SENATOR YEMI ADARAMODU FULFILS EDUCATIONAL PROMISE AS AIDE PRESENTS SCHOOL MATERIALS TO ADOPTED STUDENT IN ILAWE-EKITI.

The Distinguished Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has commenced the fulfilment of his pledge to sponsor the education of 13-year-old Temitope Dayo Faith, an SS1 student of Corpus Christi College, Ilawe-Ekiti, in further demonstration of his commitment to education, youth development, and humanitarian service.

It will be recalled that the Senator recently earned public commendation after adopting the young student, whom he identified at a public event. Moved by compassion, Senator Adaramodu pledged to take full responsibility for her welfare and sponsor her education from secondary school through university level, while formally accepting her as a member of his family.

In fulfilment of this promise, Dr Adebayo Adesoji Adeokin, Special Assistant to the Distinguished Senator, represented him at Corpus Christi College, Ilawe-Ekiti, where he formally presented educational and welfare materials to the students. Part of the items presented include writing materials, recommended textbooks, a set of new school uniforms, a school cardigan, sportswear, school sandals, a school bag, a laboratory coat, and other essential learning aids. In addition, lesson fees and PTA levies for the entire academic session were fully paid, ensuring a stable and uninterrupted academic journey for the beneficiary.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr Adebayo Adesoji Adeokin stated: “This presentation is a practical demonstration of Senator Yemi Adaramodu’s commitment to the future of this child. It is not a one-off intervention, but the beginning of a continuous support system that will follow Temitope through her educational journey, as promised by the Distinguished Senator.”
He further emphasized that the Senator believes strongly in education as a tool for empowerment and long-term societal transformation.

Responding on behalf of the school, the Principal, Mrs Ojo F. T., expressed heartfelt appreciation for the gesture, saying: “This support is timely and deeply impactful. It will go a long way in shaping the academic and personal future of this student. We sincerely appreciate Senator Yemi Adaramodu  for this rare show of compassion and commitment to education.” Also speaking was the school’s Bursar, Mr Omowaye S. J., who commended the intervention, noting that it serves as encouragement not only to the beneficiary but to the entire school community.

This fulfilment of promise once again reflects Senator Yemi Adaramodu’s people-centred leadership, compassion for the less privileged, and strong conviction that investment in education remains one of the most effective strategies for sustainable nation-building.

For Temitope Dayo Faith, the intervention marks the beginning of a renewed and promising future, anchored on care, responsibility, and purposeful leadership.

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji: A Leader of Unity and Progress in Ekiti State.

As Ekiti State welcomes a new year, the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji continues to shine bright as a beacon of hope and unity. In a remarkable display of inclusive governance, the Governor has extended an olive branch to all stakeholders, including those who opposed his renomination for a second term.

Governor Oyebanji's style of governance is built on the principles of love, peace, and progress. He has reached out to the opposition camp, engaging in constructive dialogue to ensure peace and stability in the state. This gesture has not gone unnoticed, as it was evident in the sermon rendered at the 2026 New Year Thanksgiving service, where religious leaders praised his efforts in promoting unity and reconciliation.

The Governor's inclusive approach has also seen him working closely with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other opinion leaders to drive progress in the state. The impact is visible in the agricultural sector, where initiatives are yielding positive results, and the state's economy is experiencing a boost.

The National Assembly members from Ekiti State have expressed their confidence in Governor Oyebanji's leadership, praising his ability to bring people together and drive development. The same sentiment is echoed by members of the State Assembly, who commend his inclusive style of governance.

But it's not just the politicians who are singing his praises. Workers in the state are happy, and trade unions are full of praise for the Governor's efforts in improving their welfare. "Mr. Governor's style of governance is people-centric," says a trade union leader. "He listens, he cares, and he delivers."

As Ekiti State moves forward, it's clear that Governor Oyebanji's leadership will continue to be a driving force for unity and progress. His commitment to inclusive governance has created a sense of belonging among all stakeholders, and the results are there to see.

In a state where politics often gets heated, Governor Oyebanji has shown that with love, humility, and a willingness to listen, anything is possible. As he continues to lead Ekiti State, one thing is certain: the people are behind him, and together, they will achieve greatness.

AJONI LCDA RECORDS TRANSFORMATIONAL GRASSROOTS GOVERNANCE (For the record).

...as Ogungbemi Administration Delivers on the Ajoni LCDA Development Road Map (Blue Prints) Security, Economy, Environment,  Infrastructure, Human Capital & Inclusive Growth.

The administration of Ambassador Prince Michael Ogungbemi, FCPA, Executive Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has recorded far-reaching achievements across critical sectors between 2022 and 2025, positioning Ajoni LCDA as a model of accountable and people-centred grassroots governance in Ekiti State.

Guided by Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity Agenda, the Ogungbemi-led administration successfully domesticated inclusive governance at the local level, restoring public confidence, strengthening institutions, and delivering measurable development outcomes.

*SECURITY & PUBLIC SAFETY*
To address insecurity along Ajoni’s border communities, the administration established Operation _EBBORAC_ , an indigenous community-based security architecture that effectively curbed banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and cross-border crimes.
A formal security partnership with the Ekiti State Police Command (April 2022) enhanced intelligence gathering, joint patrols and capacity building for local security operatives. The provision of 119 solar-powered streetlights, 8 motorcycles, 150 security booths, 4 generating sets, and other security logistiics alongside inter-state border patrols, significantly improved safety, night-time commerce, and freedom of movement.

*INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT*
Major infrastructure interventions included the rehabilitation of the Ikole–Omuo Road, strategic road sections at Oke Ayedun and Odo Ayedun, and the commissioning of 17 solar-powered and motorized boreholes across several communities.
The Ogungbemi led council administration also delivered a landslide legacy project, the modern Ajoni LCDA Secretariat and constructed/renovated about 120 units of market stalls and lock-up shops, expanding commercial activities across Ajoni LCDA and enhancing revenue potential.

*EDUCATION & HUMAN CAPITAL*
In collaboration with the Build A School Initiative in Africa (BASIA/Co-Africa), the council delivered 8 modern classrooms at St. Stephen’s Primary School, Ayebode, and St. Luke’s Pilot Primary School, Esun.
Through its Back-to-School initiative, pupils across 33 public primary schools received free learning materials. The administration sponsored about 50 youths for Vocational and Technical Training, 20 women for Adire textile production, and provided scholarships and financial support to indigent but brilliant students.

*HEALTH & SOCIAL WELFARE*
A partnership with Bountiful Children's Foundation resulted in the screening of over 1,400 children, with nearly 900 malnutrition cases identified and treated through a two-year nutrition programme.
Free medical outreaches, support for hospital bills of indigent residents, and the ongoing remodelling of the Itapaji Community Basic Health Centre further strengthened healthcare delivery. Seasonal social interventions, including children’s Christmas celebrations, promoted social inclusion.

*ENVIRONMENT, WATER & AGRICULTURE*
The administration sustained routine sanitation exercises, drainage clearing, and environmental maintenance. It also delivered 18 new and rehabilitated borehole projects.
Agricultural empowerment programmes included the plantation of 10,000 oil palm seedlings,  distribution of 2,000 Polyclonal cashew seedlings, and 50 knapsack sprayers, alongside support for farmer cooperatives and youths sponsored in agricultural settlements.

*ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT & LIVELIHOOD*
Through business grants, skills acquisition programmes, market infrastructure expansion, and cultural enterprise support such as the Adire Ekiti Empowerment Programme, the council strengthened local value chains, reduced unemployment, and improved household incomes by disbursement of BAO’S Traders fund to about 350 small scale enterprises, 20 Adire fabrics trainees, 25 youths in commercial Agriculture and several beneficiaries of various social interventions across Ajoni LCDA.

*SPORTS, YOUTH & SOCIAL PROTECTION*
The administration established and registered Ajoni Football Club, sponsored its participation in the Ekiti State football League, and supported international exposure for players. Indigenous sports were promoted through Ayo Olopon competitions.
Women and youth-focused initiatives included the inauguration of a Gender-Based Violence Committee, anti-trafficking awareness campaigns, empowerment of widows and vulnerable groups, and the training of 50 youths and job engagement as data analysts under the African Oral  Histories & Genealogical Project.

*CONCLUSION*
The administration of Amb. Prince Michael Ogungbemi, FCPA, stands as a testament to transparent leadership, community-driven development, and fiscal responsibility. Through strategic governance and inclusive policies, Ajoni LCDA has been repositioned on a sustainable development path—secure, productive, and people-focused.

Agbeyewa Farms Charts Bold Expansion, Deepens Job Creation Drive for 2026.

Agbeyewa Farms Charts Bold Expansion, Deepens Job Creation Drive for 2026.

The Chairman of Agbeyewa Farms, Mr. Niyi John Olajide, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to using agriculture as a powerful engine for job creation, inclusive growth, and community transformation, as the firm steps into 2026 with ambitious expansion plans.

In a New Year message personally signed by the Chairman, Mr. Olajide expressed gratitude to God and optimism about the year ahead, noting that agriculture—when driven by clarity of purpose and strong execution—has the capacity to transform lives, livelihoods, and entire communities.

According to the Chairman, 2026 presents significant opportunities for Agbeyewa Farms to deepen its impact, scale its operations, and further position agribusiness as a catalyst for shared prosperity, particularly in Ekiti State where the company’s flagship operations are located.

“We are here in Ekiti State not simply to farm, but to demonstrate that agriculture, built on a strong and integrated value chain, can create employment at scale, restore dignity to work, and unlock economic potential,” he said.

Mr. Olajide further explained that Agbeyewa Farms remains focused on building a solid cassava value chain that spans cultivation, aggregation, processing, and agro-trading. This end-to-end model, he noted, enables the company to create value at every stage while opening sustainable opportunities for farmers, young people, processors, transporters, and entrepreneurs within the
agricultural ecosystem.

He emphasized that job creation lies at the heart of the company’s mission—not just in terms of numbers, but through the provision of sustainable and dignified livelihoods that strengthen families and encourage young Nigerians to see agriculture as a viable long-term career path.

Looking ahead, the Chairman disclosed that Agbeyewa Farms will significantly increase its investment in people in 2026 through skills development, stronger partnerships with smallholder farmers, and the scaling of its operations. These efforts, he said, are designed to create the right conditions for young Nigerians to thrive across the agricultural value chain.

The year also marks a new phase of growth for the agribusiness firm, with plans to deepen its footprint in Ekiti State, strengthen its processing capacity, and lay the foundation for expansion into new locations across the country.

“Our guiding principle remains simple: to leave every community we enter better than we met it,” Mr. Olajide stated.

He concluded by thanking Agbeyewa Farms’ employees, partners, host communities, and the media for their trust and support, noting that their confidence continues to inspire the company to uphold the highest standards and deliver lasting impact.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Agbeyewa Farms says it is poised to create greater value in 2026 while inspiring the next generation of agribusiness leaders in Nigeria.

OYEBANJI AT NEW YEAR THANKSGIVING, URGES SUPPORT FOR TINUBU’S REFORMS, PEACEFUL CONDUCT AHEAD JUNE GUBER POLL.

OYEBANJI AT NEW YEAR THANKSGIVING, URGES SUPPORT FOR TINUBU’S REFORMS, PEACEFUL CONDUCT AHEAD JUNE GUBER POLL.
...Says electioneering for guber election won't affect governance.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has urged the people of the State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his bid to rescue Nigeria from saboteurs who don't want the country and its citizens to be free from hardship.

Oyebanji urged Ekiti people to intensify their prayers for the President and his administration to successfully implement impactful reforms that will make life better for Nigerians and rescue them from those holding the country by the jugular.

The Governor stated these on Friday at an Inter-faith Thanksgiving Service to mark the first working day of year 2026 which was took place the Obafemi Awolowo Civic and Convention Centre, Ado Ekiti, where he led the people, including top government functionaries, in prayers for peace, progress and prosperity of the state and the country at large.

He reiterated his call to politicians, political parties and the people of the state to maintain peace before, during and after the June 20 governorship election promising to manage the affairs of the state well such that electioneering activities would not affect governance and service delivery.

Governor Oyebanji emphasized his readiness as a governorship candidate and that of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to play the game according to the rule, expressing confidence that his superlative performance in the last three years would earn him and his party another four year- term in office.

While attributing the success recorded by his administration to God and Ekiti people, Oyebanji also reserved a special commendation for President Tinubu whom he noted had so far supported Ekiti immensely to be better than what it used to be, urging the people to reciprocate by supporting the policies of the President and praying for him to succeed.

Speaking further, Oyebanji said the President’s policies, although painful initially, have started to yield dividends. He cited the remarkable drop in prices of food items and pump price of petrol as some of the noticeable gains.

Oyebanji said: "For everything we have achieved here, I give God the glory but after God, I stand here to publicly thank the President for his support for us and his policies which are positively turning around the situation in our country. Remember, it is not the price you bought a bag of rice upper year that you are buying it now; it is not the prices you bought garri, beans and even fuel that you are buying them now.

"We must join the President to take this country from those that are holding it by the jugular. We should support the tax reforms because it will make more money available to all tiers of government. Let us always pray for Mr President to defeat those who don't want this country to prosper and be better for all of us.

"When you have a leader that is prepared, when you have a leader that means well for the people and a leader that is sincere, the country will move forward. A policy may be tough initially, it's like a boil that will be more painful when it's about to burst. These are necessary things we have to go through.

"Now, the worst is over, the economy is rebounding, the Naira had stabilized, fuel (price) is coming down, inflation is receding and what we can do now is to encourage the President and pray for him. If he can do this in less than three years, imagine what he will do in eight years.

"But those who have held this country by the jugular, who don't want us to prosper, it behoves on us to retrieve this country from them. The President is ready, we in Ekiti State must support him and continue to pray for him because he has demonstrated capacity, he has demonstrated commitment and he has demonstrated that he knows what he is doing."

Declaring 2026 as a year of unlimited opportunities in Ekiti, Oyebanji charged political office holders in the state to work assiduously as stewards and manage the resources of the state well so that every citizen will feel the impact of government.

Earlier in the Christian sermon, the state Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Reverend Emmanuel Aribasoye, charged Oyebanji to always remember the covenant that brought him into office and not to allow anybody to turn him against God reminding the Governor to maintain his good personality as a servant of the people.

The State Qareeb Missioner, Alhaji Abdul-Hakeem Afenifere, advised the Governor and other political leaders in the state to refrain from ingratitude, lack of contentment and failure to show mercy to the less privileged reminding them that power is transient and that they will stand before God to give account of their stewardship.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Mrs Monisade Afuye; the First Lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji;  Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye; Chief Judge, Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye; House of Representatives member representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency I, Hon. Adeniyi Ojuawo; Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado; state lawmakers, heads of labour and trade unions, heads of instituutions, local government chairmen, political office holders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil servants and members of the public.
