The Executive Chairperson of Irewolede LCDA, Hon. (Mrs) Dupe Bakare has been inducted as a Fellow of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.

The special investiture of Hon. Bakare took place on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Assembly Hall, The Polytechnic Ibadan.

The induction ceremony was conducted by the Registrar of the Institute, Dr. Uche Okereke.

According to Dr. Okere, "the induction of Hon. Dupe Bakare as a Fellow of the Institute was decided by the Council of the Institute in recognition of her expertise and proficiency in the management of public enterprises and outstanding performance in public administration activities in Nigeria.

"He added that the induction of Hon. Bakare was informed by the fact that she has exhibited a high grade of exemplary leadership style, not only as a seasoned Administrator but equally as a woman of great integrity whose virtues are worthy of emulation" he explained. 

With her induction, Hon. Dupe Bakare has joined other eminent Nigerians such as Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, former governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame, former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, former governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida, Senator Duro Faseyi, who have been earlier inducted as Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.

Ekiti First Lady Urges Student To Justify N1 Million Per Session Scholarship.

Her Excellency Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, the Ekiti State Governor's wife, encouraged Sunmonu Olaolorun Daniel, a recipient of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) National Scholarship, to work harder and justify the scholarship award. The advice was given during the scholarship presentation event at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The scholarship, awarded by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, entails a yearly sum of N1 million for four years and a laptop for each awardee, provided they maintain a CGPA of 3.0 and above.

Dr. Oyebanji, a senior lecturer in Education Management, praised Sunmonu, a bright student from Ekiti, for fulfilling the criteria and urged him to continue making the state proud. She commended Senator Tinubu for the initiative's inclusion of Girl-Child Education, Adult Literacy, and Out-of-School Dropouts.

The Ekiti First Lady congratulated Sunmonu on winning the scholarship and emphasized the importance of him performing well to secure future funding. She expressed gratitude to Senator Remi Tinubu for the platform, believing it would motivate tertiary students to excel.

Sunmonu expressed gratitude to the RHI for the scholarship and to the Ekiti State government for nominating him. He promised to justify their investment by excelling academically.

Senator Tinubu called the N1 million scholarship a seed money and encouraged recipients to develop vocational skills alongside their academics. She highlighted President Tinubu's commitment to accessible tertiary education through the Students Loan Scheme.

The event was attended by dignitaries, including the Vice President's wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, RHI Director on Education Prof. Hafsat Ganduje, state governors' wives, and others. The RHI aims to empower underprivileged students and make quality education available to all children across Nigeria.
