President Tinubu, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, thanked Nigerians for entrusting him with the mandate to lead the country toward economic recovery, security restoration, and national greatness. He emphasized that every decision made during his administration has been in the best interest of the nation.

Addressing recent economic reforms, President Tinubu discussed the removal of fuel subsidy and the overhaul of the foreign exchange system. He acknowledged the discomfort these decisions might have caused but emphasized their necessity to save the country from fiscal catastrophe.

Concerns over the rising cost of living, high inflation, and under-employment were not overlooked by the President. He assured Nigerians that the socio-economic challenges are temporary and urged citizens to remain resilient, citing tough times as opportunities for growth and improvement.

President Tinubu highlighted ongoing efforts in addressing security issues, promising peace of mind for citizens. He outlined plans for economic recovery, including the Siemens Energy power project, local refining of petroleum products, and agricultural initiatives to boost food production.

In his commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, the President pledged to simplify fiscal and tax policies, making Nigeria an attractive destination for local and foreign investments. The 2024 budget, presented to the National Assembly, prioritizes national defence, job creation, macro-economic stability, and poverty reduction.

Promising impactful governance, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration would implement a new national living wage for workers. He stressed the importance of equal opportunities for every Nigerian, working toward reducing inequality.

President Tinubu announced the establishment of a Policy Coordination, Evaluation, Monitoring, and Delivery Unit to enhance governance output. He urged ministers and heads of agencies to showcase their achievements within the first quarter of the new year.

Expressing his major ambition to build a fair and equitable society, President Tinubu called for unity among Nigerians, irrespective of differences. He extended a call for collaboration, even to political opponents, emphasizing the shared responsibility of building a prosperous nation.
