Embracing the Call: The Vital Role of Youths in Developing Nigeria 🇳🇬.
By: Comr. Olamide Akinwumi James

Nigeria, a nation blessed with a rich cultural heritage and vast resources, stands at a critical juncture in its history. However, the path to progress is not without its challenges. Amidst the issues plaguing the nation, the most crucial and powerful resource Nigeria possesses is its youth. The young generation holds the key to a brighter and more prosperous future for the nation. Nigeria, a vibrant and diverse nation, is our home, and it holds immense potential for growth and development. As the future of our great country, the youths play a pivotal role in driving positive change and progress. While it might be tempting for some to seek greener pastures elsewhere, it is essential to recognize the unparalleled opportunities that lie within Nigeria's borders. Nigerian youths represent a significant demographic group, comprising approximately 60% of the population. This demographic advantage presents an unparalleled opportunity for sustainable development. The energy, innovation, and passion of the youth can drive positive change in all sectors of society.

In this article, we will explore the various ways in which useful youths can contribute to the development of Nigeria and emphasize the importance of patience and hard work in achieving lasting change.

• Education and Skill Development:
One of the most impactful ways the youth can contribute to Nigeria's development is by investing in their education and acquiring relevant skills. With a growing economy and advancements in technology, the demand for skilled professionals is on the rise. By focusing on fields such as engineering, technology, healthcare, agriculture, and renewable energy, young individuals can actively participate in the nation's development.

• Entrepreneurship and Innovation:
The youth have a unique advantage when it comes to innovation and entrepreneurship. Nigeria's business landscape offers numerous opportunities to create startups and innovative ventures that address specific challenges faced by the country. Whether it is in the form of agribusiness, technology solutions, or social enterprises, the entrepreneurial spirit can drive economic growth and foster sustainable development.

• Community Engagement and Social Impact:
Engaging with local communities is essential in understanding the real issues faced by the country. Youth-led initiatives can focus on education, healthcare, sanitation, and environmental conservation. By actively participating in community development projects, young individuals can make a tangible difference in the lives of their fellow citizens.

• Environmental Conservation and Sustainability:
Nigeria faces various environmental challenges, including deforestation, pollution, and climate change. Youth-led movements and organizations can work towards creating awareness and implementing sustainable practices. By promoting eco-friendly habits and engaging in conservation efforts, the youth can contribute to preserving Nigeria's natural resources for future generations.

• Supporting Government Initiatives:
While it is crucial to hold the government accountable, the youth can also support and actively participate in existing government initiatives aimed at fostering development. By volunteering or joining civil service, young individuals can contribute their skills and ideas to enhance the effectiveness of public policies and programs.

• Mentorship and Skill Sharing:
For the development of Nigeria to be sustainable, the knowledge and experience of older generations must be passed on to the youth. Establishing mentorship programs can bridge the gap between generations, enabling the transfer of valuable skills and insights that are essential for progress.

In seeking to contribute to the development of Nigeria, patience and hard work are invaluable virtues. Progress takes time, and the journey may be challenging. But it is essential to stay committed to the cause and persevere through obstacles. Rome was not built in a day, and similarly, significant societal transformation requires sustained effort and dedication.

In Conclusion, Nigeria's future is in the hands of its youth, and the potential for growth and development is immense. By investing in education, embracing entrepreneurship, engaging with communities, and promoting sustainable practices, the youth can actively participate in shaping a brighter future for the nation. Moreover, by upholding patience and embracing hard work, they can ensure that their efforts lead to lasting and meaningful change. Together, as a united force, the youth can build and develop Nigeria, creating a prosperous and thriving nation for generations to come.

The Power of Apologies: Understanding Mistakes, Seeking Forgiveness, and Building Stronger Relationships.

The Power of Apologies: Understanding Mistakes, Seeking Forgiveness, and Building Stronger Relationships.
By: Comr. Olamide Akinwumi

Mistakes are an inevitable part of the human experience. From minor slip-ups to major blunders, we all make errors in judgment, behavior, or decision-making at some point in our lives. While mistakes can be painful and even damaging, they also present us with an opportunity for growth, understanding, and building deeper connections with others through the power of apologies.

This article delves into the significance of acknowledging our mistakes, understanding the art of saying "sorry," and the profound impact that genuine apologies can have on personal relationships and society as a whole.

The Importance of Acknowledging Mistakes: Accepting our mistakes is the first step toward personal growth and development. It takes courage and humility to recognize that we are fallible and capable of error. By acknowledging our mistakes, we open the door to learning from them and making positive changes in our lives.

Avoiding blame-shifting or denial is vital, as it only perpetuates the cycle of errors and hampers personal growth. Instead, embracing our imperfections empowers us to take responsibility for our actions and learn from our missteps, making us more empathetic and understanding individuals.

In Understanding the Art of Saying "Sorry":
A genuine apology goes beyond mere words; it is a sincere expression of remorse and accountability. The art of saying "sorry" involves several essential elements:

• Acknowledgment of the wrongdoing: Begin by explicitly stating what you did wrong. Avoid generalizations or excuses, and take ownership of your actions.

• Genuine remorse: Express true remorse for the hurt or harm caused by your mistake. Let the person know that you understand the impact of your actions and that you genuinely regret them.

• Empathy and understanding: Show empathy by acknowledging the other person's feelings and perspective. Demonstrating that you can see things from their point of view fosters a sense of validation and respect.

• No qualifiers or defensiveness: Avoid diluting your apology with phrases like "I'm sorry if you were offended." Such phrasing shifts the responsibility onto the offended party and diminishes the sincerity of your apology.

• Amends and commitment to change: If possible, offer to make amends or rectify the situation. Additionally, demonstrate your commitment to change by outlining steps you'll take to prevent similar mistakes in the future.

The Power of Forgiveness: As crucial as it is to apologize, forgiveness plays an equally significant role in the healing process. Forgiveness doesn't mean condoning the behavior or forgetting the hurt, but it does release the burden of carrying resentment and allows for emotional healing to begin.

Forgiving others is an act of compassion and a way to free ourselves from the negativity associated with holding grudges. It enables us to move forward and rebuild trust in relationships. Likewise, forgiving ourselves is equally important. Accepting that we are human and prone to errors allows us to let go of self-destructive guilt and make genuine efforts toward self-improvement.

However, Building Stronger Relationships through Apologies: Saying "sorry" and accepting apologies are pivotal in building and maintaining healthy relationships. The ability to acknowledge mistakes and seek forgiveness fosters an environment of trust, vulnerability, and empathy.

When individuals are willing to apologize and forgive, it strengthens the foundation of their bond. Open communication becomes possible, leading to better conflict resolution and mutual understanding. This, in turn, enhances emotional intimacy and promotes overall relationship satisfaction.

Apologies in Society:
Apologies are not confined to interpersonal relationships alone; they hold significant value in a broader societal context. Public apologies from institutions, corporations, or governments serve as a means of accountability and acknowledgment of past wrongdoings. Such apologies are vital for addressing historical injustices, fostering reconciliation, and moving forward toward a more just and equitable future.

In Conclusion, Mistakes are an inevitable part of life, but the way we handle them defines our character and shapes our relationships. Embracing the art of saying "sorry" and being open to forgiveness not only fosters personal growth but also strengthens the bonds we share with others. Genuine apologies have the power to heal wounds, rebuild trust, and pave the way for a more compassionate and understanding world. So, let us learn from our mistakes, say "sorry" with sincerity, and embrace the transformative power of forgiveness.

Tinubu Must Be Proactive in Attending to Economic Challenges, Omoluabi Group Warns.

Tinubu Must Be Proactive in Attending to Economic Challenges, Omoluabi Group Warns.
It is no more news that hard times are here with serious economic hardship as Nigerians begin to groan. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu now have a lot to do by proferring immediate solutions to challenges facing all at the moment. Yes, no doubt that the administration is new and possibly a lot need to be adjusted to meet the promises of the renewed hope agenda. The price of commodities, transportation, school fees, PMS and a lot more have gone higher than the normal. Government workers can no longer go to work from Monday to Friday. This is seriously a hard time for Nigerians both rich and poor.

The onus is now on the newly sworn- in president to put his house together, engage his team of advisers and spend all nights burning the lamp to quench this economic hardship. All hopes are high as soon as the President came into office and that tempo for a new Nigeria we all voted and supported must be sustained. No doubt, Mr. President is a civilized man, he is a finance expert, knows the terrain and understands perfectly the challenges of Nigeria. Therefore Nigerians have chosen well and should not be disappointed for making this choice with all confident that Nigeria is now on a path of greatness.
The way forward is simple. PBAT should think out of the box alongside his team and give attention to the followings:

1. Palliatives to all government workers immediately both State and Federal to restore the Monday to Friday working days.

2. Make available free bus shuttles to all citizens including government workers and students across the 36 states and the FCT.

3.Price control for all oil independent marketers as price regulations should be mandated and pegged at #300.00 for the now. With this policy only those who can afford importation of PMS will remain in business.

Now that subsidy has gone, it   implies that we have to begin to think of alternatives on how to improve on the economy of our country.  Think productive refineries, think uninterrupted electricity, think employment for the youths. Ministerial list to make caninet members must be new wines in new bottles. They must be individuals who are innovative, creative and can think independently and come out with good results.

Omoluabi Team Alliance Socio- cultural and Political Group however advise that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu  to fully be in- charge of the runnings of his administration and avoid psychophants and power hijackers in all decisions.

May the good spirit of Omoluabi never depart from you Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Omo olodo ide, Akanbi.

Bauchi Community leader lauds MEDA on reduction of rape cases.

Bauchi Community leader lauds MEDA on reduction of rape cases.
Mr. Abdullahi Mahmood, Community Leader of Kuletu in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi state, has commended a non-governmental organisation 'Mennonite Economic Development Associates' (MEDA) for playing a significant roles in the reduction of rape cases in the community.

Mahmood made the commendation in Bauchi on Saturday during the graduation ceremony of some boys and girls trained by the organisation across seven Local Government Areas of Bauchi state.

According to him, hitherto the coming of the NGO into his community, cases of rape were on the high side due to lack of sensitisation and training of the boys and girls as executed by the organization.

He explained that their children were trained by MEDA in collaboration with other Bauchi based NGOs like the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) and Child is Gold Foundation (CIGF) as implementation partners.

The Community Leader added that the programme was also designed to reduce the rate of out-of-school children, street hawking, early or forced marriages, drug abuse by empowering the adolescents with basic life skills and financial inclusion services.
"Before they came, there was news that was fabricated in order to stop the programme in my community. As a teacher, I thought about it and when they phoned me, I promised them that they would get 30 girls in my community to train.

"Some of the false news they were spreading about this programme is that they will indoctrinate our daughters and sisters not to get married until they are over 18 years and that sex is good, marriage is bad.

"When they finally came to my own community, I personally attended the lectures and realised that all these news against  them is not true.

"What they are teaching our children is contrary to what we were told earlier. I had to convince all the Imams of mosques in my area.

"On the issue of hawking, they trained our daughters that if you must hawk, you don't go into the rooms of boys as you could be raped.

"Initially, cases of rape were so rampant but now, if there is any case of rape, the girls feel confident to approach me directly as their Sarki and explains what has happened which I do take action immediately by inviting the police, taking the victim to the hospital for treating and prosecuting the culprit.

"This is made possible by the kind of training received from MEDA which has made them to know more about their rights. They now know how to invest, they know the value of education unlike before when we were completely living in darkness.
"At the end of the training, in my area now, almost all the girls that dropped out or left schools went back to school, he said."

Mahmood, who thanked God for the coming of the programme to his community, prayed that it would be extended to other localities that have not benefited and the state in general.

Also speaking, Mrs Dinah Istifanus, the Executive Director, FAWOYDI, one of the implementation partners, said no fewer than 1,198 youths comprising of 948 girls and 250 boys in 37 communities across Seven LGAs of Bauchi State have been trained within the past seven years in various skills acquisition programmes.

She listed the seven LGAs to include; Bauchi, Dass, Gamawa, Jama’are, Katagum, Toro and Warji LGAs, saying the programme is about looking critically on what girls in particular could encounter in their lives and how to help them overcome it.
"This is a programme that is being supported by MEDA and is all about supporting the girls, boys within the age of 11 to 18 on the life skills to run their lives without hitches."

She added that the programme is all about what are the possible challenges that girls would likely encounter in their lives especially, in the area of education, sociocultural norms and financial support that they need.
"Looking at the economic situation of the country, how can they sustain themselves in this kind of situation, she said."

The Power of Humility, Appreciation, and Dedication: Building a Fulfilling Life.

The Power of Humility, Appreciation, and Dedication: Building a Fulfilling Life.
By: Comr. Olamide Akinwumi James

In a world that often glorifies individual achievements and success, the virtues of humility, appreciation, and dedication might seem undervalued. However, these qualities are the cornerstones of personal growth, fulfilling relationships, and overall well-being. This article delves into the significance of humility, appreciation, and dedication and how they can positively impact our lives and the lives of those around us.

I. The Virtue of Humility
Humility is a trait that reflects a genuine sense of modesty and self-awareness. It involves recognizing one's limitations, acknowledging the contributions of others, and being open to learning and personal development. A humble individual doesn't seek validation or praise but derives satisfaction from contributing to the greater good.

Fostering Positive Relationships: Humble individuals are approachable and compassionate, making it easier for them to connect with others on a deeper level. Their willingness to listen and empathize fosters trust and cooperation in both personal and professional settings.

Encouraging Growth and Learning: Humility encourages a growth mindset, as individuals are more likely to accept constructive feedback and view challenges as opportunities for improvement. By recognizing their imperfections, humble people are motivated to continuously learn and evolve.

Reducing Conflict and Ego Clashes: A humble approach can help defuse conflicts and ego-driven clashes. Instead of seeking dominance, humble individuals prioritize mutual understanding and compromise, leading to more harmonious relationships.

II. The Power of Appreciation:
Appreciation is the act of recognizing and valuing the efforts and contributions of others. By expressing gratitude, individuals cultivate an environment of positivity, empathy, and mutual respect.

Enhancing Motivation and Morale: When people feel appreciated for their hard work and dedication, they become more motivated to give their best efforts. Recognizing accomplishments boosts morale, leading to increased productivity and overall satisfaction.

Strengthening Relationships: Appreciation strengthens bonds between people. Whether in personal relationships, friendships, or the workplace, acknowledging others' contributions builds a foundation of trust and encourages a spirit of cooperation.

Creating a Culture of Positivity: A culture of appreciation fosters a positive atmosphere where people feel valued and supported. This, in turn, leads to increased creativity, innovation, and a willingness to go the extra mile.

III. The Essence of Dedication:
Dedication is the unwavering commitment and perseverance towards a goal or purpose. It involves staying focused, putting in consistent effort, and overcoming obstacles despite challenges and setbacks.

Achieving Long-Term Success: Dedication is often the key differentiator between success and failure. Whether in academics, career, or personal pursuits, dedicated individuals are more likely to achieve their goals because they are willing to put in the necessary work over time.

•Cultivating Resilience: Dedication instills resilience and the ability to bounce back from failures. It helps individuals view obstacles as stepping stones rather than barriers, enabling them to continue striving for success even during tough times.

•Leaving a Legacy: Dedication to a cause greater than oneself can lead to leaving a lasting impact on society. Think of dedicated scientists, inventors, or activists whose contributions have transformed the world.

In a world that is often fast-paced and competitive, embracing humility, appreciation, and dedication can enrich our lives and the lives of those we interact with. Humility opens doors to growth and empathy, appreciation spreads positivity and fosters meaningful relationships, and dedication propels us toward achieving our aspirations.

By incorporating these virtues into our daily lives, we can create a more harmonious and fulfilling existence. Let us strive to be humble learners, grateful appreciators, and dedicated achievers on our journey of personal growth and making a positive difference in the world.
