competitive and productive entity that can deliver the best to the State.

The Governor said he was not oblivious of the inherent danger in undue politicization of the service, saying it breeds mediocrity that has capacity to undermine the credibility and potency of workers to deliver optimally.

Oyebanji spoke on Friday, at the 2025 Ekiti State Public Service Forum and Award of Excellence Ceremony held at the  Adetiloye Hall, Trade Fair Complex, Ado Ekiti.

Oyebanji, represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, said his government has been able to accomplish its vision of making Ekiti a microcosm of development, due to solid support being received from civil servants.

The Governor averred that productivity in the civil service can only be enhanced and entrenched , when there is a service that places high premium on merit over mediocrity in appointments and postings.

The Governor, however, maintained that the solid backing being received from workers was a reciprocation of his giant strides through prompt payment of salary, pension, gratuity, deductions to cooperative societies and implementation of promotion as and when due.

Oyebanji, who applauded the versatility and intellectual mobility of the civil servants, urged them to refrain from acts that could derail the civil service, describing the workers as the main drivers of the Ekiti  economy, which he said was predominantly civil service oriented.

Speaking further, the Governor  assured the workers  that his administration will continue to allow them to operate without political interference, saying professionalism remains the Hallmark of any civil service that will be effective and efficient.

"You have seen how we have operated with human face in the last three years. We are not going to consider politics in appointing people into positions.

"You could all attest to how we have promoted professionalism and merit over mediocrity.. We are not going to encourage any action that can undermine your capacity to deliver", he said.

On the giant strides made by his government to rejig the system, Oyebanji said: "I appreciate the civil servants for your support and solidarity to this government. If not for you, we would n't have been able to accomplish some of our vision as indicated in the six pillars of this administration.

"However, I want to say with all sense of pride that your support was a reciprocation of Mr Governor's gesture through the implementation of the new minimum wage, prompt payment of salary, pension, deductions and gratuity.

"At the last count, about N14.6 billion had been paid in three years on gratuity. The government has spent about N25 billion on monthly pension. We assure you that we are still going to do more", he assured. .

In her remarks, the Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, was excited and felt actualised with the giant strides made by Governor Oyebanji in the core civil service, expressing elation that the State now has  a leader who doesn't need lobbying before investing and funding the civil service adequately.

Dr Olomojobi saluted the Governor for placing high premium value on the welfare of workers in the areas of salary, gratuity, pension and deductions' payments, and for initiating enviable reforms that have fortified the service and made it the real engine- room of governance.

The medical practitioner, said Ekiti now has one of the most inclusive and implementable minimum wage, spanning the core civil service, judiciary, local governments and subvented institutions, urging her colleagues to make sacrifices and shun corrupt practices that could derail the service.

Panelists at the event: former Commissioner in the military era,  Engr Babatunde Fakoyede, former  Heads of Service, Mr Olufemi Adewumi and Ayodeji Ajayi and a retired Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye, were unanimous in their views, that Governor Oyebanji was indeed a reformer and lover of the civil servants.

They averred that Ekiti Civil servants can compete favourably with their counterparts in the country and are above board in terms of sacrifice, diligence, policy direction, strict adherence to rules and regulation , and intellectual acumen.

Present at the occasion are: Secretary to the State Government, Prof Habibat Adubiaro, traditional rulers, retired Heads of service, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries, Executive Secretaries, General Managers  and the entire civil servants.

Consensus of Trust in Three Years of Steady Leadership.

Consensus of Trust in Three Years of Steady Leadership.
By Idowu Ephraim Faleye +2348132100608

In Ekiti State, a powerful message of unity and confidence has just been sent. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has chosen Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as its sole candidate for the next governorship election through a consensus built on trust, loyalty, and performance. This decision is not just political; it reflects the people’s collective belief that good leadership deserves continuity.

Governor Oyebanji’s endorsement by consensus is the natural result of three years of steady, result-driven leadership. His calm approach, humility, and accessibility have earned him deep respect across political lines. Under his watch, Ekiti has witnessed meaningful progress in infrastructure, education, youth development, and human capital investment. His leadership is defined by quiet efficiency, and by genuine service, not self-interest.

The consensus that produced him was born out of sincerity, not imposition. Across all parts of the state, voices called for continuity because the people could see and feel the difference his administration has made. Civil servants, artisans, traditional rulers, and young people have experienced positive changes that speak louder than promises. The numerous endorsements that followed were simply the people’s way of saying, “Let the good work continue.”

The people of the state have spoken clearly — “We endorse you for continuity.” In response, the APC as a responsible political party has said, “We cannot deny the will of the people.” The party, therefore, chose to present Governor Oyebanji to the electorate through consensus, recognizing that his leadership reflects the genuine aspirations of the people and the collective desire for sustained progress.

Governor Oyebanji’s competence and calm strength stand out. He listens before he acts, carries everyone along, and leads without arrogance. His inclusive leadership has united the party, reduced friction, and strengthened the APC’s internal harmony. In a political climate often marked by rivalry, Ekiti has become an example of peace and maturity under his guidance.

Loyalty remains one of his strongest traits. From his early days in public service to his rise as governor, Oyebanji has remained faithful to the APC and to the ideals that shaped him. He acknowledges his political mentors, respects party structures, and still makes independent, thoughtful decisions. This blend of loyalty and wisdom has earned him trust both within the party and among ordinary citizens.

His ability to unite people across divides also explains why the consensus was smooth and widely accepted. He has built bridges where walls once stood. In a state once known for political tension, he has restored calm, respect, and a sense of shared purpose.

The APC’s decision to adopt him through consensus is, therefore, more than a political strategy; it is a reward for competence, loyalty, and inclusive leadership. It shows that the people and the party want to build on what works instead of starting afresh. By choosing agreement over competition, the party has reaffirmed its unity and strengthened the foundation of progress in Ekiti.

As Governor Oyebanji marks his third anniversary in office, this endorsement serves as a strong validation of his leadership. It sends a clear message: the people trust you, your work speaks for you, and we want you to continue. It is both a celebration of the journey so far and a renewal of confidence in the future.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s story is a reminder that leadership is not about loudness but impact, not about division but unity, and not about power but service. His steady hands and open heart have brought stability and direction to Ekiti State.

As Ekiti people celebrate three years of purposeful governance, the consensus that surrounds him represents more than politics — it represents hope. It is a consensus of trust, built on performance, peace, and shared vision.

Congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his well-deserved consensus endorsement and his remarkable three years of steady leadership. May his tenure continue to strengthen unity, deepen progress, and inspire lasting development across Ekiti State.

Ekiti 2026: Governor Oyebanji Extends Olive Branch to Co-Contestants, Says “No Victory, No Vanquish”.

Ekiti 2026: Governor Oyebanji Extends Olive Branch to Co-Contestants, Says “No Victory, No Vanquish”.

Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, has once again demonstrated uncommon political maturity by placing the peace and unity of our great party — the All Progressives Congress (APC)  above personal ambition or political rivalry.

In a rare display of political mayirity on Thursday, Mr. Governor urged his supporters and all APC members to embrace unity ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election, emphasizing that the contest for the party’s ticket is a family affair. He declared, “There is no victor, no vanquish,  we are all winners.”

It would be recalled that four party members: Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, Engineer Kayode Ojo, Mrs. Abimbola Olawumi, and Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo  had earlier expressed interest in the APC governorship ticket. Following the screening exercise by the APC National Working Committee, Governor Oyebanji and Mrs. Omolayo were cleared for the primaries slated for October 27, while Ojo and Olawumi were disqualified. Subsequently, Mrs. Omolayo graciously withdrew from the race, paving the way for Governor Oyebanji to emerge as the consensus candidate of the party.

Commending this gesture of inclusion, the Oyebanji Street Vanguard (OSV), the foremost grassroots sensitisation and mobilisation movement for continuity of good governance  lauded the Governor for extending a hand of friendship to his co-contestants. The group praised his magnanimity in declaring that “nobody has lost this contest; in truth, we have all won. Let us celebrate with grace, not insult anyone.”

In the same spirit, OSV appealed to all contestants, especially Engineer Kayode Ojo, to consider the larger interest of the APC, the good people of Ekiti State, and the vision of Mr. President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who graciously appointed him as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti.

The group further called on all political leaders across Ekiti State to promptly follow up on this olive branch extended by the Governor by reabsorbing and integrating all party members and supporters into the fold. According to the group, this act of unity is essential to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2026/2027 electoral cycle and to sustain the legacy of good governance already being championed by Governor Oyebanji.
